Map Discussion Thread

Syrixia:
What is on the map is the geographical canon in TNP. If it's not on the map, it's not canon.
By that logic, I shouldn't role play Tir na Andalucia and Callaici as they have no presence on the map which according to you is the TNP geographical canon.

That's a different case. We know Nierr is working on putting the new continents in the map, so one can say TnA and Callaici are accepted, in spirit.

That is the plan. Work starts tomorrow on it. Will hopefully have at the very least an explanation post up.

I'm all for claiming the little bit of land as part of Callaici and turning it into a hippie commune free from the shackles of the Free State (Republic). Could be a very fun RP scenario...

Because we're the cool kids on the block and it makes it more interesting. I think they tried a world map before.

Ya indeed. ^^

I'm sure we have a map nexus topic that could answer that question.

That is the physical map.

Here, hold on a few minutes. I'll make a blank political map.

Hang on.

1. That isn't the up to date physical map. This is.

2. What are you going to be using this for?

He wants to do some sort of Past RP, but I said the physical map wouldn't be fit for that. When I get back from my yoga class in an hour I'll get everyone together and make a modified political map, the modifications being the past territorial shapes of the participating nations,

I don't think such a thing would work, considering the problems we've already had with multiple people claiming control of the same or similar land at the same time.

couldn't we just pull an alternate universe on it?

Which would either require multiple versions of the same map or make the map useless.

The problem is that he's wanting to generate non alternate universe factbook shared histories from the historic RP thread he's creating. Thus if not carefully done would basically hatchet its way through multiple nations historic rights.

Add in his, so far, RP incompetence and we have a big mess here.

Basically that. There's the case of what exactly he's going to do with that map. Technically, it remains the intellectual property of myself (as its creator) and Lord Lore (as a leading contributor to the point where he is responsible for the current political map style, essentially making him a creator as well).

The Past RP will shape the North Pacific. Its no "alternate history" or something.
The Map will eventually turn into the normal map we have.

I don't care what happens in Sadakoyama in the past because we don't arrive until the 19th century-ish. Just be aware that I've written it as a land of inconvenient mountains and tepui-like plateaus, for the most part heavily jungled and infested with endemic diseases. The north coast is quite nice, though, albeit hilly and rocky, and the south-east while livable is beset with frequent monsoons and hurricanes. Lots of water-borne parasites and bacteria.

Sounds like a great place. I think there will be increased tourism to your nation from mine now.

I know, right?

Syrixia:
However, the difference is that instead of Faibuaizu HQ, which is on a spacious property on a hill in the flat, hilly grasslands of Darcania near Klarliert...
It's for all the artillery, Syrixia. After all, Nebula and Wolfsea are in the alliance. :P
(not really :) )

Also, I don't really know how grasslands can be "flat" and "hilly" at the same time. :P

I created my own Map Projection of TNP :D
Its supposed to be like the peirce quincuncial map projection. But it was just way too inaccurate Dx

Warning: This image is HUGE!

-cough cough- new south sytarenne? -cough cough-

I'm sorry, but... I don't understand what that's supposed to be. Could you explain it or something so I know what I'm looking at?

Search this: peirce quincuncial map projection
Its a map projection designed to show how TNP would look like in a flat area (the current one, is like mercator)
