You act as if an Organization can not be an Alliance. By definition every Alliance that has more then 2 signatories is also an organization. Because for it to function properly, you have to create a supranational organizational structure to oversee the alliance.

Take NATO, NATO at its core is a Military Alliance but due to the amount of members it has an organizational structure to oversee the alliance. (Other multinational military alliances that are also organizations include the CSTO, ASF/AU, PSF/GCC, SADC/USAN, CSDP/EU, AL, and SCO)

Then perhaps I misdefined. What I mean is I don't want to create an organization with various goals and structures such as NPTO or the DU. I got the idea based on what the Faibuazu Alliance was working on, and I felt another alliance, hence the title, would be good for RP since there would be different alliances.

The Faibuazu Alliance, and thus the Helmebaine Alliance, is based on this: http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Five_Eyes. As I said, instead of multiple goals and a big structure, I want everyone in the alliance to be equal and I want it, simply, to be a military and intelligence alliance.
 
Bump so this discussion doesn't die. Following the launching of the Monarch League I'd like to expedite this discussion and get the Helmebaine Alliance started.
 
I like the idea of the military and intelligence collaborative, makes for a good early warning system. Also people would have to slip past multiple foreign intelligence services.
 
As do I, hence why I created this idea. XD
Still, that said, in order to get this thing moving, we need 2 things:

1. A seal for the alliance. I'm picturing a Great Eagle in the center and text saying "SEAL OF THE HELMEBAINE ALLIANCE" wrapped around the circle surrounding the eagle. The circle would have the aforementioned text in it and would be a glimmering gold, to represent LoTR's aesthetic influence, as the One Ring is also a glimmering gold.

2. A small, basic charter outlining how the alliance will cooperate and how new members enter. I prefer an invite-only system, so we can choose.

3. A list of members. So far this would be Cronaal, Ceretis, Eumenor, Syrixia and Trinster if I'm correct.
 
I sent a request for the seal to Plembobria. All we need now is that seal and the Alliance is a-go. The other two things will be put on the OP of the alliance's page.
 
I wasn't aware you had a question. What was it? Maybe I'll remember it or at the least be able to answer it.

Anyways, update. The seal is still not here. I plan to wait until the end of next week and if it's not done by then we'll go seal-less.

Sure! I think Plemby has about 5 days left to do the seal, if he doesn't I can do it on Saturday. Regardless the alliance will begin this week.
 
I think yet another intergovernmental organization is pointless unless there is some opposition to ally against. A split between DU and NPTO nations would make for an interesting cold war; unfortunately I think too many countries here are liberal democracies for there to be any serious ideological worldwide conflict. Casting aside the "democratic peace" theory, we can have a global cold conflict over regional interests or whatnot. Then, an alliance of sorts would make sense.
 
Pirates are nothing -- a single well-equipped nation's navy could sweep them away. I think most of these anti-pirate joint international missions are primarily for the publicity, so that each participating nation can tell its citizens, "Hey, I'm doing something!" Pirates nowadays are nothing scary, at any rate.
 
It would be interesting if a nation started granting letters of marque, and selling top notch equipment to these privateers. Not so hot to trot after that. If it's profitable enough, these privateers could even prey upon military vessels.
 
Or another idea- perhaps we could use the Eden Redeemers as a way to band together and create the alliance?
 
Or everyone could team up against me and crush me within several hours, but I'd prefer not to go down that road. :)

Thats actually a very poor idea. Because at the moment these psuedo-sponsored organizations like the Nierran Redeemers and the Andulan LSM (and potentially other groups) are large, and partially protected as well as quiet well funded. And forming an alliance for the singular effect of going after groups like that could unite them which could lead to thousands of times more destruction then if they are not poked. They are more focused on their individual ideological goals then lashing out at anything.
 
Hah, I've basically abandoned that option, I think we have the alliance and how it works settled. I'm more focused on the seal now; thoughts?
 
I think the seal should contain the flags of the original members in small circles on the outside with Syrixia and Eumenor in the centre, mainly due to the name.
 
It's not Latin. It's Quenya.

It means "Peace and Protection", I think.
 
I'm fairly sure that's not 'Peace and Protection' in quenya. I'll try to do a more accurate translation when I get a chance.
Are we operating on Quenya Sindarin, because I'm more familiar with Tengwar Sindarin, but I can probably work it out.
