Hello! Have you ever felt there were many things about the world of Eras you would like to know, but you couldn't really find them? Welcome to the Simplified Directory to Eras. In this thread, I will attempt to put together a table listing terms, information, and all that sort of world-building stuff with a brief description at the side, that never really made it to the forums or are just a little too hard to find. If you have something that you think would help with this endeavour, feel free to reach out to me by DM or through the TNP Roleplay Discord server!

Gojan FootballGojan Football is the Eras version of American football, originating in Goyanes. Its popularity has spread far and wide in Eras, rivalling even the likes of Association Football (or Soccer) IRL in terms of popularity.
SuthersongA provincial-level song contest in Sutherland. Kinda like the Eurovision.
Southern FirstA Sutherland expy for the English Premier League. Sutherland is one of the Eras' biggest association football (i.e., kickball as it's called in Sutherland).
Great Sutherland Chess FederationThe Sutherland's Chess Federation.
Republican Malletball AssociationThe Sutherland's association for croquet. It's uniquely called Malletball here.

MessianismMessianism is the catch-all term for Christianity in Eras. It has multiple sects and denominations that vary greatly from nation to nation.
CourantismCourantism is the Eras' version of Catholicism.
ArvinismFounded in the late 1090s CE by the Courantist priest Janus Arvinus in the dukedom of Kufen (now southern Hessunland). The Arvinist believes in the concept of “good works”: every man, woman, and child on this earth has been given the gift of a soul by god almighty, and each of us has the ability to earn salvation through active service. The Arvinist rite dictates that the faithful must take the lead in their salvation, each must be his own Messiah and contribute to the great work of making a kinder and more pious world for all. Considered somewhat heretical by mainstream Messianists. Primarily found in the South Ethian Empire and the Þeksian south.
Ierisian ChurchThe Eiyglish national church, officially the Evangelical Apostolic Episcopal Church of Christ of Ieris, is a Protestant church in Eiygland. It has a distinct manner of worship, from the formal liturgy (incorporating elements of Courantist and [Auroralist?] practice) in the mainstream high church to sermons focused on biblical exposition in the uncommon but present low church. Druidism Sutherland's version of Insular Christianity has significantly more Animism than the IRL counterpart.
Taslim/ MehrabismTaslim (also commonly referred to by the community as Mehrabism, its grandfathered-in name) is the Eras' version of Islam. It does not have as many adherents as it does IRL, and its largest denomination is not the Ashari school of Islamic theology.
KamitoThe Eras' term for the Shinto religion, originating from Kyowara in BCE 400.

IRLIn real life. This is mostly used when comparing something fictional to a real-life term.
Grandfathered-inA term used by players to describe transplanting a pre-modern Eras lore to its modern iteration.
MercantiThe lingua franca in the world of Eras. It is, for all intents and purposes, written in the IRL English language, but IC-ly, it is nowhere near or as related to the actual semantics of English.

Worldwide events
These are Era-wide spanning events that had a huge impact on the world. Some of these events were grandfathered in before the big changes to Eras a long time ago and may vary from player to player.
*Dates are generally considered flexible, not always uniform between players. Do consult your neighbours to get an approximate IC and lore appropriate date for your world-building.

The Fascist War*subject to different regions, but generally accepted to be during the early 20th century to mid 20th century.The Eras' combined version of World War I and World War II. This war is extremely old and complicated, with lore grandfathered-in from when Eras was a very different place. It spans multiple continents and features regional alliances that vary from player to player. I cannot do this war justice in a short description, so it'll get its own post in the future.
The Meterran Flu 1912-1913It can be considered to be the Eras' version of the Spanish Flu. It spread across Eras in the space of a single year and left millions dead before ultimately burning itself out. Its arrival was both sudden and devastating to many nations.

If you want an IC-business-oriented thread, I am creating one that would look like it's listed in a stock market index. It's a very old organisation that hasn't been utilised in years, so it was most likely grandfathered in, but some of its lore is kept to maintain continuity.
World Health Authority and TribunalThe World Health Authority and Tribunal (WHAT) is a specialised agency and organisation based in Sevenoak, Great Sutherland, that handles international public health issues and emergencies related thereto. It has a number of international subsidiary offices. The WHAT's purpose is to maintain the Leiria Statute's "right to health", as ensured by the treaty of that name in 1916, in the aftermath of the Meterran flu pandemic, and was formally established in 1929. The Leiria Statute defines health as "a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity."
