David stared out the passenger window of the rented car as he, Amara, and Joseph were traveling to the palace, deep in thought...
"...This hurts for you, doesn't it. David?" Amara asked him, out of concern for her brother.
"It hurts for everyone involved. I've seen all four of our grandparents pass on, extended family, friends... But it's always the closest loved ones that hurt the most." David replied.
"Then can't those stupid rioters give them a break? Callous, arrogant I say!" bit back Joseph, referring to the riots that had been appearing throughout Kanada.
Amara frowned sadly, closed her eyes, and shook her head in disbelief, because Joseph is right. "I do agree. Now more than ever, there should be solidarity with those who grieve. They're insulting the memory their Queen, and the feelings of her children and friends. It's... simply wrong."
"Well, if they're not gonna show it, then at least we will." David added, snapping out of his melancholy mood.
Their transport had just arrived outside the entrance. There, they made their way inside, and respectfully made their way to Grace III and... her mother - may she rest in peace.
David was wearing his mostly-black dress uniform, bare of any medals he'd sometimes wear to events. Joseph chose a casual black and dark gray suit-and-tie combo. While Amara - walking in the middle of the two - wore a somewhat frilly, but simple long black dress. The mood in the room was somber.
First they stood there at the casket to offer their respects to the late-Queen. David bowed his head and closed his eyes in silence, as if in prayer. The other two followed suit. "Amen..." he quietly said, ending the prayer. Then they turned to the grieving princess, Grace III.
"Your highness." David addressed her, humbly and with respect, hands clasped together in front of him. "We offer our condolences and hope that with time, the pain will pass away. ...But I'm also allowed to say that the people of Thenaca are willing to stand with the people of Kanada during this hard time. And we're offering to help bring peace back to your nation, in whatever ways you and your people need." Then they choose some seats just behind the first row.
