Attendees across Eras are invited to the event, and the soon-to-be Queen has requested her childhood friend, Katherine A. Kjellner of the Andrennian Royal Family to attend the event. Grace II’s coffin sits still, the top closed. Her daughter sits across from it, sniffling quietly. The heirs husband, Emperor Marten Severyn, sat by her side and comforts her, arm around her as she silently cries into his chest. The queen’s friend, former Prime Minister Johann Leonit, steps down from the podium after completing the speech. The royal family and the queens close friends stand and applaud. The private funeral is completed. The public one will take place on the 4th. Soon-to-be Queen Grace III stands with her husband and holds his hand as they sluggishly walk out.

Early Morning, Gojannesstad International Airport

As the motorcade rolled through town, the sirens could be heard all about. They finally pulled up to the airplane, and the Grand Emperor, Empress-Consort, and their two children boarded the long-haul airliner, along with aides and security guards. It was a long flight to Kanada, but they were there to represent Goyanes and the Kjellse-Tages Family, and to honor one of their contemporaries, who had recently fallen ill, and later passed.

The plane lifted into the skies, with its usual Rafale fighter escort. The escort would continue with the plane until it was out of Goyanean airspace.

The jetliner touched down in Calgary in the early afternoon. They were received with a honor guard and red carpet, and were directed to their limousines, which would take them to their resort, where they would stay during the duration of the trip.

Leader of Duelist Erick II, Her Highness Abbie Duel, Eternal Leader Erick Duel I and Her Highness Sarah Duel arrive at Duel Int. Airport. They board on Duel 747 with their security guards and advisors. They travel to Calgary, Kanada to remember and honor the beloved Queen.

Duel 747 reaches Calgary in the noon, they were greeted with Kanada Guards and were driven to The Surguard Resort where they will be staying overnight

Early Morning of Her Majesty's Funeral, en route to SAA Kanada

President Ziska Josef shifted her body on the bench seat, trying to find a position that didn't put either her legs or her butt to sleep, and wondered—not for the first time—if the Nachtschrat's designers had gone out of their way to procure the most uncomfortable seats they could find. Either way, they'd succeeded. Then again, it was a military VTOL electric-jet aircraft, not a commercial first-class airliner.

The glamor of saving the taxpayers money, she thought, extending her foot and stretching her calf. Even so… She pulled back the left sleeve of her black hemp blouse over her elbow and, with a quick flick of the wrist, a display projected across her forearm from a magnesium-aluminum alloy bracelet. She tapped the SMS application and sent off a brief text to War Officer Balck about the possibility of retrofitting the Fliegertruppe's seats with some from Wolfensjaeger's automotive industry.

The trip to Kalti merely days before was much more pleasant; this craft would have violated Merilian neutrality, so she'd taken a commercial flight courtesy of Wolfensjaeger's Luftmarck AG. Ziska swore she could still smell the musky smoke of wood as it released years of energy, the distinct scent of pine, and feel the heat from Beltane's fire…

"It's a hell of a thing," Außenministerin [State Officer] Athala Nachtwolf said.

"What?"

"Kanada's rioting."

"Better to use the right inappropriately than not use it at all."

"I suppose."

They both looked up from a quick rap on the cockpit door across the cabin. The soldier standing guard flattened his palm outward to signal five minutes before returning it to his assault rifle. There was always at least a fireteam in full battle rattle accompanying the Präsidentin on flights. Not necessarily for security, but to meet and remain responsive to those active under her command.

"What are our accommodations until the coronation?" Ziska asked.

"What you'd expect from the Kanadians."

"You had them bill us personally?"

"Of course."

"I'm going to love seeing the taxes on that receipt…"

"Deduction," Athala said with a grin.

Ziska looked quizzically at her foreign minister. "Do we need to file Kanadian tax on capital gains? I've never received anything."

Athala waved it away, a pallid glow briefly resting on her high cheekbones from the news displayed inside her rectangular glass lenses. "Ask Heinrich, but I wouldn't rock the boat."

"Do I ever?" Ziska asked, quickly texting her Treasury Officer.

"Sometimes… It seems the weather is even bitter at the Queen's passing."

The Nachtschrat decelerated.

"Great," Ziska muttered with a sigh. "What's the damage?"

"Negative seven centigrade."

"Lovely…"

The grip-textured floor came up under their feet as the aircraft descended.

"We can have the good Feldwebel here give you an anti-freezing peptide."

Ziska shook her head and rolled her sleeve back down. "That won't be necessary."

Landing gear dropped with a soft whir of hidden machinery, and the Nachtschrat touched down smoothly. They stood and Ziska slipped on the same dress shoes she'd been issued in the Sturmgruppe: shined leather pumps with stainless steel, 7.62-centimeter spool heels polished to a mirror finish. Wrapping sleek bear cloaks around their shoulders, they headed for the exit. The four soldiers uniformly snapped off crisp salutes to the browline of their skull-like helmets, and Ziska paused to return the courtesy. With a muted pffft, the hatch unsealed and brushless motors silently lowered the ramp to the tarmac. The pair disembarked toward the flagged, dark luxury sedan that would take them to the funeral.

Katherine wasn't too happy to have to stop studying for her finals, but it was for one of her longtime friends, and she could use a vacation anyways.. Her whole family was coming, which was nice because despite not being that far away from them she didn't go to visit often. The 5 royals, Katherine, her father, mother, and two brothers, were escorted by the Knight's Guard to Mitta Intl. Airport, where they boarded a nice private jet, which was being escorted by the Royal Air Force.

The flight was long.. And boring. Katherine was asleep for most of the flight. She didn't look like much of a Crown Princess right now. The 20 year old princess was wearing a dark blue hoodie that had some Andrennian writing on it below an Andrennian flag- Something she had picked up at a gift shop in Mitta despite living in Andrenne. It said 'Andrensk Furnogal!' in a fancy font. She was also wearing gray sweatpants and some dirty old sneakers. Her hair was in a messy bun, and she had no make-up on. Her mother, (Grand) Queen of Andrenne, Evelyn Kjellner, had told her to at least put some lipstick on before the flight, so she did, but then she wiped it off as soon as she sat down. She had deep bags under her eyes from countless nights without sleep. When they arrived in Kanada, similar to the Tages' entrance they were given a red carpet but Katherine was still tired so she didn't really pay attention to the press.

They got in a prearranged ride to the fancy Surgaurd Resort. The Knight's Guard escort got their own separate rooms away from the Royal Family. Katherine texted Grace telling her that they had arrived in the hotel, and then she laid down on her bed for awhile watching Kanadian TV. If only she actually knew Kanadian. She searched for an Andrennian or Mercanti channel while waiting for a text back from Grace.

Prime Minister David Drake and Prime Advisor Amara Drake set out early in the morning (~7:00AM) for the Talmain Air and Naval base, where their issued transport - a small civilian jet, was waiting. Also waiting inside for them were the rest of Talon Team One, the same squad of special forces personal that David and Amara belonged to. They soon took off on the long trip towards Calgary, Kanada.
While the Minister of Interior, their good cousin Joseph Burns, called in saying he had something last minute to do. And so he would catch up later in the afternoon. And when he did (around 2:00PM), he tagged along in another small plane, which was also carrying the entirety of Talon Team Two.

David and Amara landed in Calgary a little past noon (~2:00PM), where a simple retinue of two rented cars awaited to take them to the Surguard Resort.
Joseph's trip was similar in duration, arriving in Calgary far in the evening (~9:00PM). Since David and Amara had already settled in, the rented cars came back for Joseph and his entourage, where they finally joined up with the others not much later.

(OOC: Uh, permission to edit number of guards to 10? I screwed up by just one man. Lol)

The Dorsettian delegation stepped off the flight from Norvalle, which was once again an ordinary passenger flight in the economy class just as Princess Claidie liked, and moved quickly towards the baggage claim. Even Claidie, following her wreck at Westton almost a week prior, was moving much better since then and kept up with the group. Their baggage collected, the party acquired a trio of taxis to make their way to The Surguard Resort where they were staying for the night.

The party reserved three rooms with three occupants each. Claidie, Madeline, and the lone female security guard settled into their room for the night, giving Madeline an opportunity to address the princess's recovery.

"Claidie, I was thinking about how you're returning home after the funeral. Did the SAA[note]In this context, SAA refers to the Silien Automotive Association, the governing body of Sil Dorsettian auto racing, not the first letters of SAA Kanada.[/note] even clear you for the weekend?" Madeline asked.

Claidie shrugged as she gave her answer. "Yeah, I had my physical yesterday and the doctor said I was fine. But... I, um... I reworked our reservations anyways. I'm staying the weekend, and I'll go to the coronation if they can still fit me in."

"Really..." Madeline replied. "I'm surprised. You usually don't like events like this. What made you change your mind?"

"I... just... wanted some time off the track. And maybe I could learn some things about diplomatic mingling while I'm at it," Claidie responded.

"Hmm... Suit yourself," Madeline said. "Now, get some rest. It's going to be long, somber day tomorrow. Just remember to be respectful of the other visiting delegations, especially the royal ones, and if necessary, let me and Will do the talking."

"Yeah... I hear you."

Grace yawned and looked at her phone. She noticed the notification was from Kathrine and opened it. Kathrine had made it to the hotel. Grace texted back,
Thats great. Cant wait to see u tomorrow.
She sighed and put her phone back on the bedside table, before slumping down and beginning to doze off.

OCC: Yes, mt, you can.

The Ceretian embassy staff and Kanadian representatives greeted the royal family as they disembarked from their aircraft. It was the usual red carpet and press event, but it seemed to be hollow. The events coming up would be far from the jovial festival they had just left in Kalti. The gloomy mood of the upcoming funeral seemed almost tangible in the land, the people, and even down to the brief light drizzle of rain in the air. They made their way to the motorcade of black vehicles waiting nearby, it seemed to fit the mood. Owen and Morgan's younger siblings were back home with their father, who was busy with matters at home; as well their older siblings were away on state matters and unable to attend. It was however important for Tsarina Maggie to see her friend Queen Grace's burial, and for Owen and Morgan to be there for their friend Princess Grace.

The motorcade made its way to the Surgaurd Resort where they had a set of rooms reserved for the family and their staff. Morgan and Owen were rather quiet on the ride, unusual for them, only sending out a couple texts to princess Grace as they watched the city pass by outside.

Make up covers Grace’s puffy, red eyes. She spent a lot of yesterday crying, mourning, and reading. Her puffy black dress went down to her knees, it used to be her mother’s, when she attended her own mother’s funeral. Grace turned to look at the Prime Minister, Johann Leonit, who was motioning for her to stand up. She stood shakily and walked over to him,
“Madam, it is time for the public funeral.” He said to her and she nodded. She followed him into a large room on the left wing of the palace. She looked over at the empty rows of benches, and turned her head over to the front of the room, where an open casket was situated.
Grace walked over to the casket and looked in at her late mother. She stared at the body for a moment before walking to a chair which was situated next to the coffin. She sat down and waited for the others to arrive.
-------------------------------
The camera crews arrive minutes later, and set up multiple microphones, lights, and cameras to capture the event and stream it on TV, to the Kanadian public.
-------------------------------
(OOC: This RP is no longer rl time. I’ll let ya’ll know when it’s the next day, but don’t feel too rushed to post your arrival to the funeral.)

Marten dressed in a full black suit and walked down the empty rows to the center to the room with Grace. He then stared at the former queen’s body thinking of all the times they talked and interacted. Marten then preceded to lean down beside of Grace and embraced her, taking her into his arms and then sit down beside of her comforting her the whole time.

Claidie, Madeline, and Will arrived in the palace wing, and while Madeline and Will were more focused on their seating, Claidie focused on the soon-to-be Kanadian Queen. Seeing the other two not follow, she ordered them to stay nearby, incensed over their desire to stay out of the spotlight rather than put forth a display of solidarity with Grace III. The Princess approached Grace III a smile and offered a conciliatory hug, expressing her sorrow like she did at Beltane. She then offered to stand by Grace's side for as long as she wished.

Madeline and Will conversed amongst themselves over the Princess's unusual behavior. Never had they seen such formality and respect from her, having only witnessed rebelliousness in the past. They granted her the fact that this was a funeral after all, but were still curious about Claidie's sudden shift in attitude, especially towards royalty, and whether it was temporary or not.

David stared out the passenger window of the rented car as he, Amara, and Joseph were traveling to the palace, deep in thought...

"...This hurts for you, doesn't it. David?" Amara asked him, out of concern for her brother.

"It hurts for everyone involved. I've seen all four of our grandparents pass on, extended family, friends... But it's always the closest loved ones that hurt the most." David replied.

"Then can't those stupid rioters give them a break? Callous, arrogant I say!" bit back Joseph, referring to the riots that had been appearing throughout Kanada.

Amara frowned sadly, closed her eyes, and shook her head in disbelief, because Joseph is right. "I do agree. Now more than ever, there should be solidarity with those who grieve. They're insulting the memory their Queen, and the feelings of her children and friends. It's... simply wrong."

"Well, if they're not gonna show it, then at least we will." David added, snapping out of his melancholy mood.

Their transport had just arrived outside the entrance. There, they made their way inside, and respectfully made their way to Grace III and... her mother - may she rest in peace.
David was wearing his mostly-black dress uniform, bare of any medals he'd sometimes wear to events. Joseph chose a casual black and dark gray suit-and-tie combo. While Amara - walking in the middle of the two - wore a somewhat frilly, but simple long black dress. The mood in the room was somber.
First they stood there at the casket to offer their respects to the late-Queen. David bowed his head and closed his eyes in silence, as if in prayer. The other two followed suit. "Amen..." he quietly said, ending the prayer. Then they turned to the grieving princess, Grace III.

"Your highness." David addressed her, humbly and with respect, hands clasped together in front of him. "We offer our condolences and hope that with time, the pain will pass away. ...But I'm also allowed to say that the people of Thenaca are willing to stand with the people of Kanada during this hard time. And we're offering to help bring peace back to your nation, in whatever ways you and your people need." Then they choose some seats just behind the first row.

Anthony, Claire, and their daughters walked into the palace wing. They walked down the aisle, passing the body of the late-Queen. Anthony and Claire mumbled a short prayer under their breath, and proceeded to take a seat. As their daughters sat, Anthony and his wife walked over to Grace III. They offered her a hug, and returned to their seats.

Katherine was there before the rest of her family, to try and comfort Grace before the funeral actually started. She was wearing a shorter black dress, that went to around her knees. It wasn't a very frilly dress either. She had black high heels on- Normally Katherine hated wearing them but for Grace, she didn't care. She had a fair bit of makeup on. She walked down the aisle until she got to Grace, looked down at her for a second, and then gave her a big hug. "I'm so sorry for you loss Gracie.. I know that doesn't really mean anything to someone who's mourning, but take it from me- It'll get better soon." She held onto the hug for awhile, and took an empty seat next to her. Katherine had recently lost someone as well, just earlier in the year- Well technically late last year. Her grandfather, former Grand King of Andrenne, Jonas VIII, who she had been close with while growing up had died of heart problems in October. It had been a tough time for Kathy, but things got better. She wanted to talk to Grace until the rest of her family arrived, so she waited next to her until that happened.

The sedan glided smoothly up to the palace entrance like a shark among fish.

"Ready to face the Kanadian media?" Athala asked with a devilish grin, knowing the president's general disdain for all things even remotely resembling modern journalism.

Ziska scowled at her as they unfolded their customary shawls. "Verpiss dich[1]! They're far more concerned with the proceedings, as they should be."

They draped the black lace shawls over their head and shoulders, letting them fall naturally, and affixed them with hidden clips to remain in place against the bear cloaks. The silver fringe twined along the borders of the garment provided a subtle contrast to their otherwise dark outfits. The pair entered the palace and paid their respects to Kanada's late monarch, whispering a traditional contemplative benediction. They curtseyed before Grace III, expressed their sympathy and support, and then found their seats.

[1] The Mercanti equivalent is "piss off," though sometimes it's a stronger vulgarity.

As the train shunted into the station its doors were flung open. 120 soldiers in their long great coats, spilled onto the platforms. They were veterans of the fighting in Scallendovia, come to pay their respects to the late leader of their allies. Also debarking was the People's Crown Princess Rokotov, on her first state visit. She looked around at the foreign land, almost lost in the road of soldierswith her nearly identical attire, but she wasn't lost for long. A ring of twenty Royal guard seemed to appear out of thin air and whisked her towards a car to take her to the funeral. The soldiers formed into their sections and waited for a Kanadisn official to directvthem to where they would present their honour guard.

The motorcade was finishing its journey through the city, a large crowd had gathered outside the palace nearly filling every open space. Reporters giving updates for countless media outlets stood near the fence line which was now covered in flowers. candles, and gifts from the public. The Kanadian police had cordoned off the entryway and were keeping the crowds from filling the roadway leading to the event. All 'unofficial traffic' had been detoured around for safety reasons. As the motorcade approached, the police could see the diplomatic plates and the small blue and white Ceretian flag mounted on the vehicle, with that they pulled the barricade and let them pass.

Once the vehicles stopped it was only a matter of minutes before the family were walking toward the entrance. Maggie was dressed in a slightly more traditional black dress, fur wrap, pearls, and a tasteful small black hat. Morgan was dressed somewhat similar but in a more modern sleek styling and hat while Owen wore a black three piece suit, overcoat, and hat. The Tsarina looked them over one last time before the entered the palace.

Walking into the room the family paused at the casket to pay their respects, and to say a couple prayers in silence. It was strange for them, for Maggie to see her friend laying there simply too soon; and for Owen and Morgan to see their friends mother who was always so kind to them, just one last time. It was a bit too much for Maggie as tears filled her eyes, she quickly grabbed her handkerchief from her purse to dry her eyes. The twins managed for now to keep their composure, but you could still see the sorrow on their faces just barely held back. With one last parting touch farewell each placed a lily on the casket and headed to see Grace III sitting nearby.

The family spent a few minutes talking with Grace, giving consolation, and reminiscing. As each moved on they gave a parting condolence and a hug before starting to head to their seats. Before Owen headed to his seat he reminded Grace "we're here with you, if you need anything or just want to spend time."

With that they found some seats near the aisle way near the front and sat down watching as more guests arrived. Morgan searched through her purse for a moment before finding her rosary, and began to quietly pray for the repose of Grace's soul.
