Comment on Current Endorsement Ranking

Just like to add my information that Unter is in fact now endorsing 589 nations as opposed to the 452 the counter currently lists him as endorsing.

Also, the nation of "Free Opinion" may be worth watching; endorsing 200 nations and I have no record of it endorsing anyone prior to March.
 
Mum, what do you mean it went poofity on you? Though I have access to it, perhaps Erm should take a look at it?
 
I'm starting to think we really need to divide this thread -- one for the actual link to the scanner, and the archived results that are posted, and the other for all othe other comments. What do y'all think?
 
Agreed. Only now I think I'm understanding this whole endorsement thing. The things you learn when you have finally have some free time.
 
Out of curiousity has anyone had a reply from Free Opinion? I ask because he has endorsed me as well.
 
Yes. Free Opinion has taken up my offer to come to the boards, explore for a bit, and get more acquainted with our society.
 
IIRC, Free Opinion has applied for RA membership.

I will work on dividing this thread in the next fre days. Gotta deal with the election ballot verification as a election commissioner) and that will take a bit of time.
 
Sorry to bring this up again, but I just want to point out that Former English Colony has slowly made it to the top of the list on endotarting. Wouldn't this be suspicious if it wasnt' our beloved rodent friend? :bunny:

Former English Colony is a former Delegate of The North Pacific and Forum Moderator of NationStates, so can be trusted to have a high endorsement count.

Cadre, in the event that I am overtaken, and the Vice-Delegate does not have the influence to withstand a ban, former Delegates/Vice Delegate such as FEC generally maintain a good standing within the ranks to ensure that *someone* is there to sweep in and reclaim the Delegacy for the legitimate government. FEC, while having the most influence in the region and having a high endo-level, has unofficially if you will been charged to do that. Sorry Eras darlin', it's the way the cookie crumbles.
 
Why hello again CI! Nice to see ya. Are you still on that idea that I'm going to overthrow the government and society I've worked so hard to keep in place and stable? Since it appears so, feel free to keep it up, as it makes me laugh everytime I see it. ^_^

As for the issue of other people doing the same thing, we're watching. We didn't bring it up as in issue with FEC because we know it's not an issue with her. If it had been another nation, we would definately have discussed it.

Seems we have a rather cute problem, I know I have 319 endos while it is reporting 278. Erm, could this be looked at?

It can.

I'm 99% sure that the reason for this is crud sticking in the database. The script has no support for handling a history (only a single state in time), and must therefore clean out the region before it re-archives. However, when nations move between scans, it ends up a mess. They won't be deleted because they're not in the region, and their endorsements therefore remain.

For future reference, emptying the entire database (there's an option in the admin panel) will solve this problem. I'm doing it right now... done. Now just wait for the re-scan to complete.

And yes, I have started working on the next version. It'll take a while, that's all.

IMHO there is still potential issue with "Free Opinion", currently at rank 6 behind well-known nations and <50 away from HC. Free Opinion is RA member but has only 2 posts.
 
I don't believe there have. But we could always manufacture a terrorist threat to consolidate the support of the sheeple.
