I'm kinda loopy today. It's odd. Also, I need to go grocery shopping. I wanna take Chels with me so she can show me what to buy.

All the time, and I will pay one day for my intractability. :D

I hadn't logged into Facebook at least since the Japan earthquake and tsunami because I didn't want to be exposed to everyones dumbass opinion. I decided to wait for a bit because I knew the average US user of facebook has the attention span of a, well I don't know what, lets just say they don't have an attention span. I logged in today and it is all march madness and St. Patrick's day, ahhh, wash over me with your numbing banality. Let me soak in your insipid insights.

Wait, if you "have to be" generous, that's an obligation. Generosity is a state of the heart, not something imposed on you. I was talking to my son about organized religions and their need for support through charitable contributions. Some churches have programs, worship services and outreaches that encourage participation because there are perceived benefits. Others rely on teachings that define a certain percentage of one's income as a proper donation. One I know of makes it a sin not to show up with your offering. Which do you suppose is the best at raising money?

I am so mad about people donating to Japan! It just shows a slavish devotion to what is trendy. Hey idiot, why not instead of donating to the third largest economy in the world (was the 2nd until a few months ago), you donate to Haiti where people are still dying from easily preventable cholera??? But no, instead I have some smarmy guy on my facebook saying he was going to get a new TV, but those people in Japan needed the money more. Wow, bravo! What a Saint! What a martyr! Poor poor american just wants to satisfy his yearning for consumer electronics, but must sacrifice to the gods of public perception instead,. cry:

I was going to mention that it would have been like Japan giving the Red Cross money for disaster relief in New Orleans, but I didn't. Besides, we all know how ludicrous that would be! We (the US) have a government that is top-notch at taking care of its own citizens. :D I still remember almost crying seeing all of the outpouring of support for victims of Katrina from the governmen...eh I can't go on being that facetious.

I've noticed lots of people are nicer and more forgiving to strangers than to their own so-called loved ones. I wonder if the above is an extrapolation of that concept.

Do you remember that password protected forum where people would go to be mean to each other or whatever? Tell me some stories about that place, I am suddenly fascinated by the idea of it. How terrible was it? Did I ever post there? Did anyone ever truly hurt anyone's feelings?

Insane Power was mean to Virtual Boy and he wasn't equipped to handle it. Other than that, I can't really recall anything that happened there. I steered clear of the place in general. It certainly wasn't as cathartic as intended. I can be brutally naive sometimes.
