Hello! Have you ever felt there were many things about the world of Eras you would like to know, but you couldn't really find them? Welcome to the Simplified Directory to Eras. In this thread, I will attempt to put together a table listing terms, information, and all that sort of world-building stuff with a brief description at the side, that never really made it to the forums or are just a little too hard to find. If you have something that you think would help with this endeavour, feel free to reach out to me by DM or through the TNP Roleplay Discord server!

This is totally not a place for me to just look up things more easily.

Odinspyl	The Odinspyl is the Eras version of the Olympics, which originated as a pagan event to honour Odin in ancient Goyanes.
The Aurorian Games	A similar concept to the Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games) in the region of the Aurorias. Given the highly volatile nature of the region, expect constant political snarky remarks from governments, infighting and shitposting online in Twitcher. It is organised by the Aurorian Games Committee.
Gojan Football	Gojan Football is the Eras version of American football, originating in Goyanes. Its popularity has spread far and wide in Eras, rivalling even the likes of Association Football (or Soccer) IRL in terms of popularity.
Suthersong	A provincial-level song contest in Sutherland. Kinda like the Eurovision.
Southern First	A Sutherland expy for the English Premier League. Sutherland is one of the Eras' biggest association football (i.e., kickball as it's called in Sutherland).
Great Sutherland Chess Federation	The Sutherland's Chess Federation.
Republican Malletball Association	The Sutherland's association for croquet. It's uniquely called Malletball here.
Zenvision	A Kyonese expy of Eurovision, but restricted to Kyowara nationwide.

Name	Description
Messianism	Messianism is the catch-all term for Christianity in Eras. It has multiple sects and denominations that vary greatly from nation to nation.
Courantism	Courantism is the Eras' version of Catholicism.
Arvinism	Founded in the late 1090s CE by the Courantist priest Janus Arvinus in the dukedom of Kufen (now southern Hessunland). The Arvinist believes in the concept of “good works”: every man, woman, and child on this earth has been given the gift of a soul by god almighty, and each of us has the ability to earn salvation through active service. The Arvinist rite dictates that the faithful must take the lead in their salvation, each must be his own Messiah and contribute to the great work of making a kinder and more pious world for all. Considered somewhat heretical by mainstream Messianists. Primarily found in the South Ethian Empire and the Þeksian south.
Ierisian Church	The Eiyglish national church, officially the Evangelical Apostolic Episcopal Church of Christ of Ieris, is a Protestant church in Eiygland. It has a distinct manner of worship, from the formal liturgy (incorporating elements of Courantist and [Auroralist?] practice) in the mainstream high church to sermons focused on biblical exposition in the uncommon but present low church. Primarily found in Eiygland and the Þeksian north
Amendism	Sutherland's version of Protestantism.
Druidism	Sutherland's version of Insular Christianity has significantly more Animism than the IRL counterpart.
Taslim/ Mehrabism	Taslim (also commonly referred to by the community as Mehrabism, its grandfathered-in name) is the Eras' version of Islam. It does not have as many adherents as it does IRL, and its largest denomination is not the Ashari school of Islamic theology.
Kamito	The Eras' term for the Shinto religion, originating from Kyowara in BCE 400.

Acronyms and commonly used terms

Name	Description
OOC (-ly)	Used to describe "out-of-character" discussions, posts, etc. That is to say, when this term is used, the subject of the matter would typically be considered not "in character" of the user's nation or person of said nation.
IC (-ly)	Used to describe "in-character" discussions, posts, etc. When this term is used, the subject of the matter would be considered "in character" of the user's nation or person of said nation.
IRL	In real life. This is mostly used when comparing something fictional to a real-life term.
Grandfathered-in	A term used by players to describe transplanting a pre-modern Eras lore to its modern iteration.
Mercanti	The lingua franca in the world of Eras. It is, for all intents and purposes, written in the IRL English language, but IC-ly, it is nowhere near or as related to the actual semantics of English.

These are Era-wide spanning events that had a huge impact on the world. Some of these events were grandfathered in before the big changes to Eras a long time ago and may vary from player to player.

The Fascist War	*subject to different regions, but generally accepted to be during the early 20th century to mid 20th century.	The Eras' combined version of World War I and World War II. This war is extremely old and complicated, with lore grandfathered-in from when Eras was a very different place. It spans multiple continents and features regional alliances that vary from player to player. I cannot do this war justice in a short description, so it'll get its own post in the future.
The Meterran Flu	1912-1913	It can be considered to be the Eras' version of the Spanish Flu. It spread across Eras in the space of a single year and left millions dead before ultimately burning itself out. Its arrival was both sudden and devastating to many nations.

This is a place to find simple descriptions of businesses in Eras. Some are expys of IRL businesses, while others are unique creations of Eras players. If you want an IC-business-oriented thread, I am creating one that would look like it's listed in a stock market index. This table is subject to change depending on the number of businesses eventually added to the list. I might simplify it into a simple point-form list divided by the country.

Nuage.com	A cloud-storage company and Santonian expy of Cloudflare. It is one of the largest cloud storage and cloud computing companies in the world of Eras.
Antinomy	A videogame developer known for grand-strategy games such as Crusader Nations, Eras Universalis, Alexandria, and Fists of Iron. A Santonian expy of Paradox Interactive.
Vapour	A Santonian expy of Steam. Originated from Saintonge.
Arts Électroniques	A Stantonian expy of Electronic Arts. It is a subsidiary of Jeux saintongeaises (JS, Santonian Games), most famous for making the game Quatris.
MAXXIS	A Santonian expy of Maxis, developer of the Les Peeps series.
Pêche	A Santonian expy of Apple. The word itself means Peach. It is known for its phones, but it also produces computers that are very popular in Saintonge.
Nolf	A Santonian company known for its computers, but it also produces phones. It has a big government contract to provide satellite phones to the military and diplomats. Not a direct expy.
terrebonne	A Santonian agricultural cooperative modelled after New Zealand's Fonterra.

Xenon	A Santonian expy of Canon.
FSS	A Santonian expy of TSMC (Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company Limited).
JaloC	A Santonian expy of NVidia that focuses on manufacturing GPUs.

Ouellette-Paccard	A Santonian producer of desktop computers, monitors, and peripheral devices. It is one of Saintonge's three most popular laptop manufacturers, alongside Lenouveau and Pêche.
Lenouveau	A Santonian expy of Lenovo. It is one of Saintonge's three most popular laptop manufacturers, alongside Ouellette-Paccard and Pêche.
Tranchant	A Santonian expy of the Sharp Corporation.

International Associated Council of Justice	The International Associated Council of Justice (IACJ, or International Council) is an organisation of three international courts of law (arbitration, justice and criminal affairs, and human rights) hosted in Eamont, founded in 1953 following the resolution of the Fascist Wars largely in favour of the democracies of Eras.
International Allied Press	The Eras' equivalent of the Associated Press. Posts made with this banner are meant to be objective and fairly unbiased, and no one is to IC-ly use the IAP as propaganda for their countries.
GlobaLink	GlobaLink is a global airline alliance founded in 2001 by Hexastalian Airways, Air Scalvia, AirKyowara, and Sutherland Airways. The alliance’s stated objective is to connect its members and be the first choice of the world’s international travellers.
Federation of Scientific Organisations	The Federation of Scientific Organisations (FOS, Fédération des organisations scientifiques) is an international, non-governmental organisation founded in 1907 to promote scientific cooperation across disciplines and among scientists of different nationalities.
Food Security Organisation	Founded in 1956 in the wake of the Fascist War, what began as a loose organisation of neutral nations looking to provide relief to war-torn countries soon grew into a formal organisation dedicated to ensuring the stability of food production and fair prices. Former belligerents from both sides of the War were invited to strengthen the group's food and agricultural output. The FSO is headquartered in Saintes, the capital of the Kingdom of Saintonge.
Eras Health Council	The Eras Health Council was established to promote global cooperation in controlling and eradicating disease and advancing healthcare among its signatory nations. The headquarters of the Eras Health Council are located in the city of Yâsilb'ayar in the Stan Yera. It's a very old organisation that hasn't been utilised in years, so it was most likely grandfathered in, but some of its lore is kept to maintain continuity.
World Health Authority and Tribunal	The World Health Authority and Tribunal (WHAT) is a specialised agency and organisation based in Sevenoak, Great Sutherland, that handles international public health issues and emergencies related thereto. It has a number of international subsidiary offices. The WHAT's purpose is to maintain the Leiria Statute's "right to health", as ensured by the treaty of that name in 1916, in the aftermath of the Meterran flu pandemic, and was formally established in 1929. The Leiria Statute defines health as "a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity."
