The Democratic Republic of Bosnie
Monthly Congressional Issued Referendums
The Democratic Republic of Bosnie's Congress holds the power to issue referendums to the public
(through the National Public Democratic Involvement Bureau (NPDIB)) , in which voters will have the chance to vote on the issues/questions/legislation proposals or concerns that Congress wishes to collect public opinion on. If Congress issues a referendum on a legislation proposal and majority of the voters vote in favor of the legislative proposal; the proposal is sent to the President and she or he must sign it into law, or veto it. If signed into law, the proposal automatically becomes law of the land. If vetoed, Congress can issue a Veto Override Referendum, in which 3/4 of the voters and Congress will have to vote in favor of overriding the President's veto.
Bi-Monthly Publicly Signed Initiatives
Under the Bosniean Constitution, individual citizens are granted the power to propose a law or amendment to their state/province constitution or the federal constitution. The sponsor(s) of the initiative first must start an Officially Recognized Public Petition (ORPP) through their local National Public Democratic Involvement Bureau (NPDIB). The sponsor(s) must then obtain a certain number of valid signatures by the public. The signatures will then be reviewed and approved by their local National Public Democratic Involvement Bureau (NPDIB). The petition then becomes an Officially Recognized Initiative. The Initiative will then be either directly placed on the ballot for public vote without the need of Congress' approval or will have to be voted on within Congress before being allowed on the ballot; depending on the initiative framework and ideologies.
