Admin Requests

r3naissanc3r:
Can I have mod powers over "The North Pacific University" forum? Both the Global Moderators and Cabinet usergroups can moderate that forum, but WA Delegate can't.
I've gone one step further. The mask should have had its own permission set, which did not exist. So I created one, and I think I've gotten all of the areas for the Executive plus the RA and public Court, AG, and SC areas included.

Hopefully that will fix all of the access issues for the Delegate mask.

Thanks. A new mask does address access issues. However, it has no effect on moderator issues, given that those are tied to the WA Delegate usergroup. So, it hasn't helped with my original request.

I will take another look at the mod permission sets for the WA Delegate mask.

Keep in mind we're dealing with three different things. The user group (badge/mask), the permission sets (either group or user), and the forum moderation permission sets. Since you have had issues with access as well as permission sets and since the Global Mod permission set doesn't seem to fix the issue for you using a WA Delegate Group mask, I will now look at the forum permissions for that particular area. Now you know why the admin usually choose to keep their admin badge when holding a TNP office -- just to avoid this. :)

EDIT - I've checked, and the WA Delegate Group does have moderator privileges included for the University area and all subforums in that area. SO if you don't have the ability to moderate, I'm not sure where else to check.

Thanks Grosse. Eras also edited my account, and I believe her changes fixed the moderation issues I had.

I had a few requests:

- Can you please move the "TresVille" category higher up in the index page? I would personally prefer to have it above "Magicality City", but I can understand if there are objections to this. However, I believe it is reasonable that TresVille should be at least above "Hersfoldton".

TresVille includes the Cabinet and NPA forums. For both forums, it is crucial that those with access to them check them frequently for new posts, because of the nature of the material posted there. Having the TresVille category at the very bottom of the index page, even below the admin category, discourages members from regularly checking it.

- Can you please move "Lock Box" inside "Forum Operations"? Given how strict we are about keeping the number of top-level forums small, and that Lock Box is just a post dump, it hardly deserves a spot on the index page. Also, it is a staff-only forum, so it makes sense to have it inside Forum Operations.

- Likewise, can you move "Diplomatic Negotiations" inside "Delegate's Government"? This is a forum that is rarely used and only for special circumstances (as the name suggests, treaty negotiations). When it is used, it is usually only accessible by the Delegate, MoFA, and foreign dignitaries. Again, this is hardly important enough a forum to keep on the index page, and would fit much better as a sub-forum of Delegate's Government.

Thanks.

Tresville moved. Dip. Neg moved. Lock Box, I will let someone else decide.

Grosse? M&M? Flem?

The Lock Box is only visible to moderators Global Mods and admin, the permission groups who have the power to move appropriate posts or threads there. No one else can even see it.

When someone in one of those permission groups notices a new post or thread there then that serves as a red flag to check the Moderation HQ area for any possible discussion about it. So I don't think there's any need to move it.

I'm not the one who put TresVille where it was, but I believe that only users with appropriate maskings can see any of the areas under that heading, and only those areas that they have permissions for. So it would make sense to have it below Forum Operations where there are areas all users and guests can see.

But moving TresVille won't change the limited appropriate visibility either way. One those who have permission to see one or more of those areas will be able to see Tresville and any of the areas within it.

Since it won't matter that much, I think it's okay to have moved Tresville above Forum Operations. Guests and others with no access can't see there's even an area called that so they won't be disturbed by the move.

Personally though, everyone should just use the Active Topics link and checkin multiple times a day. Then you don't ever have to look at the main page of the forum. :P

depeterson61's TNP nation has left the region, they should be remasked as a member.

Jack Holland's TNP nation has Ceased To Exist, they should be remasked as a former citizen.

Marque has not logged into the forum in the last 30 days, they should be remasked as a citizen.

I'm not a fan of the move of Tresville area. For us non-executive TNP admins it's just another area to have to skip over and those areas are usually not listed as "private". Not that I can't do it, it's much more convenient to have Tresville at the bottom of the index page.

I assumed you meant Maruque.
depeterson61 was NPA, so he's now a citizen and NPA.
Jack Holland is done.

Isimud, Abstain, perakian, Emmanuel Bassil, Merconitonitopia, ilaydarocks, Kinzvlle and Sky Elk have all missed four legislative votes and failed to vote in the last 20 days in the Regional Assembly, they should be remasked as citizens.

These are all done. Eras forgot to post! :O

Abacathea - I'll send you the password for the voting booth. As you'll need that for private votes.

Nierr - I've closed the threads and pinned the one you requested. As to Mod, we can grant it if the Minister requests it, but it will probably need to be discussed because of your warn level. I'm not sure what the rules on that are.

Can I get this thread pinned?
http://forum.thenorthpacific.org/topic/7201799/

And maybe move this thread to the general roleplay area, it seems more suited for there:

http://forum.thenorthpacific.org/topic/7107872/1/#new

The link to this topic needs to replace the link to the old map topic:
http://forum.thenorthpacific.org/topic/7201800/

The old map claims thread and old map thread can be archived:

Could probably reduce my warn level tbh. It's been a year for almost all of them... :/

I don't think it's a good idea to reduce warn levels. By the same argument we'd then unban people too.

For convenience's sake, I'd recommend he get mod powers.

Vista Libre has missed four legislative votes and has not voted in the last 20 days in the Regional Assembly, they should be remasked as a citizen.

Tim's TNP nation has CTE'd, he should be remasked as a former citizen.

Hello esteemed admins,

Please could you remask Treize_Dreizehn from Judicial Counsel to RA Member?

He was originally AAG but was remasked to JC, because he is not AAG anymore. He is also not defense counsel anymore because the trial was dismissed. For this reason please can you now remask him to RA member?

Thank you
