ARCHIVED: A New Syrixian Protectorate!

"Apologies for my bluntness, but the Rhuvish government is the worst of the worst in the eyes of Nebula. Many citizens openly call for invasion. The only reason Nebulan soldiers are not liberating West Rhuvanland as we speak and putting socialists at the top of a provisional republic is that we hope that this conference may accomplish something in the way of returning human rights to West Rhuvanland and pruning back the power of the fascist state there."

(OOC: I hope you realize that in the present Kannex and Syrixia are conversing about a Rhuvish unification.)

"While it's obvious that West Rhuvanland is not under a fascist regime," Liesel interjected, "I would like to point that even if it was it is just as bad a crime to interfere in their internal affairs. Now then, may we continue with the peace agreement?"

"We have stated our demands," said the Emperator, unflappable as ever. "And West Rhuvanland has stated theirs. Now an accord must be drafted before any further debate and deliberation can occur."

"With respect, Ms. Liesel, the only reason the Nebulan cowards are not invading our land is because they know they will only make our terrain less flat with mountains of Nebulan corpses."

Klinger continued. "In addition, we have little discussion to be made with an empire so hypocritical, so imperialist as Nebula. It admits its imperialism. It admits its fanatical, blatant desire to conquer the world. You, I -- the East, the West, Syrixia is at risk of this weird power fantasy. Men like the Emperator here ought to be locked up in mental hospitals, but the full lot of mental hospitals in the region could not dare hope to lock up the mad ambition and arrogance of the Emperator and his Nebulan government. We are not a fascist government -- we don't have to debate it, because such an accusation is wild beyond dreams. We did what we could -- emergency decrees and executive actions -- to contain the attack committed none other than Nebula itself, and she dares to tell us we are violating 'human rights' in locking up her saboteurs and spies." Klinger gave a laugh. "Had this not been a diplomatic discussion, I would've thought this were some fantasy novel! An empire so blatantly evil!"

"Oh, don't be so overconfident," said the Emperator. "If I wanted to I could have a drone strike called in on your home in 10 minutes. The only train I've not done so is that I believe there is a legitimate chance for peace. Perhaps that makes me delusional, but as I recall that was the entire point if this conference?"

"Yes, Imperator." said Liesel. Regardless of our differences we must learn to agree to disagree, and look to the future instead of the past; in the name of peace and safety for both Rhuvanland, west and east, and Nebula, as well as Syrixia. Now then, I propose this for an accord." Liesel then proceeded to get out a document she had prepared. The following is a brief summary of what it said:

1. Nebula shall not attack or monitor West Rhuvanland in any way, and West Rhuvanland shall not attack or monitor Nebula.

2. Nebula will pay reparations to West Rhuvanland for the damages caused as they were the attackers, and West Rhuvanland will accept these.

3. Nebula will rescind all claims to West Rhuvanland and abandon its interests there. Nebula and West Rhuvanland will work towards peace and understanding.

"Reparations are unacceptable, especially keeping in mind that the only Nebulan soldiers to enter Rhuvanland recently are these fine gentlemen accompanying me."

"Brigade 2056 was a group of socialist West Rhuvish exiles who wanted to see the Rhein government overthrown. They came to us for help. We have a policy of supporting socialist groups and governments, and so we gave them some training and funds."

"But that means you still had a part in it. So, here's an edited proposition. Instead of you paying all the reparations, they are split 75/25 between Brigade 2056 and Nebula respectively."

"Anyways, Nebula still helped the Brigade regardless. The majority of the reparation money can be conjured up by loans made or possibly home-generated money. Regardless, perhaps we can lower the price to 20%?"
