Ceretis:
To all nations, we are still seeking the following:
Military:
-Dignitary harbor and coastal touring ship, etc)
We have a vessel we would be willing to part with which I believe you may find may meet your needs for the purpose described:
This is the USDKY Epiphany. It was built by the Auburin institute of Naval Architecture as a proof-of-concept for some of our then-untested biomaterials. The hull is entirely formed of solid, yet pliant laminated bioresins, the sails and the cordage are comprised of a blend of GM silks, while the masts, spars, and decking are an extruded bacterial cellulose indistinguishable from natural wood--except for its weather and insect resistant qualities. It has been in use for the last seven years as a training vessel for professional and amateur sailors, both Sadakhan and tourist, and has proven reliable and sturdy, even in our inherently rough seas.
The Epiphany's specifications are: overall length 106 m, maximum beam 16.0 m draught 5.50 m, 3,750 gross tonnage (GT)
She is a square-rigger with fore-mast, main-mast and mizzen-mast. The top of her main-mast is 55 m above deck. Her 23 sails have a total area of approximately 3,000 m2. She is sailed traditionally by hand, requiring a crew of at least 50.
The vessel's main power plants consist of two four-stroke biodiesel engines each developing 1,300 kW at 900 revolutions/minute. The propeller is driven via a gear mechanism. Using this means of propulsion, She can reach a top speed of about 13 knots.
The Epiphany has five decks. In keeping with the fact she is a Sadakhan vessel her appointments may be somewhat Spartan for your purposes, but we are happy to assist as best we are able in fitting her out as you wish. As she sits, she is equipped with 90 of passenger suites, a bar, lounge, library, fitness room and a fully equipped sickbay. On the lowest deck are cabins for the crew members, along with the kitchen and other service facilities.
We are willing to lease this vessel with an option to buy--including six months of service of a 50-person teaching crew to bring your people up to speed on operating a traditional square-rigged sailing vessel, if needed--for
V5m annually, or sell her outright for
V50m, negotiable
