Around 400 AD, indigenous hunter-gatherers in what is now Syrixia began to start building civilizations. Eventually the area looked something like some sort of a "merchant's confederacy" as it became an important bastion for entrepreneurship and trade. This confederacy was known as Demhakar. Demhakar was very idyllic and peaceful and soon others from across the region and even the world began flocking to Demhakar for vacations or simply to set up trading posts. By 800 AD, Demhakar was well known among entrepreneurs and traders, and the region grew rich. However the two richest merchants, Miejalandra Yato and Tasazoq Hegaj, built up their influence so quickly that soon the whole of Demhakar was mired in a civil war between the two ancient moguls. The war raged for ten years and no one had the edge. Eventually, Demhakar collapsed.

Because of this sudden anarchy, the wealth, and a man named Alfred Odi wanted to exploit this new anarchy to set up a kingdom so he could claim the wealth. He slowly won the loyalty of the former Demhakaris and in 1220 AD the Kingdom of Melletonia was formed. Now known as King Alfred I, he expanded the Kingdom immensely as well as his authority over the other non-Demhakari (now Melletonian) peoples he conquered along the way. He thus had a legitimate claim to the wealth of Demhakar, and after he rose to power that claim became completely uncontested. Thus, agents of Alfred seized the wealth their King wanted and brought it before him. Alfred distributed the wealth evenly and was generally a benevolent king. His legacy and the nation of Syrixia itself is still celebrated today via the holiday of Uthvaq Shanar, or "Unity Celebration" in English.

Between February 23rd and March 1st, the Most Serene Republic of Syrixia shall be celebrating Uthvaq Shanar. All nations are invited to attend the celebration; it is happening all over Syrixia. This resort definitely deserves its name. With a gorgeous ocean view and an iconic spot in the great capital city of Balamb, this resort is Syrixia's premier resort. The resort has a world-class pool and its suites are beyond famous. For this reason it can be quite packed, but the resort more than makes up for that with the aforementioned amenities plus an elite team of busboys, maids, cooks, etc.

This ultramodern resort was recently built off the coast of the old city of Miraca, in Melgaeta Province. The resort is packed with state-of-the-art technology everywhere you look, plus it's underwater! Guests here can view the fishes swim by and fall asleep to the soothing sounds of the water. The hotel can be accessed via a small building on the coastal area of the city, but besides that the entire hotel is underwater.

Uptown Balamb
Parliament Hall Complex, Floor 12
Chamber of the Parliament

It is the night of February 23rd, 2015. Parliament has just been adjourned for the day. The daily meetings are over and the Prime Minister is sitting alone in his study, sifting through a pile of governmental documents. Suddenly, Deputy Prime Minister John Sirus walks in.

Alfred: Oh, good, John. You're here. What's the status of the foreign delegations? Are they coming?

John: Yep. We have people from Darcania, Kalti, Tronkandal, and Eumenor coming. The usual, some leaders, some foreign ministers, and some guards. You know how the Darcanians are famous for breeding and taming dragons?

Alfred: Yes.

John: It seems they're bringing two to the Imperial Resort.

Alfred: Interesting. Keep me posted. I want to see how this plays out; most Syrixians have never seen living, breathing dragons.

John: Alright.

Syrixia:
John: You know how the Darcanians are famous for breeding and taming dragons?
(OOC: The dragons were there first. They are, in fact, in charge of the government, because they're intelligent on their own. If anything, they tamed the humans who arrived on the Wyssirian island.

I really should finish my Factbook. : )

(OOC; Ah ok. Perhaps you could post your dragons and other people getting here and that could correlate with your OOC statement.)

It is near midnight the night of February 23rd. Kultur kul Luft, the Minister of Culture, lays on the stern of his personal ship, his two guards surrounding him, one asleep. He had informed Ulus kul Leiter that he would leave for Syrixia as soon as he could after she had informed him of their holiday. As the new Minister under Scian's term, he followed Scian's ideas of how much they could learn from foreign powers, even if they were filled with the short-lived humans. The Syrixian holiday was the perfect excuse for him to learn the culture of the nations around them, even if they were five days away by boat. He managed to leave significantly earlier than he expected; the Klarlierter were resourceful humans, able to finish the work he had assigned them in no time at all. He looked around; he could see in the distance the land and lights that indicated human civilization far before the human lookout could. He stood up and stretched.

"Taking flight?" asked the awake guard, a dark grey female from the Aradaki clan.

"Yes," he replied. He waited for her to wake the other guard, a light blue male from the Nord clan, while watching in the distance. He knew already, thanks to Scian, that no clans lived in or even near Syrixia. It was very probable that this would be the first time any of their citizens had met any dragons in eons. At most, dragons would be a myth to them.

"We're ready," the Nord said. He informed the nearest human to dock at the assigned port while they stretched their wings. After five straight days of riding on a boat, the three dragons were restless. They remained out of sight of any citizens during their hour-long flight, remaining low to the water, before returning to the ship. They arrived at the ship just before coming within human sight of the port, landing on the stern and shaking excess water off their wings. The two guards lied down, while Kultur remained standing tall; it would be best, he thought, for any officials on the shore to recognize his ship by sight and prepare for his ship to dock.

Downtown Balamb
Balamb Grand Port
12:00 AM (00:00)
February 24th, 2015

It is midnight, February 24th has come. Uthvaq Shanar has begun. The city of Balamb is grandiosely decorated in beautiful nights, and people across the city are singing the national anthem. At one of the many marinas of the Balamb Grand Port, a Darcanian ship appears on the horizon. One of the guards, a teenager named Jagh'qoi, wakes up and notices the ship. He runs to his fellow guard Oyas'uun, who is still sleeping, and shakes him around and around, telling him to get up.

Jagh'qoi: Oyas'uun! Ioche'mikkckher!

Oyas'uun: Jagh'qoi...ahi koghwt...sel uoyo'ghein...

Jagh'qoi: OYAS'UUN! FHIHA'GUGNE IOCHE! GHY'OGNE IOCHE!!!

Oyas'uun quickly wakes up and dials Parliament Hall's phone number. A clerk answers.

Clerk: Maksul and syodi Uthvaq Shanar! This is Parliament Hall, how may I help you?

Oyas'uun: Yes, my name is Oyas'uun Qejheiro. A Darcanian ship is within sight, they must be arriving for the festivities! Could you get a government official down here?

Clerk: Yes. I'll send the Minister of Foreign Affairs. Thanks for notifying us. Iqogi.

Oyas'uun: Iqogi.

Oyas'uun hangs up the phone. Two minutes later, the ship is docked. Shaw Atlas, Syrixia's Minister of Foreign Affairs, now stands at the port in awe. Three magnificent dragons are looking back at him. Did he miss a memo? He hadn't heard of these yet he knew they existed. In children's fairy tales, that is. However, these are nice dragons, men- er, dragons of government, in fact. He remains composed, smiles, and welcomes the Darcanian delegation to Balamb, the shining capital of Syrixia, known to many as the New York of the Pacific Ocean.

Shaw: Welcome and syodi Uthvaq Shanar. I am Shaw Atlas, Syrixian Minister of Foreign Affairs. I understand you've booked at the Imperial Resort. We have prepared a special suite for you three, especially you, Minister kul Luft.

Shaw points to the dragons as he said "you three" and then points to his fellow humans.

Shaw: We have also prepared a few suites for your staff, if they so decide to stay.

The King, his prime minister and foreign minister boarded the Royal Tronkandalian Airforce Starstreaker VIP plane. It white polished fuselage and red tail and wings with the royal sigil glowed from the powerful spotlights.
"I am really looking forward to the festivities!" the King said "This will be my first official visit to Syrixia, and what could be a better time than now!?"
"I am also looking forward to it" Prime minister Per said. "I really look forward to seeing my syrixian colleague again". Foreign minister Grete was talking on the phone at the same time she was doing what looked like important work on a tablet. "Yes, I know you are in a financial crisis right now, but I've made a deal to start a new production plant abroad!"
"What is she talking about?" The King asked Per.
"I'm not sure. I think it's about Aerodyne. They are about to launch their new product-catalog to the international marked. From what I have heard, they blew almost their entire budget on design and products promotion"

The plane took off with two F-16 fighter jets as escort. The VIP plane was equpped with ECM, flares, chaff and advanced radar systems, but would not stand a chance against more than a couple of enemies.

The flight over the ocean was unremarkable. Gradually a light was appearing on the horizon. The captains voice broke the silence in the cabin "The light ahead is either from the province of Kuliqoputhiyu or Akanalfia. Our ETA is about two hours." From the open cockpit door, the party could hear the captain talking to the ground control. "Ground control, this is Lima India Oscar November one. We are about to..."
"Well, nearly there" Per said. "Are you finished working yet, or will you be spending the entire event with that phone strapped to your head?" he turned to Grete
"Very funny" she sneered at him "I've had to do a weekends worth of work to be able to attend this in the first place. I wouldn't miss it for a thing!"
They felt the plane starting the descent as the first officer said over the speakers “Flight crew, cabin check.” and they could see the lights of Balamb coming closer and closer

Meanwhile, as Shaw conversed with the Darcanians, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Culture, James Dolan, was in Balamb International Airport waiting for the Tronkandalians when at last he saw the plane. As it landed, he walked over and greeted the Tronkandalians.

James: Maksul, Prime Minister, Minister, Your Majesty! Syodi Uthvaq Shanar and welcome to Balamb! The Neptune Resort is ready for you, your motorcade is on the way and you should be in Miraca in about 45 minutes. You can rest there and in a few hours we can have some fun! Any questions?

Kultur watched the port as they docked their ship. There was still a lot of activity in the sizable city, despite the time. He could hear singing across the city. He hadn't ever before seen so many unified in celebration; already he was impressed by the Syrixian solidarity and culture. He watched as there was some bustle at the dock they were at. An important-looking man and his entourage approached as Kultur and his guards departed the ship.

The man appeared flustered as they approached; Kultur didn't blame the man, considering this was likely the first time he had ever seen dragons. The man was doing well, considering; humans were well-known among dragons for hiding their feelings almost in spite of their social nature. Kultur inclined his head toward the man as he approached, while his guards remained on the lookout for any threats; the Nord male in particular staring at the Syrixian minister and his entourage.

"Greetings," Kultur replied. "I am Kultur kul Luft, and I am my nation's equivalent to a Minister of Culture. I would request that you refer to me by my proper title, which I have adopted as my given name." Kultur blinked a few times; despite the time of night, the city's brightness was starting to bother him. "I look forward to the celebrations, though I will have to cut this short, as we had a lengthy trip here."

He looked back at the humans aboard his ship. He hadn't yet considered what to do with them; while they had plenty of boarding on the ship, he realized they likely wouldn't want to stay on the ship the entire time. He asked the Aradaki guard to relieve the humans on board of their duty. "They will be staying; thank you for the accommodations. Will we be receiving escort or directions?"

Shaw: You will receive escort, and a brochure we have manufactured for foreign guests.

Shaw hands Kultur the brochure. It gives an overview on Syrixia, complete with a detailed map, and also a bunch of things one can do during the festivities. (OOC: See the OP.)

Shaw: Now then, you must be tired. I won't waste any more of your time; so I'll be off.

The Darcanians and the entourage of Minister Atlas bid farewell to each other.

Meanwhile, in an old, secluded house in uptown Balamb...

Lefty: Hey, so how are we gonna pull off this job and get the loot? Those museums are guarded almost as well as the freakin' vaults in Stonessfurd!

Righty: Simple. I've got a contact in China. They're still upset about that whole "Interesting Letter conflict". Anyways, I think the guy's name is, like, Xi Jinping or something.

Lefty: And?

Righty: Not sure what role he's got in the Chinese government, but we can get him to have China drop a conventional bomb on the museum, in return for some of the money from our earlier jobs.

Lefty: That's a lotta money! How're we gonna be rich?

Righty: Easy. That loot is worth a lot o' money. What we've given up won't matter. We're gonna be rich!

Lefty: HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

Righty: HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

At the Pigletville International Airport, Thomas Air Flight 808 was boarding at Terminal 2. Two people walked up to the terminal with their bags and were escorted by Guslant guards in blue and gold armor. The first man was Parker Fuller, Associate Minister of Foreign Affairs, while the other was Rachel Singletary, Associate Minister of Human Services. The two people were escorted onto the aircraft and soon were seated aboard. When they sat down, Fuller quickly took out his tablet and opened up the GusNet. He scrolled through the executive officers page and clicked Alicia Burns' name. Suddenly a young woman's face covered the entire screen. "I presume you are calling to inform me that you are successfully on the flight and headed for Syrixia?" she asked immediately. "Yes, yes I did," said Parker with a smile. Alicia was the Associate Minister of Information and served as the spokesperson for the GusNet. "Okay...," she said writing down something on a piece of paper, "I will contact the Syrixian delegation and tell them to expect your arrival soon," she continued. A flight attendant walked by, and motioned for Parker to turn off his tablet. "Love you," he said to Alicia before leaving. "Love you too, Parker," she replied and she logged off.

Inside the Thomas Building in Pigletville, Alicia Burns set down her tablet. She rolled her chair across the small room to a huge monitor which controlled the GusNet. On the monitor was a huge regional news feed and messages sent from all of the Ministries. There was also a map of the nation, and all of the critical information about the cities. "Computer, set mode to Communications," she ordered to the computer and the monitor suddenly changed from the main screen to a map of the region with each main city of the region highlighted by a radio tower. She touched Pigletville and quickly searched for Balamb, which she also pressed. Suddenly, the monitor changed again to show Alicia's face. "Frequency set from Pigletville to Balamb, begin message when ready," said the computer. "Hello Syrixian delegation, this is Alicia Burns of GusNet, I am contacting you to give you a heads-up about the arrival of Minister Fuller and Minister Singletary to your city of Balamb for the celebrations. Please feel free to contact us here in the Thomas Building, or feel free to call the Guslant official telephone. Again, this is Alicia Burns, and thank you for using the GusNet," said Alicia before the screen switched back to the main screen.

"Maksul, deputy minister" The King replied. "I think we will enjoy the festivities very much. We've had a long flight and look forward to some rest. I hope we meet later"
The party stepped into one of the waiting vehicles and were off to the hotel.

As the king entered his suite, he gasped in awe. "This place is amazing!" He exclaimed. "I want you to find out who designed and built this place. I want to talk to them" he said to his two ministers.

After a couple of hours, the King changed into his formal attire - the double-breasted gala uniform from the Tronkandalian Army with a red and white sash and his orders on the left side.
"Dammit, I hate these things" He mumbled to himself as he tried to hook the collar in the front. Someone knocked on the door
"Are you ready yet, your majesty?" Per, his prime minister, was waiting for him outside his room. The King grabbed his cap and went through the door. "Yes, ready now. Let's go paint the town!"

The Spokesman of Eumenor:
(OOC: Oh for God's sake, why are there dragons in the RP? Is this a serious modern thing, or some fantasy farce like the Fazbear BS?)
(OOC: Wow, thank you. Ever hear of multi-species and the ruling of the 2015 Roleplay Convention?)

Foreign Affairs Clerk: (typing on his computer) Alright, so that's Parker Fuller and Rachel Singletary coming to the Uthvaq Shanar celebrations from Guslantis. Imperial resort. O---k. Alright sir, they're all booked.

Shaw: Good. Now let's see how the festivities play out. The Tronkandalians appear to be awake already from what the resort has told us. Get me their assigned motorcade, we'll be off to the Neptune Resort. I think we'll start them off with an aerial tour of Syrixia. Who knows, they might stumble upon the Kaltians, Guslants or Darcanians.

Foreign Affairs Clerk: Got it, sir. I've sent a message to them to be at Miraca International Airport in one and a half hours tops for their plane. What plane should I send?

Shaw: The Syrixian Star.

The Thomas Air flight landed at the airport hours after its original departure. Aboard the plane, Parker looked out to see the Syrixian landscape. "I think this is the first time I've been to Syrixia," he said with a smile. The plane stopped and quickly attached to the nearest terminal. Parker and Rachel grabbed their bags and exited the plane. "Do you actually know where we're going?" asked Rachel.

As the Estate Concorde Monolit L 2.4 is making its final approach to Syrixia, Solveig and Ardelle were on-board chatting with each other.

"Solveig... would you believe me that this is my first time visiting Syrixia? And I'm the bloody Minister of Culture... I should be abroad more often visiting other nations."

(laughing) "You're right... at least we are fixing the problem now. I'm sure you'll enjoy Syrixia. The people there are generally nice."

"Good. Anyways, did you hear that Darcania will be there? I heard their nation is run by dragons..."

"Dragons huh... I've heard those rumors before but I don't think anyone on the Council, Conclave or Assembly have met one in person."

"Don't look at me. I'm just repeating some of the information from the dossier put together by the Department of Foreign Affairs."

(looking out the window) "Well, we will find out soon enough if the rumors are true or not. It looks like we are making our final descent into Syrixia."

Milly, the pilot of Monolit L 2.4 comes over the intercom.

"How about this, you can both buy me a round of drinks if it turns out to be true that Darcania is run by dragons..."

Solveig and Ardelle look at each other dumbfounded and burst out laughing.

"Fine... A round of drinks for the entire flight crew if there is a dragon."

Eventually the laughter dies down and everyone goes back to chatting as the plane lands in Syrixia.

as the aircraft finishes taxiing down the runway and comes to a halt the Princess, Sarah, is almost bouncing up and down with excitement, much to the exasperation of Commander Jaeger "Your highness, need I remind you that this is a diplomatic visit... you must show decorum..." the solid-looking veteran sighs, Sarah sticks her tongue out "Rubbish Commander, this is a foreign country, I mean it's not like I've been to a lot of them..." the 22 year old girl grinned, eagerly looking forward to a party or social gathering to attend, free from her brother's rules for a little while.

Balamb International Airport
February 24th, 2015
7:30 AM (07:30)

It is the morning of February 24th. Alfred Nursson and John Sirus, the Prime and Deputy Prime Ministers of Syrixia, as well as Shaw Atlas, Syrixia's Minister of Foreign Affairs and Culture, stand on the runway ready to greet the Guslants and Kaltians, both of whom have just landed.

Alfred: Maksul! Syodi Uthvaq Shanar! Welcome, Guslants and Kaltians, to the city of Balamb, the shining capital of Syrixia! The forecast calls for clear, cloudless skies, so we should be all right during this week of festivities! President Nightsong and Minister Engstrom, your motorcade is assembled right outside the airport to take you on the ride to Akanalfia Province, where Yahara Resort is. It's about an hour's ride, so it isn't too, too, long.

John: As for Minister Fuller and Minister Singletary, we have arranged your motorcade to be here as well; it's right behind the Kaltians' motorcade. It will take you on the five-minute ride to the Imperial Resort. I believe the Tronkandalians are booked there too, so I recommend you meet up with them if you can.
