ARCHIVED: Uthvaq Shanar

Mr. Smith turns to the clerk.

John: Oh, thanks! I should get going before I'm late. I hear Aria Airlines flights are very nice. I can't wait for the tour! I'll go get my goldfish...

Bob goes down to his room to get Bob, his goldfish.

(OOC: Speeding this up so we can progress.)

A few minutes later, John Smith has joined the tour party- and it's ready to go.

Qirien: Hoo boy! Lots of people! Now then, due to our...sudden burst in attendance, we need to collectively decide where we're going to go next. We could either see the ruins of the Temple of Anu, the principal god of Melletonia, or the excavation sites so we can see what normal life in Melletonia was like. What do you all think?

"I would be interested in either one," Kultur replied as he and his guards finished their delicious meals. He blinked suddenly as a flash went off; it would appear that, now that news had spread that there were civilized dragons in Syrixia, some of them stopped and took out their cameras. The Aradaki guard growled at the offending Syrixian, who quickly ran off.

Qirien does a  .

Qirien: Oh boy. The paparazzi... We should go. Quick, everyone, get in the plane!

Qirien motions everyone to get in the plane, except the dragons. The tour party flies off to the other end of the city, which is much less populated and where all the good archaeological stuff is.

Qirien: We are coming up above the Temple of Anu. There's a nice flat area over there next to it; let's land.

The plane lands, and the party rushes into the temple to see what's there. The temple is beautifully preserved and is adorned spectacularly with many things such as marble and brick.

Sarah looks around carefully, in awe of the architecture "This is incredible, not even the Monastery at Kul Katura is this well preserved..." her eyes scrutinizing every detail of the exquisite sculpture "How old is this temple?" she inquired.

Kultur and his two guards look at the many adornments throughout the temple, entranced. "Not even the Siyah Cathedral is this astonishing," the Aradaki said. "Yes," the Nord said, "it truly is beautiful." Kultur continued to examine every minute detail in silence, blocking out the rest of the world.

Qirien, captivated by the temple himself, manages to turn and answer the oncoming queries.

Qirien: If you think this is good, wait until you see Atroba Doha, the principal church of the Church of Syrixia. It is adorned in gold and granite, and is a national landmark. Anyways, this temple, however, is much older. it is around 700 years old, but was recently restored following historical research on the temple in 2008. After the fall of Melletonia and all the way up until 2006, it was used for multiple purposes; first, a public meetinghouse under the Syrixian Empire, then the Oblast Governmental Assembly building under the communist regime, and finally a ruin from 2006 to 2008. During those two years it was used as a warehouse for Inisqimaan Incorporated, Syrixia's biggest company.

"Where is the oldest room in the temple? The one that needed the least amount of restoration?" Kultur asked, still examining every detail of the temple.

Sarah smiled "I'm glad you were able to restore it, no sacred place should ever be used for something as base as commercialism..." admiring the smoother aesthetic in comparison to the Etrebeans.

Qirien: Here, the oldest and most holy room in the temple is at the back. Behind that big door. Here's the brochure, it has a cutout of the temple.

Qirien gives Kultur kul Luft the brochure.

Qirien: The box below the two golden statues in the back contains the remains of King Alfred I...except his skull. His skull is most holy, much more holy than the other bones, and is kept at Atroba Doha.

The Temple of Anu:

The Klarlierter stepped forward and took the brochure, seeing as how Kultur, being a quadruped, couldn't hold the brochure. "Are we allowed to enter the room?" Kultur asked.

Qirien: Yes, you may, as the temple is no longer in use. It's the Most Holy Room in Atroba Doha you can't enter. Only the Escqi of the Church of Syrixia and the Prime Minister can enter that room.

Kultur nodded his head and walked toward the door. His guards followed behind him, though they appeared uncomfortable doing so. Kultur paused one he entered the room, blinking at the light and reflective surfaces, and took in the sights all at once before examining any patterns, materials, and placement of the objects. He stayed well away from the remains of the old Syrixian king, and his guards stayed behind in the doorway. "It is a beautiful place," he said.

Qirien noticed the worries of the Darcanians concerning the Holy Tomb and began to speak on the matter.

Qirien: Don't feel scared. King Alfred was a good man. He ruled Melletonia with benevolence. All Syrixian leaders are expected to live up to his accomplishments and behave as he did. In fact, there is a glass barrier inside the box, so the remains aren't tarnished; meaning you can open the box if you want. Besides, as I said, these are just historical remains; the only really holy piece of the King's remains, his skull, is in Atroba Doha.

"It isn't that," Kultur said. "Our religion is concerned with several different dichotomies. They - sorry, we - worship a personification of chaos, and believe that such a king must have been blessed by order." He approached the king's remains and bowed his head. "Such a blessed individual should be respected." He turned back around and left the room, continuing to gaze at the details of the room as he left. The guards bowed their heads at the king from a distance and followed.

Qirien (After walking out of the room): Now then, I believe we should make our way to another province.

Qirien assembles all the foreign delegates.

Qirien: Any provinces you all want to go to?

"I would like to continue with my initial plan and travel to Akhan next," Kultur stated.

Qirien: Sounds good. Alright, alright, everyone, let's go!

The party heads out to Miraca International Airport and the Syrixian Star is there to pick them up. They are flown to the small runway outside the main attraction of Akhan Province, the colossal Mt. Inieldor, standing at a whopping 25,700 feet; perhaps the second highest mountain in the North Pacific next to the Mountains of Ganjar in Cronaal.

The plane lands and everyone steps out. Qirien turns to the foreign delegates and hands them climbing gear, then opens his mouth to speak.

Qirien: The government's asked me to take you all on a hike up to the summit, hence why I've given you climbing gear. At the top you can view the whole province, and large parts of the surrounding provinces! It's estimated that we can see Miraca from here if we look hard enough to the west! Now then, any questions?

Jaegers' eyes lit up a little at the sight of the peak "Impressive..." he smiled, causing Sera to smile "By Marwolaeth... you actually can smile Commander..." she giggled, causing his face to resume it's usual neutral expression "I merely look forward to the climb Highness, I've not been climbing for a while..." he replied, clearly a little embarrassed by the Princess drawing attention to the fact.

While his two guards stared at the majesty of the mountain, taller than any in their respective homelands, Kultur asked, "As we are dragons, and thus have better grip and lung capacity, I doubt we need any climbing gear, but, in case we do, do you have climbing gear that would fit the three of us?"

Jaeger began to stretched a little, it had been months since he had ben able to get any action on a mountain "This equipment's a little light..." he commented, more used to the heftier military-issue equipment.

(OOC: Different posting style!)

Qirien puts on his climbing gear. "Yes, the government made sure we had dragon-sized climbing gear. UNLOAD THE TRUCK!" he says. Suddenly, a truck next to the visitor center unloads. Six men carry the three dragons' climbing gear to them.

((ooc: No! I shall have to face the scuba suit and bucket of soapy frogs and get laughed at by Monica Rial... 0 m 0))

Jaeger looks to Qurien "Do you have anything a little heavier?" he asked, not quite sure about the gear.

Qirien hands Jaeger a different set of gear. "Yes, here. This is heavier, though I warn you it will be more of a burden to carry." he said. Qirien then turns to all the foreign delegates. "Now then, are we ready to make the climb?"

Jaeger checks the weight "Thank you, this is better, I'm used to gear like this..." he explained, strapping himself up rather faster than expected.

"We are not ready yet," Kultur said. He and the Nord were currently laying nearly flat on the ground as the human crew put on the dragons' climbing gear; the Aradaki already had hers on, as she distrusted having humans clamber all over Kultur, and was currently closely watching them work. The humans fumbled in their work, as they were unused to working with dragons and were unnerved by the Aradaki, but they eventually finished. "Now we are ready," Kultur said as the last of the humans jumped back down to the ground.

Two hours later, the party had reached the summit. It was a long and arduous climb, though the humans clearly had more trouble than the dragons did. "Look at that view!" said Qirien. "Now then, where should we go next after our descent? We have a couple more days until we're due at Balamb!"

Syrixia:
(OOC: What does "-nd-" mean?)
Jaeger stretched his arms, enjoying the burning in his tendons That feels so much better..." he sighed, clearly enjoying this part of the tour while Sarah looked exhausted "Th-that... that was..." she wheezed

The climb was indeed quite arduous, though the dragons found they spent plenty of time resting due to having to wait for the humans to catch up to their long strides. At the top, Kultur looked out over the lands of a country he was coming to appreciate as a strong cultural power, while the Nord enjoyed the cold mountain air and the Aradaki shivered from the freezing cold she was unused to.

Of course, this long climb did not nearly tire Qirien. He was trained to do such climbs like these once a week, as Syrixian tour guides are renowned for their countless jobs and attractions to cover. "Now then, where shall we go next? We have about two days until we're due to be at Balamb." Qirien said, tiredly but enthusiastically.

Sarah struggled to speak but waved Jaeger over to let him know her wishes "Her highness wishes to visit Manaan." relaying her barely audible reply

(ooc sorry about that, brains not firing an all cylinders tonight, I blame Jessica Calvello)

"That is the religious district, yes? I would also like to travel there," Kultur said.

"That sounds good." said Qirien. After the climb back down, the party rested for the night in the hotel at the base of the mountain. After that, it was off to Sholyik Province.

The party gets off the plane. The colossal church of Atroba Doha stands before them, even though they are in uptown Manaan and the church is in the downtown area.

The party eventually made it through the city to Atroba Doha. National law proclaimed that the church was open to the public to peruse, excluding the Great and Most Holy Chamber, of course, and thusly the party, led by Qirien, did.
