Resolution at vote: Liberate Antalia
Forum voting thread: http://forum.thenorthpacific.org/topic/9033593
Vote recommendation: against
Written by [nation=short]Sil Dorsett[/nation]
The resolution to liberate Antalia would do nothing. The region has an active founder that seems content with the raider presence and there is no password. Liberations are only used to remove delegate-imposed passwords when the founder of the region ceases to exist.

For these reasons, the Ministry of World Assembly Affairs encourages a vote against this resolution.
All of us in the Ministry of World Assembly Affairs are proud of the work we accomplish in the Ministry. If you are interested in joining the effort, if you are interested in getting more involved in the World Assembly, possibly as an author or one of our staff putting together information for voters like yourself, then join the Ministry! We want both people who are eager to learn and people who already know their way around the World Assembly and can help us do our job even better. Joining the Ministry of World Assembly Affairs is a great way to get more involved in The North Pacific community.

If you're interested in getting involved, please contact the Minister of World Assembly Affairs, either by personal message on the forums (username: Sil Dorsett) or by telegram (nation: [nation=short]Sil Dorsett[/nation]).

We look forward to hearing from you soon!
The Delegate casts the regional vote after consulting the results of the forum voting thread linked above. All World Assembly nations in The North Pacific can vote and discuss there, so make sure to do so!

As usual, please consider endorsing Delegate [nation=short]Plembobria[/nation], if you have not already done so. The more endorsements, the more votes The North Pacific has, and the stronger our voice in the World Assembly is!

If you are no longer interested in receiving these telegrams, please edit your Telegram Preferences, and adjust the frequency with which you receive 'WA Campaign' telegrams accordingly.

If you have questions about any of the above, please contact Minister of World Assembly Affairs [nation=short]Sil Dorsett[/nation].

Resolution at vote: Condemn Anarchestan
Forum voting thread: http://forum.thenorthpacific.org/topic/9034309/
Vote recommendation: against
Written by [nation=short]Kaschovia[/nation]
The exaggeration of a singular action, having already been resolved, brings this condemnation to a vote rather undeservingly. The nation in question hasn't, over the course of their NS career, done anything close enough to deserving a fulfilled and needed condemnation. While their actions were slightly detrimental to a region, have caused some degree of grief and disrupted the peace of a community, we cannot focus on a single action, but we must broaden our view and look to the nation's entire history. After reviewing this nation, it must be agreed upon that a thorough condemnation is not deserved.

For these reasons, the Ministry of World Assembly Affairs encourages a vote against this resolution.

Resolution at vote: Commend Renaissancistic People
Forum voting thread: http://forum.thenorthpacific.org/topic/9036256/
Vote recommendation: for
The resolution to commend [nation=short]Renaissancistic People[/nation], also known as r3naissanc3r, provides a strong list of accomplishments demonstrating his positive and constructive impact all around NationStates. He has helped shape the legislative and diplomatic structures in multiple regions including The North Pacific, was one of the creators of The Independent Manifesto that many regions have adopted, and has created and maintained automation tools improving regional administration, communication, and recruitment. The accomplishments of Renaissancistic People over the years more than justify a commendation for such a deserving candidate.

For these reasons, the Ministry of World Assembly Affairs encourages a vote for this resolution.

Resolution at vote: Condemn The CAIN
Forum voting thread: http://forum.thenorthpacific.org/topic/9036638/
Vote recommendation: against
This resolution seeks to condemn the Coalition Against the Ideology of Nazism, an interregional organization founded for the purpose of rooting out Nazism in NationStates. Its main complaint is the labelling of KAISERREICH as a Nazi region, which was rightfully done on account of the use of Nazi imagery and anti-Semitic remarks from their leaders, including the founder. It also complains about the labeling of regions with embassies with Nazi regions as Nazi collaborators, but this is essential to the mission of isolating Nazis and preventing the spread of their hateful rhetoric. The previous iteration of this proposal, which was voted on back in December, made the same complaint, was without merit, and was rejected. This version is no different.

For these reasons, the Ministry of World Assembly Affairs recommends a vote against the resolution.
All of us in the Ministry of World Assembly Affairs are proud of the work we accomplish in the Ministry. Resolution at vote: Liberate The Bee Land
Forum voting thread: http://forum.thenorthpacific.org/topic/9036421
Vote recommendation: against
Written by [nation=short]Kaschovia[/nation]
The Bee Land, having previously been a very small region, mostly made up of inactive and fairly uninterested nations, does not need liberating. A liberation would not bring the region back to its previous state, as there isn't much for it to return to. The proposal references 'The Mafia', a guild military, as Equinox's entire military, which is incorrect. The region has failed to reach one page of RMB posts, making just 14 non-raider posts on the RMB in over 125 days. This proves that there is no real community or activity worth liberating.

For these reasons, the Ministry of World Assembly Affairs recommends a vote against the resolution.

Resolution at vote: Condemn Elite Region Of Global Command
Forum voting thread: http://forum.thenorthpacific.org/topic/9036877/
Vote recommendation: against
Condemnations are reserved for regions with a much wider range and sphere of influence, who are actually capable of causing or encouraging unprecedented or plentiful strife and harm to one or more communities. The proposal doesn't contain enough in-game references to actions that have done much damage and instead focuses on attacking their ideology. If holding an objectionable ideology is enough to warrant a condemnation, it is likely that such regions would start seeing the condemnation as a badge of honor. Even though the Elite Region Of Global Command appears to be a Nazi region, and as a CAIN signatory we stand against Nazism, a condemnation over their ideology would only serve as free publicity and advertising power.

For these reasons, the Ministry of World Assembly Affairs recommends a vote against the resolution.

Resolution at vote: Repeal ""Liberate Eternal Scholars""
Forum voting thread: http://forum.thenorthpacific.org/topic/9037267/
Vote recommendation: for
Written by [nation=short]Sil Dorsett[/nation]
The liberation of Eternal Scholars was done to prevent Nazi forces from locking the region, and would already be repealed were it not for interference from another raider group. With the Nazis and raiders both long gone, Eternal Scholars is once again ready for the liberation to end. Although the natives have already decided to move on to a new secure region called ""The Eternal Scholars,"" to preserve their history and legacy they wish to have the original region locked before moving. With the attention Eternal Scholars has from defender forces after being seized by raiders during the last liberation repeal attempt, we are confident that the current delegate will not be overthrown.

For these reasons, the Ministry of World Assembly Affairs recommends a vote for the resolution.

Resolution at vote: Repeal "Liberate The Arab League"
Forum voting thread: http://forum.thenorthpacific.org/topic/9041035/
Vote recommendation: For
Written by [nation=short]Sheppey[/nation]
The delegate of The Arab League is the proposer of the resolution which establishes the native support we require for liberation repeals. Repealing the liberation will allow the government of The Arab League to re-establish control of their border which will prevent the raiders from entering again.

For these reasons, the Ministry of World Assembly Affairs recommends a vote for the resolution.

Resolution at vote: Repeal ""Foreign Patent Act""
Forum voting thread: http://forum.thenorthpacific.org/topic/9041937/
Vote recommendation: For
The Ministry of World Assembly Affairs previously opposed the original Foreign Patent Act, believing that it unnecessarily burdened nations with patent systems with the mandate that they observe all patents issued by the World Assembly Patent Service, penalized economically or technically disadvantaged nations, and ultimately sanctioned intellectual property theft. The provisions in the Foreign Patent Act effectively made not recognizing patents at all the preferred choice.

For these reasons, the Ministry of World Assembly Affairs encourages a vote for this resolution.

Resolution at vote: Foreign Patent Protection Act
Forum voting thread: http://forum.thenorthpacific.org/topic/9043083/
Vote recommendation: Against
The Foreign Patent Protection Act tries to fix the recently repealed Foreign Patent Act, attempting to address the issues raised in the repeal. However, the new resolution retains the same flaws for which we opposed the original and supported the repeal, namely the mandate for recognition of a WAPS-granted patent if a patent office exists in a member nation. It also continues to allow WA member nations to trade patent-infringing goods with non-members, giving a trade advantage to non-WA nations and member nations that don't recognize patents. This encourages member nations to scrap their patent system and ignore intellectual property rights.

For these reasons, the Ministry of World Assembly Affairs encourages a vote against this resolution.
