Tangents!

Why is it against the law to mispronounce Arkansas...... This means that if you say it Ar-Kansas you are able to be arrested.... Really Look it up!
 
Why do people say I need to study, I need to study, I need to study and never do it. I mean I at least eventually do it.
 
To be completely honest, I'm a little concerned that I won't be fitting into my new community as well as I do when surrounded by greenies and students
 
V1's roommate is getting all "single white female" on him and he's yelling at me to stop being so loud and obnoxious

My new tangent will be to discuss why my housing department will not give me a 6 day extension to move my things out since I do not have anywhere to go for six days until I move in to my new apt for my new job. Don't they know that my house burnt, my aunt's house blew away, I am homeless, jobless, and don't have anywhere to put all my stuff for the next six days. Man they are mean mean people! Anyone want to take care of them for me?????

My New Tangent of the day:

Fast food places Part 1..... Have you ever ordered something with FRIES????? Then when you get the bag, the Fries are on their side with half of them falling out or the fries are upside down in the bag..... I mean seriously why the hell do I want my fries to be scattered all over the bottom of the bag and then I have to fish them out.... Anyone... Anyone????
 
I have a bigger question: why do you want fries at all? Seriously, they're not that good.

This reminds me that I once saw a study that showed that some items are essentially inflation-proof. You can charge whatever you want and, after an initial downturn in demand, it will return to previous levels without fail. Fries were on that list. So was alcohol and cigarettes.

My new tangent of the day... The Weather!

Why is it the middle of the May in Arkansas and the high temperature of the day is 65 degrees? I mean seriously. We had some cities in the state that did not even reach 60??? This weather has to change, and change for the better! I do not like the weather when I have pretty much packed all my cold weather stuff up and then have to drag it back out. So if anyone can make the weather a little warmer down here in Arkansas, please make it so. Thanks!
 
65 sounds pretty good to me. If I could pick a temperature for it to be all year, that would be it. Not too hot, not too cold, just right.
 
It is a little low for me. about 73-80 would be just wonderful.

My new Tangent of the day: House Builders

Okay so I picked this topic because it is something that me and my family just went through with the person building our new house. Apparently the builder missed up on measurements of the house. He ended up changing the house plans cutting off 18 inches of bed room space for a 12 foot wall, (by the way that is a lot of space when you are talking about a place to live), without consulting us. I mean you are cutting into my bedroom here that I have to live in.. No No you are not invading my space at all from the original plans. WRONG! He told us that we should not be nick picky and he didn't need to ask us about every change he needed to make.... Ok, I understand that, I wouldn't mind if you took like 1 to 5 inches off of my room without asking me. but 18 inches... that is a whole foot and almost 2! I think you need to consult us on that one Mr. Builder before you make that change.....

So I guess it is a new day and time for a new Tangent story, so here goes,

Why don't people vote? I mean seriously why don't they. By voting you are exercising your right to choose what is the best! So therefore everyone needs to vote! I mean if you don't use your rights, they might as well be taken away. Seriously in the United States, only about 50% of eligible voters vote. I find this quite interesting as so many people want to complain about who is in office.... And then it all comes down to, why didn't you vote for the other person???? Therefore this brings me to this conclusion, VOTE! And if you don't, then don't complain, you have not right too, because you didn't exercise your right to vote in the first place!

Which brings me to my next statement, If you are a TNP Regional Assembly member, and havn't voted, make sure you exercise your right to vote by 11:59CDT TONIGHT!
 
Voting rates in Canada are about 65% and declining in recent years, which is a shame. I have a friend who everytime she votes proclaims she has now earned the right to complain about the government. I agree (with her and V1).
 
I will make my tangent of the day short and sweet.

I HATE INSECTS and BUGS! What are most of there uses.... I mean ants, and misquotes... Exactly what purpose do they serve? Anyone, Anyone.. I got one... To ANNOY THE HELL OUT OF US....
 
I have to have a new tangent today I suppose. I will go with Drivers.....

This basically means if you can't drive, get out of my way and the rest of the world's way that can drive. Nothing more can make me angry when a person is driving 40MPH down a road that is 55MPH on a two lane road with no passing. Don't they know that 55 is the new 60 or 65! Anyways you get the point!
 
I saw my son in a modernized adaptation of A Midsummer Night's Dream tonight. He was playing the mayor of New york and was wearing a suit and had grey put in his hair. For the first time I saw a hint of what he'll look like when he's a grown man. It was a strange moment for me.
 
I don't see a peeve anywhere in my previous post. Just a wistful non sequitur . So you can't be talking about me, right? I hope you weren't talking about me. Because if you were...
 
Oh, and why do people feel compelled to adapt Shakespeare in order to modernize it? I saw an adaptation of Much ado about nothing that was set in the civil war south. What an ugly, ugly thing it was. The accents were ridiculously scattered across the spectrum of southern accents, and made it completely impossible to even begin to focus on the play or the acting. I left during the intermission.

Then the next year was an all female cast of The Tempest, which has my favorite Shakespeare monologue in it, but I decided to skip that one. I have no idea what lousy gimmick the director will try to shoehorn in this year, but I feel bad because there is a high school section this year, and I fear it will spoil Shakespeare for some budding actors.

The worst of it all is that the company charges $20 a ticket for an amateur "on the green" production. :no:
 
My son has acted in Shakespeare adaptations in Grades 4,5,6 and 8. I'd love to see them try something different. And I don't mean Joseph and the Technicolor Dreamcoat.
 
I typed up a to-do list this morning, and had a conversation with Fibs about how imposing structure on yourself can do a lot to improve the flow, capacity and productivity of your creative output.
 
Why do stupid people exist? Can't they be smart and just get my order right on anything..

Yesterday... I ordered a Pizza.... And it was wrong.. the whole order was wrong on delivery... wrong drink, wrong pizza, and cold cheese sticks... OMG.... It took them over an hour to get it out to me and then another hour to replace it! Stupid PEOPLE!
