Repeal: "Liberate Republicans"
Category: Repeal | Target: SC #41
Proposed by: Gagium, Co-authored by: New Illyricium, Alainian Otters, The United Royal Islands of Euramathania | Onsite Topic
Replacement: None

Security Council Resolution #41 “Liberate Republicans” shall be struck out and rendered null and void.

The Security Council,

Noting the historical context of Liberate Republicans, in which the Security Council acted to prevent the region Republicans from being destroyed by The Greater German Reich, a troubled region which has since become defunct,

Thankful for the action that was taken to prevent Republicans from falling into nefarious hands following the passage of this liberation, ensuring that the liberation’s purpose was fulfilled,

However, dismayed by the immortalization of the names of specific nations from the The Greater German Reich in this standing Security Council resolution, all of whom have ceased to exist and do not deserve a place in the annals of Security Council history,

Affirming the lack of any present-day threats to Republicans, a region now exclusively home to puppet nations, that would warrant the continued standing of this liberation,

Acting to resolve the problematic immortalization of The Greater German Reich’s actions in a standing Security Council resolution,

Hereby Repeals “Liberate Republicans”

Nonsense. Repealing this resolution isn't going to strike the names from the record, it's just going to format them with strikethrough text. Against.

Against for reason stated by @Lucien Mounier.

The Greater German Reich is now under permanent control of moderators, and its world factbook entry says, "Please do not attempt to reestablish this region." This can be seen as a way to "immortalize" TGGR that cannot be undone by a SC resolution, which renders the proposal meaningless. In addition, what the proposal said, "Affirming the lack of any present-day threats [...]", is a flawed statement, since if there is no threat, there will be no worries about the reestablishment of TGGR, but a worry exists, hence a threat exists.
