General Assembly Resolution #196 “Freedom of Information Act” (Category: Furtherment of Democracy; Strength: Significant) shall be struck out and rendered null and void.

The Assembly of Worlds,

Believing in the noble aim of ending global poverty, yet nevertheless disagreeing with GA#733's claim that access to microcredit aids in this goal;

Rejecting the argument of the target that "a bank account is key to improving the living standards of WA inhabitants", as many regions of the world exist free from such financial systems, such as The Region That Has No Big Banks;

Finding that despite the lack of necessity for such a resolution, it nevertheless fails to adequately uphold its own goals, in particular by adding the unnecessary addendum that "each WA state is responsible for interpretation and enforcement of this resolution", a pointless clause that only serves to reduce clarity about how much nations are required to comply with the resolution in good faith, and which undermines attempts at international enforcement of law by providing national attorneys with a potential argument against such enforcement;

Proclaiming the further ineffectiveness of the resolution, due to clause 2e requiring basic bank accounts with microcredit facilities that clause 5a guarantees, which is then undermined by clause 5c allowing banks to “decline a deeper relationship” in cases a customer may seek a loan, creating circumstances where customers may be allowed to seek loans but never actually receive them;

Hereby Deletes GA#733 "Access to Basic Banking and Lending".
