This is going to require explanation. The proposal is a protest against moderation for their sloppy and incomplete new ruleset that disregarded the warnings and pleas of the community that they were supposedly there to receive feedback from. There was a glaring error in the rules as written that made submitting blank proposals legal, hence this was submitted. After months of taking their time with this ruleset that remained essentially unchanged from its original version, moderation patched this hole, which is likely one of many that will need to be patched in the days ahead.

Moderation likely hopes to sweep this error under the rug and pretend it never happened, continue the illusion that everything was on the up and up, and no one should ever question such a mistake happened.

TNP has had a complicated relationship with the GA as of late, but we have historically championed this community and supported them. Our WA minister is part of that community. They wish for the permanent record to always mark this mistake, so no one can forget what moderation did and so future players will see this strange outlier and ask why it happened, what it means. And every time that question is asked, no one will forget what happened, and no one will forget to be on guard against what happens next. This resolution is a monument to the indefatigable spirit of the GA community, and to the hubris and betrayal of moderation. Sometimes a statement must be made. Support this resolution and stand with our old friends, leave the mark. Don’t let this be a forgotten piece of trivia that helps the lie that what happened was unremarkable and unworthy of much attention. Keep your eyes wide open.

Honestly, at this point it feels like it is pointless to care about the GA, or rather, what has become of it.

The very fact that there is no argument here means it has automatically a better argument than at least 50% of repeals nowadays (and that's being generous), not to mention its symbolism. Yes, there are good arguments against this in-theory anyways, but I can't bother to grapple with them at this point.

[Non-WA] Support.
