I was a justice, once. Then I did some other stuff. But I always seem to end up back here. And I’m here again. I’m really proud of the work I have done over the years on the Court and I’m always ready to keep it going. I trust that how I feel about the issues, and about the Court and this region’s justice system, are well known by this point. Click and find out, or ask if you have any questions about it. I hope my work speaks for itself and my long cumulative tenure on the Court vouches for my ability to do this work. It is, as always, in your hands.

How would you make sure your decisions as a Justice are fair and consistent, especially when cases are tricky or the law isn’t totally clear?

Note: I'm asking this to all candidates who already have one of these threads up

Well if things are murky, we can always go back to precedent. I myself have written a few decisions already and can emulate that. The thing about precedent is that as long as it’s based on a sound legal principle and is already, well, legal, you can apply it if you’re not sure how you would respond to the case in question if it was the first time. I certainly endeavor to be fair, and I think my past rulings demonstrate that.
