First I removed the Fishplates [Track Joiners] a little tug with a pair of long nosed pliers and they come easily.

Then to convert from a 2nd to a 4th radius curve, there will be some slight adjustment made to the curve.

To assist with this, I snipped gaps in the sleeper moulding, this will allow a certain amount of movement.

Note the plastic removed between the sleepers.

I see the forum is being glitchy again

i.e. What used to work doesn't work now.

So now I've cut the resolution down from 1596 x 1197 [Which used to work]
Then 1496 x 1122 [Didn't work]
Now 1396 x 972 [Works]

Cleo went to the hairdresser today to get some pink highlights in her hair.

Her hair looks great!

Fabulously pink at the front, 'Passion Pink' the colour is called.

Because she has some grey hair the first trial of the colour didn't take very well.

So the hairdresser did another mix.

Bara brith is a traditional Welsh tea bread flavoured with tea, dried fruits and spices.

The bread is made by mixing flour (either white or self-raising), yeast (if not using self-raising flour), butter, mixed dried fruit (such as raisins, currants and sultanas), mixed spices and an egg.

Some recipes favour soaking the dried fruit in tea overnight before the baking.

This mixture is then proved to allow fermentation to take place.

After an initial period, the air is knocked out of the mixture and it is allowed to prove once more.

This period of preparation can take up to two hours, including the resting time for the bread mixture.

It is then baked in an oven.

Bara Brith is traditionally served at tea time, alongside tea.

It is normally served in slices with butter spread on one side.

Cleo and I are off on holiday to Benidorm, Costa Blanca, Spain

The taxi collected us from our home to Cardiff Airport [CWL] at 0330hrs.

Check in, Security went OK apart from Cleo triggering security with a suspicious darkness on the x-ray in her flight bag.

After inspection by the security staff, it turned out to be her purse which was full of loose British coinage.

The flight was late in departing but we made good time arriving at Alicante.

Out and about in Benidorm

After a good sleep and breakfast we though we'd give Cleo's hired disability scooter a run, well she does have a bad knee.

First stops were along the Levante beach front..........

The first picture is of Benidorm Island, using the really good zoom on my camera.

I've actually walked the length of the island a few years ago.

Benidorm Island (Valencian: L'illa de Benidorm, Spanish: La isla de Benidorm) is a small island and nature reserve of Spain, off the Spanish Mediterranean coast.

The island is near the holiday town of Benidorm, sitting approximately 3.5 kilometres (2.2 mi) from the Spanish mainland.

Most days of the week, tourists can take boat trips from the mainland to visit the island.

Benidorm Island was once known as 'Peacock Island' (Spanish: 'La Isla de los Pavos Reales').

However, the island is no longer populated by peacocks.

There are many fables regarding the island itself and how it got there including how a giant kicked a rock out of the mountain in anger which then landed in the sea.

KU Benidorm

Great spot for an afternoon drink by the sea in Benidorm

Nice spot on Levante beach to have a drink on a sunny day in Benidorm.

Staff very friendly and efficient.

Teas and coffees and beer were all reasonably priced and comfy cane furniture to while away a few hours people watching :)
