Explain Your Avatar

Many of you guys have interesting looking avatars, some change from time to time but most don't. I personally find them intriguing.

So in this thread, I'd like you to let the rest of us know:

What's your avatar? how long you've been using it for? where did you find it? Does it represent you as a character and/or your NS nation?

I start with mine:

My avatar is a still capture from the show "Community" (season 2 ep. 14, Advanced Dungeons & Dragons ), and depicts Abed, a kind of autistic magical nerd, and arguably the most iconic character in the show, acting as Dungeon Master for the most important D&D game ever played:

I just like the character and think it's become like a familiar face 'round here, so that's why I use it.

So TNP, what/who is your avatar? what's so great about it?

Sir Samuel Vimes, Duke of Ankh Morpork, Eraser of Chalkboards, Commander of the City Watch. One of the 'main' characters from Terry Pratchett's series of Discworld books, which are highly entertaining satire and overall good reads.
 
Mine is of a Helghast Officer from the series Killzone. The Helghast are heavily militaristic and fascist people. They wear their signature gas masks because it's culturally appropriate to do so all the time also becuse their planet is actively trying to kill them.

I merely like it because it is ominous. An unflinching gaze.

I have had it for only 2 months, but I don't plan on changing it ever.

lol guys. I'm a fan of Discworld series and have played killzone, but for some reason I forgot about those guys, they truly look ominous!

Also if any mod capitalises the title in the conventional way, I'd be grateful :)

Mines a random picture of Ian McDiarmid in sunglasses on the set of Revenge of the Sith, I thought it looked cool so I decided to use it appended with the caption declaring my (entirely fictitious yet rather stylish) status as our regional minister of cool (a reference to this sketch from 'Bang Bang, It's Reeves and Mortimer'. and yes, that is David Walliams as Peter Mandelson.)

This is a cool wolf, I use this wolf because it is a cool wolf. If I find another cool wolf, I will use that wolf, but this is the current wolf. If I find something that is also cool but is not a wolf, I will most likely use it for a few days, get bored, and find something that is just as cool.

My avatar changes according to my mood, I cannot understand how anyone can keep the same avatar for years without getting tired of looking at it.
 
Hello,my Avatar is Morte from Darksiders II.My son played the game,I saw him and tada!
I use this Avatar from the first day I made my signature and not planning to change it in the near future.
For me personal,means nothing,but I've made it to show it to my son,he liked it,I like it and therefore I use it.
 
Mine is fairly self explanatory, but its a bit old. I sketched it when I was in the NPO before I set up my current pattern of flag with the stripes, so its just the desert rat.
 
I choose this when Kidding and other people strat call me Nessie, so i choose the best and cute picture of the Loch Ness' monster for my avatar
 
I think I was there Nessie, heh ;) That's the kind of Avatar that I like, it's easy to know if you're around, there's only one Loch Ness Monster!

Anyway, TNP is not very bad, other NS offsite forums are so full of attractive young actors and anime characters, I can barely stand it lol (nothing against actors or anime characters, obviously, I just like variety, that's all)

My avatar is Azrael, a character from the Batman comics. He is known as the "Avenging Angel" who wields the Sword of Sin, which burns with the souls of the damned. I thought that dovetailed nicely with my character, who is an inquisitor in the name of Flemingovianism.

I agree, so I decided to dedicate the rest of the month to one of my all-time favorite characters: Dr. Frank N. Furter. It's almost Halloween, and one of my favorite pastimes this time of year is to shout and throw objects at the TV while watching the Rocky Horror Picture Show.

Um... well, Yalk and I get into some really crazy stuff on Discord. At one point, after Yalk revived from the dead as an eldritch flesh monstrosity (don't ask), Darc got really scared and cast a strange spell that turned him into this black-scaled, yellow-eyed ancient dragon.

...we get up to very strange things on Discord.
