Late last night, the now-minority RDP government lost their vote of confidence. Accordingly, Prime Minister Briggs sent the King a recommendation that he dissolve the Parliament. Although only an election for the House of Commons is necessary, Briggs had the Senate dissolved anyway.

This election will not decide the overall result, but will be used to determine the votes of the swing-provinces of Clethelbend and East and West Plinkenshire. Together they have 14/66 Senate seats, the House of Commons is designed to be double the size of the Senate, (Our resident Aussies might notice something familiar here.) so this vote will be roughly influence 28/132 seats in the House of Commons.

Theoretically, the House is elected by MMP, and the Provinces elect their Senators by STV. However, I am simply going to apportion the winners of all 14 Senate seats proportionately with the result of this vote. I will redistribute some votes for parties that don't win seats to parties that are closer in terms of ideology. I will then factor it into the main House of Commons election result based on the population of these three Provinces. Any questions or comments are welcome.

For the sake of random distortions, you get two votes. Preferably, I'd like everyone to vote for one of the two major parties (Revolutionary Democrats or the Nationals) and then vote for one smaller one. But I can't force you.

The point is, the right wing bloc must have a significant amount of votes, even if it is a minority, to make the election realistic. Elections in this part of the country are close.

The official logo of the RDP is green!
OOC: Internationally, the Socialist color is red :P
I know. I was just messin' around. Anyway, if the New Left doesn't pick up support I'm going to end up with a hung parliament. And that is never fun.

Only 66 senate seats? geeze thats hardly considered a discussion in Andulus. (In reference 1 out of 8 houses of the Andulus Parliament contains 75 members and houses with a sub-house can reach as many as 225 members, meaning in total the Andulus Parliament contains roughly 900 members)

(Since the results of this vote have been so left-wing, and the elections in this part of Plembobria are supposed to be close, I have decided to use the results to calculate the allocation of the left wing parties among the left-wing vote, which I have decided to make a whopping 60%.)

BREAKING -- Plembobria now has its first ever hung parliament. The Nationals won a plurality of seats this election. PSF has had their worst showing. They're down from 32 to 6 seats. The New Left (which split from the PSF) won 12.

The Right-wing bloc is two seats short of a majority. They also won the Senate. If Briggs can convince the PSF and FEP to join in a confidence agreement, she may still remain as prime minister.

If no one wins a vote of confidence, the king will appoint whoever he feels has the best ability to pass legislation. It's a difficult call to make, due to the difference in between the two house of parliament. In the mean time, the king retains full control of the government.

(OOC: Wait a minute. The Nats and Libs did the worst out of the parties....why did we vote if this was the result you wanted?)
