ARCHIVED: Uthvaq Shanar

Kultur kul Luft had already completed his morning routine and was regaling the enraptured Nord guard with one of his tales; this one was about Zephyr and the Bard. The Aradaki guard was keeping guard, watching out the extra-large window and glancing over at the extra-large door every so often. The human that Kultur had requisitioned from his ship was currently looking over the brochure the Syrixian Minister had handed them and planning their day. While there was comparatively little time in the day due to Kultur's schedule, due to the fact that he still needed to perform his duties as the Minister of Culture, Kultur guessed that, due to the fact that he and his entourage could fly straight to their various destinations, he would have enough time through the week to complete most of the activities.

Kultur completed his tale shortly before the human completed planning out the trip; he waited for the human to finish before exiting the room, his guards and the human following shortly behind. Kultur waited silently in the lobby, ignoring the many stares and gasps from the humans around him, as he waited for the Syrixians to return his human escort's call, as he was unsure whether he would have to be escorted throughout the country or even whether they already had a schedule for him.

As the Guslants and Kaltians arrive in Balamb, the Minister of Homeland Security, Hannah Yahri, chosen to greet the Wolvish because of their security requests, stands in Inirvik International Airport, located outside Inirvik, the capital of Kuliqoputhiyu Province. As the Wolvish car pulls in, Minister Yahri steps out to meet the Crown Princess and her associates.

Hannah: Your Highness, so wonderful to meet you. I am Minister Hannah Yahri, positioned in the Executive Cabinet as Minister of Homeland Security. I was sent here to greet you due to my position and how it correlates to your security requests. Don't worry. They've all been granted. That said, Your Highness, do you have any questions?

Meanwhile, in Balamb...

Tour Guide Qirien Axelsson enters the lavish lobby of the Imperial Resort and finds his way to Kultur kul Luft easily.

Qirien: Hello, Kultur! Nice to meet you and syodi Uthvaq Shanar! My name is Qirien Axelsson, and I've been appointed by the Prime Minister to get you started on your activities. I am, of course, a tour guide, so I can tell you anything you need to know about the festivities, where you want to go, how it works, facts about Syrixia itself, and more! Now then, where do you want to start?

Sarah smiled enthusiastically Thank you minister, I was actually curious as to whether or not I could take a look around some of your historical sites.. oh and whether or not there were any galas or the like planned this evening..." then whispered "preferably somewhere I can leave most of the goon squad behind..." she winked, already sensing the look of disapproval on Jaeger's face.

Hannah: Sure. However, as your application to join the festivities was quite late we have not arranged a tour guide to take you on a tour. HOWEVER, as I am Minister of Homeland Security I know a lot about this nation, its history and its locations of interest. If you like, I could take you on a tour myself.

Hannah motions behind her, pointing to a large helicopter in which she arrived. This would be where they would tour Syrixia from the air.

Kultur turned to his human escort, who stepped forward. The Nord continued to stare at the tour guide while the Aradaki stared around at the other Syrixians, who gave the dragons a wide berth. "We'd like to start with the aerial tour," the Klarlierter said, flipping through his notes. Kultur turned his attention back to the tour guide as he stood up, prepared to begin the day in earnest.

Sarah grinned "I'd be delighted Minister, i'm sure that my security detail can handle preparing the hotel room..." [ii] giving Jaeger a knowing look as he motioned for the cars to continue on before the princess made her way to the helicopter. [/I]

Hannah: Sounds good. Where would you like to go first?

Meanwhile, in Balamb...

Qirien: Alright! Pardon my fellow countrymen, they have never seen dragons as they're very rare outside of Darcania for all we know. Now then, where would you like to go first?

Hannah and Qirien, though in different cities, both possess a map of Syrixia and a key describing each province briefly. They show it to their assigned foreign delegates.

MAP: https://www.nationstates.net/page=dispatch/id=328895

The Princess thought for a second, eying up the small descriptions of each province "Could we visit Melgaeta first? I've always had a passion for ancient history." smiling as she sat where she thoguth she might get the best view

Kultur stared at the map for a time before answering: "We'll start over Balamb before moving on to Ahashaq, followed by Melgaeta, then Akhan and Akanalfia." He stretched his wings out as he prepared for the long flight. "I assume we will be able to stop for lunch sometime during the tour?" he asked. The Aradaki dragon hissed at a nearby curious Syrixian as he approached Kultur a little too closely; he quickly backed away.

As the Tronkandalian party exited the Neptune Resort, a motorcade was already waiting for them. They stepped into the assigned vehicle and drove off.
"Welcome!" the man in the front passanger seat said. "I hope you have a great stay here during the festivities! We thought you'd like the aerial first, so we're on our way to Miraca International Airport, where The Syrixian Star awaits you. If you have any questions, please, feel free to ask us or the aircraft crew."
"Thank you very much" The King replied. "This arrangement is a huge undertaking! My compliments for making it run so smooth! You are indeed efficient in your work. Say, are you from here? I was wondering if we could get a short highlight on the way to the airport."
They looked out the windows as the man pointed out significant buildings and explained their history. After a short while they arrived at the airport.
"Thank you very much for the tour" The King said to the man in the car. "I really think I should get a more in-depth guiding later. Your culture and history is really exciting!"
The car pulled over and stopped by the Syrixian Star. The crew was already waiting outside the plane.

As the Wolvish and Darcanians were off to the Melgaeta and Ahashaq Provinces, the pilot of the Syrixian Star, Jake Husa, met the King outside.

Jake: Your Majesty, welcome to the Syrixian Star- Syrixia's top airplane, reserved for our greatest allies and our highest executives. Where would you like to go first on your tour?

Jake shows Fredrik a map of Syrixia.

At Melgaeta...

Hannah: This is Melgaeta Province, home to the ancient seat of the Kingdom of Melletonia, Miraca. This city is easily one of Syrixia's most important, and is home to countless archaeological sites and peoples of old Melletonian culture. I assume we'll be flying into Miraca?

At Ahashaq...

Qirien: This is Ahashaq Province. Zielodo, its capital, is one of the principal cities of Syrixia and a center of culture, as exemplified by sites such as the Viqha Chola hanging gardens, modeled after the old hanging gardens of Babylon! Zielodo itself is unique because it was built on a swamp, which means if you want we can land there we can take a tour and see some wild animals, and if we're lucky we may spot the Syrixian Dodo, a cousin of the extinct Dodo Bird that has and continues to flourish in the hot swamps of Zielodo.

Sarah nods emphatically "Please, I really want to see it all for myself. she smiles "Will wemeet with the other delegates later?" she inquired, half remembering this was a diplomatic mission

Kultur turned to his left and saw the Aradaki guard eyeing some of the wildlife on the ground. He looked at the ground himself, though he didn't see any ground-based birds. "No," Kultur said, "we will continue on to Melgaeta." He looked back at his guard; she appeared to be very hungry, and he didn't trust her to stay still during any wildlife tour. "We also wish to take lunch there."

Qirien's tour:

Qirien: Alright. We're coming up on Miraca now. Miraca is the capital city of Melgaeta Province and was once the seat of government of the old Kingdom of Melletonia. The city was founded by King Alfred I of Melletonia, known to some as Alfred Odi, his personal name. He seized the bountiful and highly contested wealth of the old merchant's confederacy of Demhakar, which had long since fallen, and used this to grow his kingdom and make himself the basis of all Syrixian leaders to date with his compassion towards his people, his quick and stalwart decision-making in war and politics, and his general proficiency in the role of King. Miraca itself still shows this impact, as many residents of the surrounding area still abide by Melletonian culture.

Qirien gets a message from Hannah.

Hannah: Where's your tour going? The Wolvish want to meet other delegates, and I think they'd be fascinated by the dragons of Darcania.

Qirien: Miraca, ma'am.

Hannah: Same here. Good. We'll meet up on the helipad on top of the Provincial Assembly building.

Qirien: Yes, ma'am.

Qirien turns off his text messaging.

Hannah's tour:

Hannah turns to the Wolvish delegates.

Hannah: Alright. It appears the delegates from Darcania are heading to Miraca on their air tour as well, so you can meet them. That's their helicopter now.

Pilot: Aaaaaaand, we've landed!

Hannah and Qirien meet up along with the Darcanians and the Wolvish on the roof of the Melgaetan Provincial Assembly building.

Hannah: Oh, Your Highness, I should've mentioned, the government of Darcania is controlled by intelligent dragons. Don't worry, I've seen them before, they're just like any other government official.

Qirien: Your Highness, I am Qirien Axelsson. I am the tour guide of the Darcanians. Pleased to meet you.

Hannah: Excuse me; I must go, I have business to attend to with the festival security back in Balamb. I believe you are more capable with aerial tours anyway, so good luck.

Qirien: Yes, ma'am. The Darcanian dragons can fly, so the helicopter should be able to fit the Wolvish in with the Darcanian human staff.

Hannah: Good. See you.

Hannah's helicopter flies off, en route to Balamb.

Qirien: (Talking to the Darcanians) Now then, it's about lunchtime. Parliament has arranged for the Melgaetan Provincial Assembly to book us a reservation at "Kula'thuur Vacheiqo Melletonian Bistro", one of the finest restaurants in the city, if not the finest. We've prepared large tables outside for you, and smaller ones for your staff. The Wolvish may come with us. We have booked seats right by the window, which can be opened, so you can talk from outside and we can talk from inside; and we can communicate effectively. Again, apologies for the inconveniences, the restaurants are designed for humans. Don't worry though, once we all gather in Parliament Hall in a couple days, the rooms are so big you'll fit comfortably.

Qirien: (Talking to both the Wolvish and the Darcanians) Now then, shall we go and eat?

Sarah smiles "I'm absolutely famished..." then bowing slightly to the Darcanians "A pleasure to meet you esteemed delegates, I am Crown-Princess Sera, representative of the Khan of Wolfsea." she smiled warmly.

(OOC: Was gonna post but never mind. I feel it only appropriate to wait for a response from Darcania before the story progresses.)

"Thank you very much, captain Husa." The king replied. After looking at the map for a short while, he said "I would really like to see the provinces of Melgaeta, Akhan, Zindra and Odiviiq. You don't have to do them in any particular order. I really look forward to this flight." He looked around inside the plane, darting back and forth. At the age of 24, he was the youngest regent in Tronkandal history. He usually tried to act like a monarch, but sometimes his youth took over.

"Hey, Per!" He yelled. The prime minister had taken his seat and heard the Kings' muffled voice. He rose with a grunt and walked over. "What is it, your majesty?" he asked.
"We really need an upgrade, Per!" The King said excitedly. "The old Starstreaker is a bit... Dull. At least compared with this beauty!" The King had a special fondness for airplanes and helicopters.
"We don't really need an upgrade. Our own planes is doing a great job. I admit the models we have are starting to get a bit old, but..." The King cut him off.
"A bit old!? They were old when I was born! My dad bought them after the war! The war, Per! That's 30 years ago!"
"Well, we'll look into it after our visit here." Per said, rolling his eyes. In this mood, it was best just yapping along.

As the plane took off, the King had calmed down from the initial excitement from seeing the plane and read the information pampflet about the festivities. He sometimes stopped to take notes.

Jake: Got it, Your Majesty. Though, if you haven't noticed, we're in Melgaeta Province now; so I can arrange a helicopter. Tell the tour guide we have there when you're ready to come back here and you can then visit some other provinces with us.

Jake presses a button, probably used for alerts. A helicopter flies over around two minutes later. Around five minutes after the Tronkandalians arrive in downtown Miraca, near Kula'thuur Vacheiqo Bistro. The Tronkandalians are escorted to the restaurant, where they were assured by the driver that Qirien would take them back to the Star after a nice Syrixian lunch.

Qirien: It's as if the tourists don't stop coming! Hello, your Majesty. I'm Qirien Axelsson, a tour guide. This is Crown Princess Sarah of Wolfsea and this is Kultur kul Luft, Minister of Culture of Darcania. Yes, he's a dragon; you probably haven't seen them much. Don't worry, though, they're nice. Kultur can tell you more.

Qirien takes a bite of his oq'dhi (ground beef wrap) and then spoke again once he finishes his bite. He then passes a menu to the King.

Qirien: Please, your Majesty, sit down. What would you like to eat?

MENU:

-Oq'dhi [Ground beef wrap, served with Syrixian onion patties (Like onion rings, but without a hole in the center) and ranch dressing dip]

-Cheenarn (a tomato sauce ravioli dish served with rice)

-Vyio'rde-iijl'e (Turkey sandwich, made with cold cuts processed from the meat of the rare Syrixian Turkey)

Kultur listened intently to Qirien's small speech on the history of the city. While it was part of his job to learn as much as he can about foreign cultures, he still found history and culture to be a very interesting topic. He made a mental note to himself to study as much as he could about this older culture before following his helicopter to a helipad. He and his guards landed with a gust of wind, though their wind was relatively minor to the helicopter's wind. He watched as another helicopter landed; while his two guards stared intently with suspicion at the other helicopter, Kultur assumed, due to the reaction of his tour guide, that it was likely a delegation from another foreign power.

He returned the bow the foreign delegate - no, princess - gave with an inclination of his head before introducing himself: "I am Kultur kul Luft, the Darcanian equivalent of a Minister of Culture." He was highly impressed by her reaction: She remained charismatic and warm despite the presence of the three dragons. He wondered inwardly if a clan of dragons lived in or near her country. "That is perfectly acceptable, Qirien," Kultur continued. He expected that such a human-centric nation would have to make such ad hoc accommodations and was prepared to accept any such. He followed Qirien and the princess' helicopter to the restaurant, where he and his guards made themselves comfortable.

He, and especially his guards, watched intently as a vehicle approached; likely it was yet another delegation. He waited over his fresh Vyio'rde-iijl'e for the new delegation to introduce themselves, and ordered his guards to also wait before eating their Oq'dhi.

"JAYSUS!" The King yelled as he suddenly was standing in front of a dragon. He immediately bowed his head. "I am so sorry, Kultur kul Luft! It is the first time I see one of your kind. I hope you will forgive me for my rudeness! I am King Fredrik of Tronkandal. I am delighted to meet you" He turned towards the Crown princess. "It is a pleasure to meet you, your highness. I am King Fredrik of Tronkandal." He took a deep bow. As the King sat down, his foreign minister turned to Kultur, obviously eager to know about their society.
"I think I'll have the Oq'dhi, please" The King said.

Sarah smiled and bowed slightly to the Tronkadalians "A pleasure to meet you." then sat at the table by the window, staring at the menu "I'm really not sure... Commander?" looking up to her bodyguard but Jaeger shrugged "No idea your highness..." his voice making him rather conspicuous amongst the delegates. Sarah shrugged herself and ordered the Vyio'rde-iijl'e before turning to Kultur "I believe we share a border do we not?" she smiled, not noticing Jaeger's look of utter exasperation.

Kultur expected a reaction from the new delegation, but was surprised by the sheer magnitude of the delegate's reaction. His two guards stood up in surprise, likely expecting an attack, and continued staring at the king and his delegation even after calming down. Kultur returned an inclination of the head while listening to the king's introduction. "A pleasure," he said as the king turned to address the princess. He turned to Qirien and let his contempt show. "It would seem the other delegations have the advantage over me," he said. He turned back toward the other delegations as both a member of the King's party and the princess attempted to start a conversation with him; he apologized quickly to the minister before turning to the princess. He thought to himself for a moment. "I am... unsure," he said. "I don't know much about the geography of any other nations." He made a note to himself to speak with Ulus kul Leiter before tomorrow and receive information about these nations.

Sarah smiled more, excited about meeting a dragon "there were dragons in the old Etrebean times... Kul Katura was the most famous." she said, wondering if the name had significance as she took a bite, Jaeger stood silently beside her.

The Cascadian Commonwealth
Application to Syrixia's Uthvaq Shanar

Nation (Full name): The Republic of The Cascadian Commonwealth

Representative(s) Attending: Ambassador John Smith

Which resort will your representative(s) stay at?: Neptune Resort

Any special request(s)?: John requests that he bring his goldfish. If this is a problem, he'll understand.

"Kul Katura?" he asked. "Likely, Katura was the name of their clan," he explained. "However, not all dragons like our 'system'," he continued. He searched through his memories for any stories about the Katura clan. "I'm not sure, but I believe the one who started the a clan named Katura was a religious scholar who worshiped a goddess of the moon," he explained. "Is that similar to what you've heard? If not, it was likely either an exile from that clan or a dragon that was hatched clanless and became famous alone." He wondered silently what the other delegation's minister wanted; he felt it would be rude to prioritize a minister over a princess, but at this point he was wondering if he was being rude to the other minister. He knew how to deal with humans, but he still didn't know everything about human customs.

Sarah nodded "The Etrebeans say there were two dragons, Kul Katura the moon wyrm and Garrowmaw the sun serpent, who were brothers, good and evil, and Kul Katura sleeps under the city named after him." then blushed intensely at the taste of the second bite of her sandwich, unused to such fine food

"Really?" Kultur replied. "That bears some similarities to our religion." He stopped explaining there as he finally began eating his food; truly, it was delicious. He looked over to the minister in the other delegation to let him know that he could speak. His guards also became calm enough to dig in to their own meals, though the female continued to stare intently at the king.

(OOC: It's been too long since Syrixia or midtkandal posted. I'm not posting again until they can catch up. It will also give me an excuse to get some sleep.)

(ooc same here, will try to get back on tomorrow but am working late so could prove difficult, just assume Sarah is in a food daze XD)

(OOC: I won't have the time to post anything until tomorrow evening (UTC+1). We've got a bastardly high workload right now and I'll have to sleep over at work tonight. To top it off, the TNP forum is blacklisted from our workcomputers and wi-fi. No wonder some of our patients hate it here :p)

(OOC: I'd rather give time for you and especially midtkandal to address the previous posts before continuing the RP.)

(OOC: That was an IC conversation between you and Wolfsea, but I agree Midtkandal should respond.)

Syrixia:
(OOC: That was an IC conversation between you and Wolfsea, but I agree Midtkandal should respond.)
(OOC: I referred to Qirien once and referenced Midtkandal's minister once. I figured you and Midtkandal should respond to those and have a few posts of your own before continuing.)

Qirien looks at the Wolvish and Darcanians with interest.

Qirien: Perhaps the Wolfsea-Darcania region has more evidence of dragons inhabiting the area outside of Darcania itself. I'll tell the Prime Minister when he greets you in Balamb. He would be interested in such a thing.

(OOC: If Midtkandal doesn't post by this evening, let's just go on and see what he does along the way.)

John walks in after a luxurious night at the Neptune Resort.

Mr. Smith: Hello everyone! My goldfish loved the resort last night. He felt right at home with all the fishies. Is there a chance I can take him on my aerial tour? He'd like that.

(OOC: Syrixia, remember to update the OP with my nation. Thanks! :D )

The clerk at the front desk looks at John and smiles.

Clerk: Sure, lucky enough for you, the tour has stopped here in Miraca for lunch! You should join them quick before they leave; they're at the bistro down the street from what info the government's given tells me.

OOC: Dropping out of this thread as I'm in the Valley this entire weekend and will not be able to post and keep up with this role play scenario.
