New forums

Well I suppose I can see why so many people are assuming registering means support. Personally, as a visitor, I'm curious as to what's happening on both forums. So I'm registered on both.

But really, does it truly matter all that much who approaches who about seeking some resolution to all this? To my mind, the goal is the important thing, which is resolving it. Those who play the major part in that will be the bigger men (and women).

I am always leery of registering on forums if the Administrators are unknown to me. They have access to our IP addresses. If they are not mature and responsible individuals as we have here, I am not confident I can trust them with that information.

Let's be clear about the potential for abuse concerning IP addresses.

During Pixiedance, when Insane Power took control of Pixiedance, he move the NPD/NPG to a new forum, and IP blocked a number of us due to the access to IP information at the forum Cathyy had move the region to immediately before she ceded control of Pixiedance to Moldavi.

So the concern about IP information access is a real one, because many of us have been the victims of abuse with respect to IP information. This explains why we severe forum administration and government, and strictly limit access to IP information. It explains why there was a strong reaction to the Limitless Events affair.

This is also why the current rule here is that it would take a majority of all regional assembly members to change forums; in order to prevent such abuses in the future. (And that is the procedure we followed in moving from Old Blue to here.)

I agree. I haven't registered on his forum, in part because of the IP issue, but I admit to curiosity, and I don't see any reason why a political dissenter couldn't go there to argue.

Apart from the IP issue, establishing a totally parallel forum with a new government structure (instead of a resolution forum like under SoS) tells me that Dali announces "time for discussion is over".

RE Gross's history lesson, if I recall there was some crap being posted on the NPU end that led to bannings and dont act all innocent, Dilber was using avtar's to nick IP addresses himself!

It also indicates an unlawful/unconstitutional usurpation of the whole region. Essentially it would be tantamount to a delcaration of war on the region by the delegate.

So.....

Once again we are left with two possible courses of overt action:

1. We give in (unacceptible, IMHO)

2. We work to convince the Delegate to return authority to the legally constituted government - a government and constitution, incidentally, that the Delegate promised to uphold

3. We have removed rogues before and we can do it again. Unpleasant as it may be, we may have to do exactly that should the delegate do anything to actually go dictator. Since we have already recieved the demand that election for Delegate be stopped, all indications are that we are going to have to engage in a splendid little war to take back our region. I would imagine that Dali doesn't want it to come to this, but any attempt to usurp the government by creating a new regional forum and setting up a new government there in violation of the constitution he is bound to uphold by oath would leave us no choice in the matter. Not to mention that Delegates who go rogue tend to lose all credibility in NationStates from that point on.

One. I'm disappointed in Dalimbar.

But my biggest disappointment rests with a government that was unresponsive to our repeated inquiries for information regarding the 'talks' with Dalimbar.

We were hopeful - yet we have been played as fools.

We were patient - yet we've now been told to move along to a new forum as if we have no say in the matter.

To that I say, F**k this...TNP has been and always will be a community defined by it's reliance upon democratic principles. And no new rogue delegate will change that and the latest stagnant government won't kill it either.

Romanoffia,

I think anyone who joins that forum should be prosecuted for bad taste. That forum is so poorly decorated and the color scheme leaves much to be desired. Is that possible?

LOL! We'd have to establish a Ministry of Aesthetic Deletions to accomplish that on.

I would say prosecuting those who join that forum would be a waste of time and it would play right into Dali's hands.

The main for Dali is that Dali is now going to be in the company of the likes of USP Rail, Francos Spain, Pixiedance, Ivan, Cathyy and IP. But that's the path he has chosen to go down. What did the RL Francisco Franco say? "I am responsible only to God and History"? Look what it got Franco - he is remembered for being a whacko dictator and will forever be associated with shenanagans like Gernica.

The best thing that Dali can do is to not resist elections for a new delegate and simply transfer power to the next duely elected delegate. If he does anything different, he is finished in NationStates.

Given the fact that I think he's going off to college soon, I doubt he'll have the time to fight against a well-fought unendorsement campaign. Considering this as well as influence, I don't think it will be as difficult to unseat him as people may think, should diplomacy fail.

In order to save face, most rogue delegates "voluntarily" hand back the delegacy when the unendorsement campaigns get to be too much, however.

I disagree with the new forums. However, seeing as how he IS delegate, I need some way to contact him on banning spammers. At least until elections follow through.

God I hope Upper Kirby is more active that it seems to us common folk. Underground movements NEED an active leader in order to be successful. Thel and the GiE, Tres and the NPC, Shasoria and the TWP GiE, etc. Disorganized opposition always fails. See: the Free Pacific Army effort.

Hopefully unendorsement campaigns are being planned and/or carried out. Dalimbar's "truce" has set us back - a strategic win for him especially considering his lengthy vacation several days ago.

Fulhead is right, though; things need to happen fast (and I'm sure the cabinet is working to this end). If I can be of any assistance let me know.

Now that's just crazy talk, GBM.

Remember - solidarity < keeping ASCII off the rRMB.
Byard, your childlike arguments mean less than zero to me. Why the HELL I'm addressing them, I don't know, but I feel that it has some relation to me restating for about the fifth time that I only support his RMB policies.

Yes. Telegrams work. However, the position in his government, which I HIGHLY doubt will ever get going but it's worth a try, in relation to the RMB has much power that shows much efficiency.

I will oppose the use of the forums. However, I will continue to communicate with Dalimbar in relation to Regional Message Board-related issues.

To address the LATEST talks:

I have no problem with a new delegate. Dalimbar should be left in the dust. His RMB policies shouldn't, however.

We should hold an emergency election to at least get someone sane up there.

I've just sent Dali a PM in an attempt get reconsideration of recent actions and am awaiting a response.

My conclusion is that we go ahead with elections and if neccessary, do everything honorably possible to take him down if he doesn't adhere to the oath of office.

Either that of I'll run for PM and then you'll all be in it! :o

A rogue delegate is reason to take up arms.
Write me in if I'm not on the ballot.

Right so we have elections quickly, start off an unendorsement campaign and then get the government back in power. Simple enough eh?
