Dear Dereanta,
I would like to clarify some assumptions you have posited in your recent telegram to me.
In a democracy, there are usually no provisions for mandatory voting. This is especially the case in a fantasy game such as NationStates. Participation, while it can be encouraged, cannot be enforced.
My nation, as a part of the Regional Assembly, endorsed the nomination of FEC a few months ago, and wholeheartedly supports her delegacy. That said, my nation is also currently part of the Grand Jury reviewing evidence for a potential impeachment trial against said delegate, and has decided in an unbiased manner that these charges warrant a trial to resolve the matter.
Returning to the discussion of participation, my nation makes a point of telegramming the delegate, whoever he or she may be at the time, to place our vote on the UN resolution of the day. It is beyond the control of FEC, as well as delegates past and the delegate that succeeds her, to increase the number of nations that vote on any given UN resolution. Furthermore, this is a situation that is not unique to any one particular feeder region.
So, to answer your question regarding whether or not the delegate solicited and received my opinion on said matter, the answer is clearly yes. With respect to the matter of the delegate voting on a UN resolution early, I contacted FEC about the matter and she assured me that this is done only temporarily and her vote ultimately reflects the will of the region. Upon monitoring the situation, I found her assurances were valid.
With respect to your comments on the number of TNP nations that voted to elect FEC, I believe my earlier comments have already addressed your concerns.
Regarding your comments on the "inner circle" that you claim adminsters TNP, this again is a matter of participation. The "inner circle" you speak of is a group of dedicated individuals who devote countless hours administering this region. I am grateful to their efforts, for it is a task I would not undertake, and, judging by the level of activity by the vast majority of TNP residents I have seen in my 18 months in NS, it is a task that few others undertake.
While my participation in TNP is middling at best, I feel far from powerless with respect to "how my region is run". As such, I respectfully decline your request to withdraw my endorsement of the current TNP UN delegate FEC.
Sincerely,
Steve Perry, GCRC,
President, Republic of Teruchev.
