Okay, so this has been bugging me for a couple of days now, and I still don't have the answer.

I've asked my friends and people at work, and no-one seems to have a definitive answer.

Interesting American history trivia: the first time the newly independent America sent troops to fight a war with a non-American force was against the Barbary Pirates. :eyebrow:
 
"The Cowboys" was the name of the first example of organized crime in America.

I'm biased. I picked cowboys. Besides, in my experience, pirates have been paranoid assholes.
