No, wrong country altogether....There's a movie out at the moment that I haven't seen, based on a book that I haven't read, that was alledgedly(Though disproven recently in court)based on a book that I have read, and this place features heavily in the original book, so I kinda assumed it would appear in the second book and the Movie.....

More clues:
This city is pretty well known for those you do watch or read news.
And I just learnt that middle east is sometimes not necessarily middle east. So it can be middle east but somehow not (hint: I am not a native english speaker).
