Where Am I?

i dont even know where Bairnsdale is.

Right country though

Edit: heres a hint, the state this place is in has had two names, both named after Dutchmen

I didn't check the URL, I expected SR to be more clever than that. :P

Ever since MP got Bratislava right because I forgot to change the picture names, I don't expect anyone to forget this.

We'll do a game, okay?

Everyone posts a letter, and the ones who have a letter wrong are excluded, and the one who happens to have the last letter gives us the next location? :)

I'll start with a P... ......

Australian quality, baby! :P

Okay, enough now.

One huge, the give-away hint:

in the country this city lies in, they do NOT use the Latin alphabet, but a different one.
And have a look at the church, I mean it is sooooo typical for this "religion" (it's not really a religion in the strict sense).

Now I'm more confused. When is a religion not a religion? Why would a church with crosses on the top not denote a gathering place for a religious group? Oh, this is befuddling.

Syd? Blackshear? Please come help!

Sigh, I didn't want to use that word...it is not a religion on its own, only a special Christian denomination.

Coptic? No, the people would be darker in Ethiopia I guess.
Other denomination...

And don't forget the alphabet, eh?!

Oh und sorri vor ze confuddlin you, butt me britainese is far from perfect.
My hints were meant to clarify the whole thing. :pinch:
