The Crown Conflict

While in between his graveyard shift and between bites of his cereal on February 24th, William Crenshaw looks at his television and sees the newest order made by that prat, Robert Pembley, whom William did not trust at all. The executive order signed by Stokes makes Argonisi's borders open to all refugees of the Conflict between Cogoria and Scallendovia who pass the borders test. William couldn't be any more livid...

The Rodina & Zhukov Patches - The People's Peace Campaign - Always Be Prepared!

In times of war abroad, Imperium must always be ready to go to campaign! Our nation is built on being prepared for anything that may come in both war and peace, and it is YOU who are the first line of defense against the great crises of the world! Every August citizen - man, woman, and child - must be prepared to become the front, protecting their neighbours and their comrades from the onslaughts of nations and nature until they can be relieved by our brave troops! This is the crux of our military doctrine, the famous hammer and anvil, where even our littlest does their part to hold the enemy at bay, knowing that Caesar's own shall depend on us to stand firm as they take the fight to our foes!

We must remember the acts of Cogoria's Little Rodina, who was for the good of the nation pulled from the train by her protectors in the Communist regime so that she could unite her home front! They knew that she would be the crucial binder of the Cogorian anvil, against which the heroes and patriots of the Cogorian army shall hammer their enemies! You too must be ready to serve like the People's Princess!

Imperium's People's Peace Campaign will help you prepare for the war on the home front, in case the Scallendovian aggressors come to commit the folly of marching against our great Pax Latina! The Rodina Patch has been instituted, to find the best shooters in our schools, universities, and communities. Throughout the coming month, barracks and shooting ranges across the country will be selling ammunition on a one-to-one basis, with every bullet you purchase matching another going to the heroic Cogorian patriots (5.56 and 7.62 service rounds only). You will be able to use your Peace Ammo to train for the Field Readiness Shooting Test (usually for servicers preparing for deployment), to be administered after the Cogorian War ends. Those completing the Shooting Test will be able to collect a Rodina Patch and Certificate, helping to indicate YOUR willingness to protect your communities and to do your duty!

The People's Peace Campaign is committed to helping communities come together and serve! A Zhukov Patch is also available to those who organize and participate in Peace Shootouts at their local ranges and baracks, bringing friends together to celebrate holidays, birthdays, and special occasions by Preparing for Peace! Money spent on booking venues for such Peace Shootouts will be used to fund Peace Bullets (again, matched with a Cogorian donation) for underprivileged families on the border with Arrandal, and along the northern coast.

To the Federation of Scallendovia:

It is with disgust that we hear of the actions of Scallendovia in the international scene. First cooperating with the Kingdom of Cimmerien, a widely-condemned aggressive state, and then continuing to wage a war of aggression against Cogoria and now SAA Kanada after Cimmerien left. Scallendovia has even less of a reason to continue fighting than Cimmerien, now more than ever as Cimmerien has come to its senses and left the conflict.

We are appalled that Scallendovia, as a member of the Phoenix Union, would commit such acts. We are appalled by Scallendovia's violation of Article 4 of the Union Constitution. We have heard Scallendovia's reasoning for its actions, "stopping chaos", and we find it vague, hypocritical, and utterly inadequate. We requested that one of our member states, the Principality of Sil Dorsett, issue a demand that Scallendovia leave this war. Scallendovia refused to comply with that demand.

Under these circumstances, we condemn Scallendovia's actions. We once again demand Scallendovia leave this war and cease all aggressive activities. Furthermore, we have decided by Parliament vote, considering the aforementioned circumstances, especially the severity of Scallendovia's offenses, to declare Scallendovia's membership in the Union to be at an end.

All Scallendovian Phoenix MPs are hereby stripped of their parliamentary positions and are ordered to return to Scallendovia immediately.

The New Home Front: The War of Words Starts Now!

YOU are on the New Home Front: The Digital Battlefield! Social media connects us to people around the world, and that includes the Enemy! Many kilometers away, across many borders, patriots and warheros converge together to discuss the Home Front online in Cogoria and with allies all over the world - that includes you! Do your part to support Cogorian morale, and bolster your own dedication to the War of Words! If you see something, say something!

Throughout the war effort, August Community Officers will distribute social media links to Cogorian online personalities, helping you to connect with the realities of the Cogorian War Effort! As a warrior on the New Home Front, you will be tasked with helping to fight the devious treachery of Scallendovian paid trolls and traitorous dissidents! But remember, this is a War! You must be prepared to use your judgement, and select the correct weapon!

Raise posts and social media engagement of concern with August Community Officers. Cogorians promoting the values and ideals of our friends in the Cogorian government should be shared and upheld as rolemodels for young Cogorians, and Cogorians abroad, while those who attempt to foster dissent and conflict should be REPORTED to your local Community Officer to be passed on to your comrades in the Cogorian government! And as for foreigners, watch for potential allies abroad as beacons of the War Effort in their own homes - remember, however, to seek the counsel of your Community Officer! That Scallendovian communist may not be who they seem - or even worse, they may be at risk from their own family and friends! August Community Officers will be able to take the actions needed to ascertain their genuine beliefs and security needs, for the service of Cogorian intelligence operations crucial to the war effort.

While in office thinking and discussing about the ongoing war in the coast, an intelligence officer came in with a letter in his hand sent by scallendovia MPs in the PU. Has he gave the letter to Mr president, he read it and shake his head several times "is this what i cause on my nation." He drop the letter on is table and took his phone, and call MajGen Chris at the Naval HQ telling him about the letter and the action of the PU over scallendovia.
Has MajGen Chris heard about this, he quickly left the office and go strait to the Presidential villa. On getting there, they both sit down and discuss on what to do.

"OH! I go an ideal, says Mr president

"MajGen Chris: what is it sir ?

"Mr president: I will write a letter to the National Assembly for general discussion.

"MajGen Chris: OH! That's a good ideal sir.

Mr president bow down his head and started drafting a letter to the National Assembly. When finished writing he called his vice and gave the letter to him and take it to the National Assembly general discussion.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Fire, commander yells.
Go go go !
Commander order the ground missiles luncher to strike at the Kanadian turret. All armoured tanks are moving forward lunching towards cogorian troops. " The battles continued."
--------------------------------------------------------

After the vice president arrived at the Senate, the upper house in the National Assembly. Senate president Mr james Barnet welcomed him and the vice president gave the letter to him and left immediately.

NATIONAL ASSEMBLY

Senate president stand up, welcoming others greetings those that are near to him. After everyone had finished greeting each other, they all sit down and looking forward to hear from the Senate president.

Mr James Barnet Good days everyone, I welcomed you to todays national discussion on what is happening across the nation. It really makes me sad, but I have nothing to do about this. So today I received a letter from the vice president sent on behave if mr president himself.
(Unfolding the letter) and started reading it aloud.
After he finished reading, he then sit down and call for suggestions about the Phoenix union action.

Senate member mr Lopez, stand up and greet his fellow member. You the only way will can get out of this is to withdraw from this war, and send back a letter to the PU and let's see if they can reconsider us. Another senate member stand up and tackle against what Lopez is saying, " Lets show the world that will can survive on our own, we don't depend on any organization" .
After several hours of solid discussion and without any good solution, Senate president then order for postpone and the discussion was shift till another day.

Trooping the Colours - the Cogorian Artists in Residence Campaign

The Cogorian war effort is taking people from all over their country! Their cities are factories of war, building CITIZENS to fight for their nation! We must do our part to maintain their cities as production lines of CITIZENS, living and breathing each other's indelible spirits as PATRIOTS AND WARHEROES!

The Augustine Household has decided to fund "Trooping the Colours", a fully-funded Artists in Residence campaign taking place in Cogoria. Artists will be invited to participate in one of two streams - ephemeral art, and curation - as well as an interdisciplinary stream for exceptional candidates. In the ephemeral stream, we will be targeting artists exemplifying Imperium's understanding of the synonymity between participatory art and life in our festivals, street art, and urban design. In our curational stream, we will be targeting those who exemplify Imperium's understanding of its traditional heritage conservation, creating physical spaces and exhibitions that allow Cogorians to interact with their own heritage. The interdisciplinary stream will allow some of our finest artists to build a bridge between the participation and the curation of Cogorian cultural cities, cognizant of their transformation into hubs of a New Revolutionary War.

Artists are invited to apply immediately. Folios should include at least one example of BOTH streams, either through audiovisual documentation of a successful project or a substantial project proposal. Folios should also identify a strong understanding of the cultural contexts of Cogorian aesthetics and history, through any type of art practice. Performative artists may use project briefs to fulfil this objective, with successful performative artists further auditioning on the basis of their briefs. Finally, a Second Round of selections shall be held using either interviews or formal sponsorship as to the applicant's capacity to understand the Cogorian context in an academic or practical sense. Artists will be assessed on an ongoing, competitive basis, with later applicants therefore being considered against harsher criteria.

OFFICIAL LETTER FROM HIS MAJESTY'S GOVERNMENT OF CIMMERIEN

To the government of Scallendovia,

Appalled by the actions being taken by your government against another nation after our withdrawal from the Crown Conflict, the government of Cimmerien hereby creates this ultimatum in order to force your nation to capitulate in this destructive conflict. In order to restore peace in your nation, the government of His Majesty, King Miles III of Cimmerien shall demand the following:

i. The resignation of the current President of Scallendovia,

ii. the government of Scallendovia claim full responsibility for the war against SAA Kanada,

iii. the government of Scallendovia reduces the size of its military, and,

iv. the government of Scallendovia pay 3 billion Cimmerian Credits in reparations to the parties involved.

This is a ultimatum made to force your government to announce a capitulation in order to restore peace and rebuild your nation. The alternative for Scallendovia, should you fail to meet these demands, will be Cimmerian involvement in the conflict, thus leading to the subjugation of your nation.

Regards,

Prime Minister William Brighton
Head of His Majesty's Government
Kingdom of Cimmerien

Cimmerien:
Cogoria:
When the Kanadian missive proposing an alliance first arrived it was viewed with some suspicion, however as news broke of the Kanadian ambassador in Scallendovia being taken prisoner, all suspicions were put aside and the treaty signed. Within hours of ink being put to paper,Rifle divisions began to pour across the border n trains, heading for Kanadian ports and the awaiting ships, and the Red Banner fleet began it's journey north to link up with the Kanadians.

The letter from the Cimmerien government was recieved with trepidation. It read..... Wrong. It didn't feel like a surrender, it felt like a ruse. And it made sure that only the Cogorian government and the Cimmerien representative would be allowed negotiate. While Zhukov the Princess remained on the DCR for safety, they communicated to their ministers regarding the surrender. With contradictory intelligence coming from Aegis assets regarding the President of Cimmerien flying to Scallendovia, the consensus was that it was a ruse de gurre, but unwilling to abandon the rare position as the victim of aggression a response was penned and dispatched.

From the Offices of Viktor Valinsky, Commissar for Defence
The Cogorian Government has instructed me to inform you, that your offer of surrender shall be accepted, on the condition that it is unconditional. The Cogorian government shall determine what nations may attend, and to what extent they might participate. The Cimmerien government shall send one representative of their Crown, one representative of the elected Government and one representative of the military. This delegation may take a translator, and a secretary, but no more officials shall be admitted into the chamber. You have 72 hours for your nation's envoys to arrive in the Lupagrad military base
Viktor Valinsky
Commissar for Defence

From the Offices of Grigori Zhukov, and Catherine Rokotov
To the kind representatives of the Iperial Augustum Consular Offices.
On behalf of the people of Cogoria, I thank you for uncovering the rot that had infected our nation and set our people against each other. There had long been suspicion inthe upper echelons of the Party that Ratakov had not been the most loyal of members, but to discover the extent of his treason is most concerning. A full investigation by the Chair's personal Security Department is currently underway, and we look forward to gaining the assistance of your nation in healing the wounds for which he and his co-conspirators are responsible. We anticipate the arrival of your experts in this field with great joy, as we seek to reconcile the rift in our nation. We shall once more with your help hear the deafening roar of "Cogoria United!" throughout the nation.
Grigori Zhukov, Catherine Rokotov
Chairman of the Cogorian Politburo, Princess of the Principality of Kordova

While the Chancellor is planning to send representatives to the nation of Cogoria, the Minister-President heads to the Scallendovian capital, when soon he receives this news frim his aide.

"Sir, there is a problem within the government."
"There shouldn't be."
"But, there is. We received news that Cimmerien is making a unconditional surrender to Cogoria and will send envoys to Cogoria to discuss the terms of surrender."
"What?!? Who could- It's him! It's that Brighton idiot! Damn him!! I never gave him permission to run the country!
"But sir, you left him in charge-
"To keep the nation in order, not control it! As God os my witness, I swear I will make him pay upon my return! Turn this limo around! We're going back!"
"But Mr. President, the treaty-"
"BUT NOTHING!!!!!!!!"
"The treaty signing with the Scallen-"
"To hell with the f***ing treaty! Our nation is more important! SCREW THEM!!

The limo turns around and goes straight back to the airport. angered by the Chancellor offering a truce without his permission, he tries to contact him via email on his way back to the airport. Meanwhile, the Chancellor, William Brighton, prepares to send the representative envoys to Cogoria for negotiating with the Cogorians, while ordering that nationals in the internment camps be released.

The following envoys being sent to Cogoria:

Mikael Tsopic- Minister of Foreign Affairs

Daniel Kushner- Chamberlain, King's Advisory

Cimmerian Army FM, Sir Alex Robinson- Chief of the Cimmerian General Staff

Eldrich Riker- Translator

Elise Harding- Secretary

Four of the five following delegates in the reformed government were by the new prime minister that they were to go to go to Cogoria to start negotiations and come up with a peace treaty between their two nations. When they were told, they started to prepare, and when they were ready, they head out for the airport to endure the trip to the Lupagrad base in Cogoria.

Scallendovian Beachhead
Entire platoons were being wiped out by the constant hail of missiles on the beachhead, but throughout the day the cry of "Hold!" won out time and time again. That was until the Scallendovian armour smashed into the lines. The tanks ground their way forward like a killing wave of steel. AT teams moved around them, trying to disable tanks with a shot to the side armour, but there were simply not enough RPGs. Besides, the battle plan didn't call for the enemy to be destroyed or even halted, instead the units in the tanks path continued to fold back, trying to draw them in. Meanwhile back at sea, news filtered in of Scallendovians committing their armour. The Naval infantry scrambled to their craft, within minutes the massive roar of the hover craft could be heard on the beach itself as the reserves were sent into the fray. The new landing fleet of amphibious IFVs and hovercraft were surrounded by steel vultures, as the helicopters kept apace, carrying more men, and providing aerial support. Hitting the sands, the craft didnt stop, the IFVs simply kept on driving, while the hovercraft surged up the dunes. continuing through their own lines along the flanks of the armoured assault they finally set down their troops and armour of their own. 1000 men had deployed at each side of the the bulge forming, with tanks and IFVs they readied themselves to counter attack and attempt to encircle the Scallendovians. These were the men of the prestigious Naval Infantry, well armed, equipped and superbly trained even by foreign standards, they were the cutting scalpel of the navy as opposed to the brute hammer of their terrestrial comrades. As the go signal crackled through their radios they began an assault of their own, supported by helicopter gunships.

Petrenko obviously struggled with the suggestion that he should act informally, however he managed a work around that founded more casual, but not disrespectful to anyone involved "Comrades, before you stands the 1st Special Political Officer Battalion. All my Officers have been picked from newly graduated groups. They are patriotic to a fault and will serve admirably in our venture. Come, we have a warehouse set aside for a meal so we may better discuss our tactics for this battle over hearts and minds. Never mind about wasted space however, it was emptied last night as it's contents were shipped to the front. Come, come have your comrades join us, we have much to discuss". With that the wirey colonel strolled towards a large warehouse, followed by his 120 fellow commissars, where a large number of tables had been set in a circle, surrounding large pots of a bubbling hot stew

While the commissars greeted one group of guests, a company of Revolutionary Guards, tanks and all, formed up a small bit away, anticipating the arrival of the Cimmerien delegation.

Monica smiled politely, noting the gentleman's obvious discomfort. "The battalion shall be excellent company; thank you." She indicated, indistinctly, with a pair of joined fingers. Catching the gesture, Beridzus let out a sharp chord, followed by the rhythmic stamping of the Exploratorial Maniple. Monica turned to nod at the censorial officer, who promptly took the hint, rushing back to take charge of the disembarkation process. A pair broke ranks from the Maniple, each hoisting a halberd over their shoulder. One hung a flag, fluttering in the breeze - Monica's personal coat-of-arms, her commanding Praefect's family coat as a canton and charged with a radio microphone in honour of her own person. The other had a flag clearly furled and pinned to its shaft, covered and bound again with an oilskin bag, with a hole permitting the blade of the halberd to protrude. Someone had gone to efforts to ensure it would not come undone. Black bands snaked through the waterproofed bag, usually used to protect the flag from rough weather en route.

ENCRYPTED MESSAGE FROM THE COGORIAN GOVERNMENT FOR THE SIL DORSETT GOVERNMENT
To whom It may concern,
As you are aware the state of Cogoria is engaged in a war of defence against your neighbour Scallendovia. As you read this communication, thousands of our civilians have been killed in cold blood. Scallendovian missiles have levelled residential areas in our capitol. Our soldiers are engaging the Scallendovian on their coast, this has condensed the front and continues to draw in their forces.
We believe this offers us an opportunity to bring this war to a swift end. While we are unwilling to disclose the full extent of the planned operation, we wish to be granted full access to your nation's airspace for a period of 48 hours.
In return we shall send Aid to assist in the developing refugee situation.
We await your response.
Minister Barishnikov
Minister for foreign affairs.

Acting Defense Minister Bettencourt received the request from the Cogorians for military transit through Sil Dorsett, but believing that giving permission to the Cogorians to use Sil Dorsett as a backdoor to Scallendovia would make the Principality complicit in the Cogorian war effort, she sent the letter to Princess Claidie, since Minister Ellison was still in Syrixia. Claidie, who agreed with the defense minister, scoffed at the letter and drafted her own response.

Claidie's secure letter to Cogoria:
ZBjgwjR.png

Mr. Barishnikov,

The Dorsettian Ministry of Defense forwarded your request for airspace clearance for your military aircraft to me, since there are political implications to this matter and the Prime Minister is not available at the moment. I believe that to permit this put us at odds with our neighbor and endangers the nation, as providing the means for your nation to attack Scallendovia would give them casus belli against us. It is my policy that unless we are defending a Phoenix Union member we do not engage or be complicit in military conflict if it is at all possible to resolve matters diplomatically.

For this reason, I would ask that your aircraft not use our airspace for passage to Scallendovia for military purposes.

I would like to offer to conduct and oversee negotiations for a peace treaty between Cogoria and Scallendovia, a process that we can start even while military operations are ongoing. It may not be the unconditional surrender that is desired of them, but perhaps it could expedite the end of the conflict.

KifCOE9.png

Claidie's letter was sent off to Cogoria once entered into the government's records, but it was from the government record that a mole loyal to a former minister retrieved the letter and sent it to his former boss.

Samuel Palmer, the disgraced former Defense Minister that was fired after activating the Ready Reserve following a Leningrad fly-by near the border with international waters, received the pair of letters from his confidant. Seeing an opportunity to again undermine the Princess's pacifist efforts, he drafted a secure encrypted telegram to the Cogorians, telling them exactly what to do.

Code:
Mr. Barishnikov,

I was previously Sil Dorsett's Minister of Defense before Claidie fired me a couple of months ago. I may not run the ministry anymore, but I still retain some loyal contacts inside that keep me appraised on what is going on.

One of my loyal employees gave me a copy of your request for military transit through our airspace, and since all of Claidie's letters are put in government records, I was also given a copy of her reply. Know this, Mr. Barishnikov, and ensure Mr. Zhukov does as well: Her Royal Highness is a cowardly and timid little girl that believes the world's problems can be resolved over cake and ice cream. To the realities of politics and military might, she's either naive or ignorant. Did you notice how she -asked- you to not use the airspace? She knows outright denying it would cause increased tensions, so she left the door open for you, while providing a way to defend herself to the IAN and Phoenix Union.

If you need Dorsettian airspace to strike a crushing blow against your enemy, just take it. Unless you start shooting at anything or anyone on Dorsettian lands, your forces won't be harmed, as she will not put the nation at risk by engaging in battle with your forces. She'll issue empty and worthless condemnations against you for it later, and she'll complain to the IAN and the Phoenix Union, but you'll get the job done and put Scallendovia in its place.

Fly your planes through at cruising altitude, descending into attack position once you're in Scallendovia. The shortest distance you'll need to cover is 46 kilometers (including territorial waters) heading west just 4 km. north of Chassion and Tippenard, which even slow planes can cover in under seven minutes. By the time the Air Force is deployed to try and escort your planes out of the nation, if she bothers to do so, you'll already be in Scallendovia, and repeated interceptions won't happen as long as your incursions are spaced out to require repeated landing and liftoff. If any of your planes are intercepted, just keep flying towards Scallendovia. As I've said before, the Princess won't risk a war with Cogoria.

By the way, let Mr. Zhukov and Princess Rokotov know that if they ever talk to Claidie, they should keep calling her "Your Highness" every chance they get. She absolutely hates it, the ungrateful little bitch...

Sincerely, a fellow comrade,
Sam Palmer

After the declination of the IAN to intervene in the removal of Scallendovia from the Phoenix Union, all scallendovian representative are back to the nation waiting for the president action on the issue. As Lord Emmanuel heard that IAN rejected the proposal , he bow down his head in is office thinking from time to time. After several hours of thinking, he makes up his mind to withdraw from the war because he had no other choice. He quickly called the minister of defense to come to his office , including all high ranked military personnel in scallendovia for an urgent meeting. When they all arrived at the presidential villa some hours later, they started discussing and they all concludes on withdrawing from the war and plead cogorian government for the action taking on them.
-----------------
In the following day, MajGen Chris call the commanding officers leading the war front telling them to fall back and ceasefire. And the troops was ordered to fallback in front of the Cogorian troops immediately after MajGen Chris was disconnected from the call.

"We loose a lots of men, a lots of weapons and even spoiled our own coast, Says Mr President". He bowed down his head, chewing the pen he wants to use to write the official letter to National Assembly to be approved before sending to the cogorian government. As he was writing the letter, he keep shaking his head with tears in his eyes. As he finished writing the letter, he then timestamped it and sent it immediately to the Senate for approval. After the letter reached the Senate and laterly reached quorum, it was the signed and sent to cogorian government as follow:-

Oktobergrad, Cogoria
2:28 AM

A bitter wind whipped through the grey high-rise suburbs of Oktobergrad, as the enormous nuclear facility stood before the half-dozen-strong team. These were elite members of the Neo-Aterkom Union, ready and willing to sacrifice their lives for their ultimate mission.

Reactor 2 was their target, attended only by skeleton crews, as other staff tried to fix the missile-damaged Reactor 4. Only a minimal resistance would be encountered.

Dressed in hazmat suits atop stolen Scallendovian army uniforms, the six entered the facility, displaying false IDs as they entered. They walked through the facility, but suddenly deviated into a small room, where they stripped off their hazmat suits and pulled out their silenced USPs.

The six strode towards Reactor 2, clad in their stolen uniforms. A worker appeared through a doorway on the left, and a look of shock appeared on his face. Although he tried to flee, he was quickly cut down by the shots. Another bullet quickly eliminated the security camera at the junction.

Two more workers suffered the same fate.

Finally, the squad reached Reactor 2.They each took out satchels of C4, planting them onto the reactor. As they began to retreat, however, a caterwaul of a siren screamed through the air. Shit! There was one camera hidden somewhere. A bullet took it out, but too late; the deed was done. They would have to fight their way out.

Two security guards stormed into the reactor room, but quick firing from one NAU member took them both out quickly. He reloaded, and the group made their way to the corridor that would eventually lead to the exit.

As they passed another junction, however, a hail of bullets from another security guard ripped through one NAU member, bullets smashing through her skull. Her body was thrown backwards against a wall, collapsing onto the floor with a limp thud. Another member fired wildly into the junction, and as the guard collapsed, they moved on.

Within a few minutes, however, the exit was within sight, the grey Cogorian sky peeking through the doorway in the distance. They managed to make their way past the exit doors.

And at that point everything went wrong.

Fifteen guards appeared at their sides, another six at their back. Before the five members could react, the guards opened fire, shooting indiscriminately into the chests of each of the members.

One guard spoke into their walkie-talkie; “The Scalls have been eliminated”. But one NAU member coughed, blood dripping from his mouth. Before any of the guards could react, however, the member grabbed the detonator from his pocket, and triggered it.

BOOM.

Twisted winds begot twisted people, and those mismanaged by the great arches of the Palace by the Seas were amongst those most twisted. Amongst their number were those highest ranked of Imperium's radicals, the great naval cabal that had been so instrumental in Caesar's life - and Varus'. Were there any officer in an August military academy who held convictions of the socialist sort, they would most likely wear the eye of Imperium's ancient galleys upon their chlamya shawls. It was no surprise that they were the most adamant of Varus' allies, dominated as they were by merchant marine and labourers of the old-fashioned sort. Even their skilled, their academics, their veterans were people drawn to the freedoms of the seas. Of travel, unbound by Caesar's domineering gaze. Varus would be joining them personally.

The Princeps-Consul had resolved to travel to what was now being called the Cogorian Diplomatic Contact Rig, in the Phoenix Strait. Imperium was no great friend of the Phoenix Strait and its alliances, but shipping traffic regularly passed through its sphere of maritime interest. Whilst much of the shipping between the far south and the Phoenix Strait travelled far from its borders, the various maritime representatives of the August government considered it a duty to maintain channels of communication and channels of travel in the area, lest maritime and natural disaster befall their charges. In exchange, Imperium's various shipping insurance and arbitration officials paid their small kickbacks to the August maritime authorities, in exchange for the open, marketable secret that a ship with the August seal on its insurance papers would likely take priority in the case of a salvage or rescue operation.

He was travelling on a small cutter, designed for law enforcement, borrowed by his naval comrades from their contacts in the August coast guard. It'd be boarding an August-owned civil vessel, a small ocean liner, with a convenient helipad, that had set sail from Plembobria and would not be stopping in Imperium. It would return missing one of its boarding customs officials - Varus, who was booked onto the liner under an assumed name. Upon passing the Cogorian Diplomatic Contact Rig, Varus would neatly disembark by helicopter, and arrive on the Cogorian Diplomatic Contact Rig.

It was as simple as that.

About five hundred metres away, one outpost of the August Nuclear Early Warning System buzzed. A gentleman by the name of Amicus was the overseer in charge. A member of Jojo's Medical Service, his career was one half the respect accorded to that service in its entirity. The day that the worst came to the worst, it would be his kin responsible for taking up the entire responsibilities of the federal government at large, as it split in twain to support a potential opposition government ruled from Neapolis. ANEWS had at its command the entirity of the August space program, its maritime tracking assets, one of Eras' most extensive state-controlled meteorological bureaus. Through its hallowed halls ran a live feed of the world's social media networks, its news outlets, its diplomatic missives. The ANEWS had a confidentiality and classification on par with Caesar's own Office - not the extensive bureaucracy that formed the Augustine Household Office, but the very room that he and his staff shared to make and break policy. The lowly officers who commanded short payslips and shorter deadlines were Imperium's most respected.

A little red light next to Amicus' little matte mug flashed red. Everything in this room was designed to facilitate the rapid and capable intake of information. Amicus had frequent breaks, but he was compelled to take them outside. That matte mug was the only mug allowed in here. Made to consume the light. There was no reflection to speak of, no glaring screens. Amicus sighed as he sipped from his mug, flipping a switch or two and referring to his screens. His eyes grew wide as a social media feed filled the screen - as he triangulated GPS coordinates, as he filed requests for information with his various intelligence contacts. As a myriad of positive responses, coded in the bright greens he'd learned to fear, trickled in.

Standing, he neatly pushed a phone off its hook on the wall. No numberpad, its bright orange cord hanging loosely. Throughout the room, microphones burst into life, triggering and patching through a conference call to dozens of officers across Imperium and the rest of the Pax Latina. What few August officials held the title of "Ambassador" had their emergency pagers pierce the airs - Timon Hill in Plembobria, Praefect Proxeny in Myroria, Giancomina in Tolima, amongst so many others. Amicus spoke with the air of someone passing judgement on the dead.

"Nuclear incident confirmed in Oktobergrad, Cogoria. Pattern consistent with civil power disaster. 99.9%. Pattern inconsistent with controlled testing. 100%. Suspected failure of Oktobergrad Nuclear Power Plant - cause unknown, degree unknown but likely severe. Pattern consistent with modus operandi of military actor. 65%. Civilian casualities confirmed."

For just a moment, Amicus was the most powerful person in Imperium. At his beck, the entire state apparatus of the nation turned at once.

Varus did not read his pager. When he felt the buzz, he knew. The buzz could only mean the one thing.

[OOC: Impact confirmed with Cogoria]

2:45 AM

The Andrenne-Goyanes Aerospace Defense Unit center was silent all night. As Commander Willem Svenson cycled through the warning systems, information was arriving of an incident in Oktobergrad, Cogoria. Intelligence reports from espionage agents within Cogoria could confirm the incident over a muffled shortwave radio transmission. As the decoded transmissions arrived on the computer, Svenson called his superior. Major General Ovderval, who was awoken from his sleep and was now heading to the bunker, was worried that the Crown Conflict had escalated into nuclear war. As he walked in and looked at the screen, it seemed that a nuclear power station in Oktobergrad malfunctioned, and that it was unknown wether or not it was a sabotage, or a genuine malfunction which caused the disaster.

The Foreign Minister, who was in Mitta, Andrenne at the time, was called to make an impromptu TV broadcast. He walked towards the barebones podium, and started speaking;

"Good day everyone. From what we can tell, a grave nuclear disaster has occurred in the Cogorian capital. We understand that there are civilian casualties, and that the cause of the incident is currently unknown. We offer our deepest sympathies, and we also offer an extensive supply of foreign aid to the Cogorian government to help with the situation. If the Cogorian government wishes to engage in such discourse, after the NWU summit, I intend to visit the Diplomatic Rig with approval from both the Ceretian and Cogorian governments. That is all."

The Colonel put his eye up to the eyepiece.
"32 degrees left. 13 up. Fire."
The ground around the artillery piece shook as it flung a piece of metal a mile away, smashing down into the middle of the battlefield. The loader turned to his parter and said,"Haven't the Scallendovians surrendered? Thats what I saw in the army's paper."
"Well, aparently some of the b*stards have gone and blown up a power plant in Cogoria after the surrender. Apparently, the Cogorian government isn't very happy about that so we're still fighting." The parter responded.
The Colonel looked down to them. "You boys have to get back to work. We're here to fight, not to chat."
Load. Look. Aim. Fire.

More Kanadian artillery crews and snipers have arrived. The 1st Mountaineer division should arrive soon. It is full of elites, ready to deal with any situation. They fight like demons.

After the Cimmerian government heard about the reactor incident in Cogoria was caused by Scallendovia, they had decided to make an open resolution of war against Scallendovia.

The following:

OFFICIAL DECLARATION OF WAR FROM THE CIMMERIAN GOVERNMENT

To the government and leader of Scallendovia,

After hearing about the attack in Cogoria that you and your government have instigated, the Parliament of Cimmeria therefore declares a state of war against the Federation of Scallendovia for the sake of putting your government under subjugation. We will not stand down with our word until Scallendovia issues an unconditional capitulation with our country, and that a peace treaty be signed, with Cimmeria dictating the terms. Furthermore, we will also demand that reparations be paid for the damages caused by you and your government in the conflict against Cogoria and SAA Kanada. You have lost a great deal of respect from us after pulling out this act of aggression. We will see you after you capitulate.

From,

Prime Minister William Brighton
Head of His Majesty's Government
Kingdom of Cimmeria

As for the Cimmerian delegation, they are due to arrive at Cogoria in: 12 hours.

  • Cogoria, for their involvement in the war, and
  • Scallendovia, for their involvement in the war

The meeting will take place in the capital city of Canterlot, in three days time. All nations are encouraged to attend, however no nation is required to attend.

Attending nations, please send two representatives.

A second message was forwarded.

"Due to recent developments, The Rose League has also been invited."

In a short digital message to the Equestrians, the Syrixians stated their response.

From: Imperial Office of Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs
To: Luna, Princess of the Equestrian Commonwealth, Equestrian Royal Council
Subject: Meeting

We thank you for sending this invitation. Frankly, the Empire has grown tired of the incessant fighting between Cogoria, Cimmerien, and Scallendovia. The Empire has decided that will attend the meeting if the three belligerent nations all agree to attend as well.

Official Statement from Her Majesty, Queen Leah of Guslantis

Belligerents, mediators, and fellow neutral nations:

It is at this time that the Guslant Congress decided to meet and decide how to respond to the war that has continued to escalate after intervention of numerous nations, those who claim to be so-called neutral to this war. We hope that Cogoria will not attend these planned meetings, as it would only cause them to be forced into an agreement by the Phoenix Union, an alliance that has not been so neutral to this war effort.

The Guslant Congress, committed to the wellbeing of all nations, has decided to officially name Cogoria the 12th official province of Guslantis, and asks that the nations of our world officially recognize this change of power. With Cogoria under our rule, we hope that we can see peace talks held within the borders of Guslantis, namely the province of Cogoria, as they have been heavily affected by this war.

The Guslant Congress also has selected Guslant-born Felicia Scott to serve as the provincial governor of the newly instated province, and will serve as a representative to the proposed meeting in Cogoria. We also invite our new province to select its own representative to better serve the province's interests better.

At any point, a bill can be proposed in the Cogorian legislature to officially withdraws its provincial status within Guslantis, and shall this pass, Cogoria will lose its status as an official Guslant province, and all benefits of the Crown. Until that point, the province will recognize the Crown as its head of state, and the Chancellor as its head of government. All local decisions will fall into the hands of the current Cogorian legislature.

Sincerely yours,

Queen Leah

This, well, this is quite embarrassing. To the relief of all nations in the world, the above message from the proposed "Queen Leah" is a fraud. Our bot, Ayuda, decided that he was going to be a fool and announce the annexation of a sovereign nation, something the Queen would never stand for, and make the government of Guslantis look imperialist, something it is clearly not.

The Guslant Congress did not meet today, and surely, they did not announce any annexation of such a scale. Thomas, Ren, and Telogy stand for doing what is right, and annexation is not what is right for Guslantis in its current state.

We apologize for the inconvenience that this has caused, and due to this, Ayuda will be immediately shutting down for maintenance. For the record, all statements from the Queen are written by the lady-in-waiting, not the Queen herself, and the named Felicia Scott is one of our Development Coordinators, to the relief of Cogoria.

We'll continually work with the Ren Industries to fix this mechanical error, and hope that the nations will understand the dangers of Artificial Intelligence.

Thank you for using the GusNet.

A statement issued immediately through every formal channel available, it would be held for only two minutes before going out on every broadcaster in Imperium. Ticker-feeds appeared on internet browsers connected to the August internet, and radio stations buzzed at exactly three AM.

The August Secretariat of Knowledge in Emergent Warfare
The Secretary-General of ASKEW, Dr. Simeon d'Istana

Thirty minutes ago, at 2:28AM, ANEWS began to indicate signs of a major civil power incident in Oktobergrad, Cogoria. In the half hour since, ASKEW has determined that it is appropriate to issue an public recommendation that the nuclear power plant in Oktobergrad has entered a state of catastrophic failure. August citizens in Cogoria and its neighbouring nations are being advised to leave the area, and ASKEW has resolved to make this statement its official warning to all August public servants to exercise their Personal Emergency Readiness Protocols.

Our website offers assistance to all civilians seeking to update their nuclear, and other emergent warfare, contingency plans, as well as those seeking immediate remote-counselling. ASKEW is also utilizing this statement as a formal call to service for reservists attached to August Critical Installations. Finally, ASKEW has decided to invoke its powers to compel the August Straits Authority to impose comprehensive searches of vessels seeking to transit through the August straits until further notice. Such customs searches will include a greatly reduced Wartime Safe Maximal Radiation Level for permitted transit, with vessels failing the Peacetime Safe Maximal Radiation Level (the previous safe maximal radiation level) to be immediately seized and removed from August waters as an August vessel. Vessels operating under the August Straits Extraordinary Authority's Radioactive Shipping Scheme are subject to no additional customs regulations - however, the Scheme will be temporarily suspending new applicants except in government-to-government shipping.

As is protocol for a nuclear incident, ASKEW has recommended that the Senate and the Conclave enter a Joint Sitting, and is empowered to compel such with the Extraordinary Force accorded to it as an instrument of the Augustine Office.

Finally, ASKEW wishes to indicate that the Cogorian 'Crown Conflict' has now entered its purview; and, by extension, that of the Augustine Household, and of Imperium. We thusly expect to see a swift resolution, and the end of Nuclear Warfare in our World.

To this end, Imperium wishes to indicate that the August Consular Office, its representation to the IAN on behalf of it, the Pax Latina, and the Novrith Pact, is at the disposal of the Honourable Offices on the Diplomatic Rig, in order to forge a permanent, lasting resolution to the civil war. We propose that the parties of Princess Rokotov and Chairman Zhukov invite the August Consular Office as a mediator between the two sides, in its position as both a representative of Imperium & the Pax Latina & the Novrith Pact, and of the IAN. From there, resolution of the war with Scallendovia may be discussed.

As the war comes to a close, the Cimmerian delegation finally arrives at Cogoria, where they are to head out to the Lupagrad military base in order to discuss the terms of peace, and hopefully, come with a treaty that will bring peace between the nations of Cimmeria and Cogoria.

The Royal Council has canceled the peace meeting, on the grounds that not enough nations of importance will be attending.

OKTOBERGRAD
At the same time that the Scallendovian message of surrender made its way into Zhukov's hands at the DCR, sirens were wailing around Oktobergrad from the speakers normally reserved for music and public announcements. The siren had only been sounded a few times before, during nuclear attack drills. The population unsure of what was going on, but already nervous following the missile attacks earlier in the month. Making their way quickly to the metro system. Armoured militsiya trucks drove slowly through the streets, blaring instructions for the civilians to only take the bare necessities. The metro however was not equipped to deal with the numbers flocking towards it, police started to advise people to stay indoors wear their respirators and take their potassium iodide. The citizens already well used to obeying instructions passed down from those in authority meekly obeyed. While the citizens went about finding shelter, or evacuating the city, armoured trucks began to pull up to the embassies within the government district, and whisked the embassy occupants out of the city, this was the firs sign that the situation was truly worse than what the brief government announcements described.
Elsewhere in the city, at the Oktobergrad nuclear plant, there was nothing but chaos. Dimitri Federov was in charge of containing the disaster quickly unfolding beneath the ground. He was looking at the schematics for the reactors, trying desperately to figure out a way to save not only the facility but the city itself. He knew to do that however, he was going to have to order people to their deaths. In fact he had already been forced to do it. The Scallendovians had shot out the cameras and the explosion had destroyed nearly all of the sensors in the room, so to simply figure out what the situation they were faced with, someone had to enter the chamber. Opening his clenched fist he stared at the dog tags of the 19 year old boy who now lay beneath a rubber tarp less than a hundred meters away, however he was only the first casualty, already the line of bodies was growing. The boy had managed to describe the heat in the room, the exposed smouldering heart of the reactor, and the slowly rising water levels from the burst pipes. It was unknown where the water in the pipes was coming from, as all the pumps and reservoirs had been isolated.
The current fear was of a steam explosion, but their seemed to be no way to bring down the core temperature. Attempts to do repairs turned out to be death sentences to those being sent inside, as the dossiometres cranked past their limits. The protective suits issued to the teams only extended their lives by a few extra seconds, as the levels within the room went far beyond what any suit could negate.

DCR
Rokotov was preparing to go in front of some hastily set up cameras as Zhukov looked at the report of the Scalledovian surrender, along with their attack on the Oktobergrad reactor. Incensed, he ordered the troops on the Scallendovian Front to continue to advance behind their retreating foes, occupying the lands that the Scallendovians vacated. An Crew officer came up t the table to notify the joint dignitaries of Varus' impending arrival at the rig, signalling for the princess to continue preparing without him he went to wait at the helipad. Seeing the imposing figure of the Princeps-Consul approaching from the now idling helicopter Zhukov went to greet him. "Ah, Priceps, or should I call you Varus for simplicity's sake. You have arrived at an opportune moment. Catherine is about to go before the nation, you may or may not have heard, the Scallendovian dogs asked for peace even as they sought to poison our lands. Well we'll give them peace, but it will be a peace determined by us. But that is a ways off. We have been in discussion with the Ceretisian Tsar, and after reading over your papers we may have found a way to make this work."

LUPAGRAD
The Revolutionary Guards immediately surrounded the Cimmerien delegation and marched them towards a small office building where the peace talks were going to take place. They were watched the whole way by some of the Commissars meeting with the August Troops. "I heard they flew Comrade Wrong back from Ceretis to deal with them. The poor bastards. Won't know their ass from their elbows when he's done with them." His partner could only nod in agreement, the very thought of being sat in front of that friendly old man was truly terrifying.
Wrong sat at the large table, he was alone except for his translator and a bodyguard. He smiled jovially as the delegates from the beaten nation entered. "Greetings. I am Mr. Wrong, of the Cogorian ministry of foreign affairs. I have been given the task of representing my nation in these talks. Please take a seat. Now. The reason we are here is quite obvious to me, and I have already been instructed by my Government on the way I am to approach these talks, so first thing I would like for you all to explain to me is why your nation felt it necessary to declare war on Cogoria and we will go from there." Sitting back he continued to smile as the translator relayed his words.

While we commend your nation on the advances it has made in the field of Artificial Intelligence, we must question the intelligence of your development teams. To allow an AI of that sophistication access to an external network without full control is an inexcusable blunder. A blunder that in this case may have cost lives. Had your AI decided to send such a message to a less stable nation with access to WMDs, the results may well have been catastrophic. As it was our Government had begun to draw up contingencies in the event that the missive had proved to be authentic. We strongly advise that if you are incapable of controlling your own creations, perhaps you should cease to follow that line of research, lest it cause your own destruction.

Varus offered Zhukov a handshake, a genuine smile creeping across his lips. "Chairman, it's my pleasure to meet you, finally. I've been told of the news about the recent...Scallendovian actions. For now, though, I am so happy to hear that Ms. Rokotov and yourself have come to a mutual agreement to work on. I'm looking forward to hear how Imperium - and myself - can help you. We mustn't keep the Princess waiting - I'm sure she would find it comforting to have yourself at her side, and I'm excited to watch what will no doubt be a momentous occasion in person. Is there anything I can do for you?"

Behind him, a Lictor followed closely behind with a briefcase of manila folders and notes. Varus and the female lictor were both dressed in semi-casual wear, not wanting to stand too far out on the DCR. Whilst Varus had recently come to the limelight through his role in the IAN, he was still attuned to his past ability to exercise security through obscurity. At any rate, they did not want to too clearly show off the symbols of the bourgeoisie - where not appropriate.

Lupagrad

The August delegation made their merry with the Cogorian delegation. As they had their fill of conversation and food, the ANVY Libra and ANVY Pisces buzzed with excitement. Margarita Walsius would be responsible for quickly appointing her Speculators little tasks, approportioning the pentacles of 5 to assignments regarding all manner of August and Cogorian interests in the region. With the arrival of Varus to the DCR, a significant amount of intelligence assets had to be assigned to monitoring threats to the Princeps, as one of Imperium's most important officials - not just a ministerial level appointment, but also a member of the Conclave and a crucial connection to Cogoria and Ilamzat. Others still focused on unravelling the social media buzz and intelligence community talk about the Oktobergrad incident. Given Imperium's long-term, committed support of nuclear non-proliferation, the funds available from Imperium's various levels of government for undertaking such work were easily accessed and distributed amongst Margarita's chosen lackeys.

When he asks the Cimmerian delegates why it was necessary, the Minister for Foreign Affairs responds, "Mr. Wrong, the reason for the declaration of war is because of our dislike of communism, and thus wanted to subjugate your nation via a policy of containment. If you don't know, containment involves keeping communism from spreading to other nations by all means necessary. The second reason for this is because we heard that there was a civil war in your nation and we wanted to end it. The third and final reason is because our government really wanted to make a name for itself in the world stage, and make our nation known."

As the helicopter touched down, Mr. Lorge stepped off. He was a tall man, with graying, but still black hair, and blue eyes. He was wearing a jet black suit, with a light blue tie. His staff followed close behind. As he extended his arm for a handshake, the translator started interpreting his Gojan into the Cogorian vernacular. "Hello, Chairman Zhukov. After we were made aware of the recent attack on your nation, the only thing we could offer was humanitarian and financial aid to help your people and reconstruct your cities. Breaking news out of Scallendovia! President Kayus Emmanuel and Vice President Sam Danny have both announced their resignations following a demand from Cogoria for an unconditional surrender to end the war between the two nations. The National Assembly has appointed dual Dorsettian-Scallendovian citizen Christine Brooks, the now former ambassador from Sil Dorsett, as the new Acting President, who will run the government until the next general election at the latest. Ms. Brooks had this to say about the appointment:
Video: Statement from Christine Brooks:
It's unfortunate to see a pair of democratically elected leaders be forced out, but the government faces decisions right now that decide life or death for our citizens. I'm pleased that Mr. Emmanuel and Mr. Danny have chosen to let a new administration with a new perspective on the recent conflict take charge and hopefully bring peace back to the region.
The new government hasn't proposed any timeline for elections to choose a new President, though clearly the new government has ending the war with Cogoria set as its priority.

The Federation of Scallendovia

Mr. Zhukov,

I hereby inform you that Kayus Emmanuel has resigned as President of the Federation of Scallendovia, as well as Vice President Sam Danny. I, Christine Brooks, have been appointed by the National Assembly to be Acting President until such time that peace and national stability have returned, and elections to determine a new President are held.

I have been informed of your demand for the Federation's unconditional surrender to end a war that honestly should have never happened in the first place. I am willing to make concessions favorable to both Cogoria and Kanada, but terms that put citizens at risk of total subjugation are unacceptable. We can decide the final terms of our surrender at your requested meeting at the Lupagrad military base, to which I will attend along with Christopher Lavaud, my new Secretary of Foreign Affairs. We will be in Lupagrad within the next 24 hours.

Sincerely,
Christine Brooks
Acting President of Scallendovia

Sil Dorsett:
A few refugees coming across the border in anticipation of a war was of no concern to Sil Dorsett. There was little worry that there would be enough supplies to take care of a few thousand. Forty thousand, with no estimate of how long the war was going to last, was a massive problem that taxed the resources of aid organizations past the breaking point. There were now more refugees than the population of each the thirteen smallest townships. There was no getting around the problem. A plea to the international community was now a necessity to avoid a humanitarian catastrophe

Claidie's plea:

To the governments of all nations,

The conflict between the governments of Cogoria and Scallendovia has brought pain and suffering to the civilian population, who through no fault of their own must now witness and experience the horrors of war or flee their country to preserve their lives. Over forty thousand have made the painful decision to abandon their homelands in hopes that they shall see peaceful days again.

However, while we have been accomodating to these refugees, the toll on our nation has been immense, and level of care we wish to provide is unsustainable. Not only will the quality of life for our guests begin to fall, but that of our own citizens as well if the conflict drags on for too long.

Therefore, I make this plea to the leaders of all nations and all international aid organizations. The Principality of Sil Dorsett is in need of humanitarian assistance, for the sake of what is right for all humanity regardless of nationality. We will graciously accept any supplies and admit all aid workers willing to sacrifice their time and talents to help those in need.

It is my hope that this war concludes quickly and diplomatically, and that the citizens of all nations impacted by this conflict can return to their homes in peace and know prosperity again.

Sincerely,

The government of the Federal Republic of Panama Coalition, faced with the grave humanitarian situation caused by the war of Cogoria and Scallendovia, can not remain impassive in the face of human suffering. As a neutral, peaceful and respectful nation of human rights and international law, we offer immediate humanitarian aid to refugees in The Principality of Sil Dorsett.

This assistance shall consist of the following:

70 tons of dry food.
30 tons of formula for infants to feed children in refugee camps.
20 tons of medicines
30 tons of clothing.

If accepted, this humanitarian assistance can be deployed and immediately by air way on 3 new aircraft, the C-5P Galaxy transport aircraft, which will of course require prior authorization from The Principality of Sil Dorsett to fly over its airspace, tell us the Airport where they will land and if they deem it prudent, escort fighters once the air convoy approaches its airspace.

If you accept our help, the planes can be loaded and depart in less than 24 hours towards their magnificent nation.

William Rodriguez I
Supreme Federal President
Federal Republic of Panama Coalition

Mr. Rodriguez,

I thank you for your nation's willingness to provide supplies to the Scallendovian refugees. However, thanks to the efforts of nations who contributed earlier, and considering recent developments in the conflict, namely the replacement of the Scallendovian President and a peace treaty in the works, the needs of the refugees have been handled, and we have no further need of supplies.

I recommend contacting the Cogorian government to determine if they are in need of any assistance instead.

Sincerely,

The Kanadian Prime Minister himself came to the Lupagrad military base to see the signing of the peace treaty. When he got off the jet he traveled in, he was flanked by two newly modernized soldiers as a show of how the modernization was going. The Kanadians planned to increase their soldier count from 10,194 soldiers to 45,000 in a few months, and also planned to update the equipment used. The Kanadians had been using gear and weapons from the 1950's, such as steel pressed helmets, bolt action rifles, and other outdated things. They planned to upgrade their soldiers with assault rifles and kevlar helmets.
Prime Minister Johann Leonit walked calmy towards the base, guarded by his soldiers, who were basically flaunting their new gear. One of his advisors looked distastfully at the polluted sky, and turned to the Prime Minister.
"This place is disgusting. They don't seem to care that their enviroment could be related to hell." He told him, coughing into his sleeve. The Prime Minister looked over
"We will not speak about an ally in that tone, or say anything distasteful about how they run their country." He looked around and said quieter, "Especially when we're in a military base full of their soldiers."
The Prime Minister walked into the base to greet Mr. Wrong.

A group of soldiers stationed outside of a Scallendovian villiage were eating their lunches. Life was good, for the fighting had stopped, and they could relax. Not having to worry about getting their heads blown off if they stuck their head above a sand dune. Some were writing letters and some were playing cards. A group of Scallendovian children were down the street playing, and sometimes the villiagers would bring them bread. But there was a slight amount of anger floating around. Drunken soldiers would occasionally loot houses. The soldiers felt like they weren't getting their share. They and their friends had fought. Sure, they were getting paid, but they all wanted more. This anger was floating over homeland Kanada aswell. This might pressure the Prime Minister to be a little greedy, but they deserved it didnt they? Scallendovia had taken their Ambassador prisoner and almost executed him during peace time. There would be no friendship between the two nations for a long time.
