Yes. The Boënnec father-and-son duo play father-and-son characters in this series, yes. Caël plays a resentful son, who is angry that his father remarried. Now he has a stepmother and stepsiblings.
Caël’s role is certainly a negative one, but it’s a relatable one. His character is a good person in other aspects other than his relationship with his father and stepfamily.

| Trivia
- Rivalry/Virality is also meant to promote the sport of Handegg in Saintonge, which lags behind most other team sports in popularity in the country. The production was partially supported by the Fédération saintongeaise de main d'oeuf (FSMO), the national handegg federation. FSMO let the production film in stadiums and areas, and multiple professional handegg players make cameos.
- Because handegg is not that popular in Saintonge, all but one actors who portray the six main characters did not know how to play handegg. Only Caël Boënnec used to play the game, in high school. According to his fellow actors, Boënnec also helped coach them on what to do.
