The World Assembly (WA),
Noting the target resolution, "Action on Period Poverty", carries the noble intent of expanding access to menstrual products, especially for low-income menstruators or those in WA states in a lower level of development;
Aghast that the resolution contains a number of pitfalls and unforced errors that render the resolution ineffective where it matters and creates harm in undue circumstances:
The wording of section a.i is poor, as it remains very ambiguous on when a patient would be "in genuine need";
The wording of sections a.ii, a.iv, and a.v is highly problematic in situations where someone that identifies with one particular gender but that may require menstrual products that are associated with another gender, depending on sapient species, is inadvertently forced to reveal personal information about themselves;
The target's requirement that the provisions of menstrual products be free but not access to the toilet(s) where such products are stocked itself, this defeating the purpose of the entire resolution, especially for some WA states and cities that charge for access to public toilets;
Expressing the opinion that while the intention of the resolution is noble and worthy, there is no clear precedence for the General Assembly to provide such detailed regulations on domestic affairs;
Further expressing the view that with substantial healthcare and welfare benefits already offered by many member states, the regulation of this topic merely partially reiterates other health care and welfare resolutions;
Looking forward to various replacements that are being discussed in this august organ to be implemented in due course, if this organ deems a replacement to be necessary;
Hereby repeals the target resolution, "Action on Period Poverty".
