Injunct Magna Aurea
Category: < Injunction > | Target: Magna Aurea
Proposed by: 12 Walruses, Co-authored by: Westinor | Onsite Topic

This most swag body,

Embodying the watchful guardian of foundling regions across this world, ensuring their safe growth into maturity far from the tendrils of malevolence, hungry to choke out life across the multiverse,

Turning its gaze to the fledgling community of Magna Aurea, a region born in the age of Frontiers centered around the cherished tenets of free speech that stood out as an example of what a youthful, aspiring community can achieve,

Shaken that invading forces have recently swept over Magna Aurea, a saddening cloud forecasting doom to its subjugated nations and bright future, crushing any hopes for its development into a flourishing community on the world stage or as a safe haven for any who might seek refuge from the storms of this world,

Stirred that evil may further rain on the world’s ever-sunny parades through various means, bringing grey skies to the region’s bright future by extending permanent control over the region via the installation of a hostile Governor,

Aglow that, with an Injunction, a shimmering ray of hope may shine upon the future of Magna Aurea, greatly increasing its chances of weathering the storm by preventing such a belligerent takeover,

Positive that the community of Magna Aurea will rebound as a radiant collective, bronzed and struck by the whirlwind of opportunity presented by this council’s measures, and appreciating their support of this proposal,

Hereby Injuncts Magna Aurea.
Note: Only votes from TNP WA nations and NPA personnel will be counted. If you do not meet these requirements, please add (non-WA) or something of that effect to your vote.

Overview
This proposal seeks to injunct the Frontier Region of Magna Aurea, which has fallen. This proposal, if passed, will prevent Magna Aurea from being changed into a Stronghold -- presumably with a raider Governor -- allowing the region to be reclaimed for the native residents.

Recommendation
We find that the resolution's description of the World Assembly as "swag" is false -- the World Assembly is a most solemn body with no place for humour. However, yet another Frontier has fallen, and yet another harmless native community has been displaced. This injunction is one of two tools in the arsenal -- the other of which has already passed -- and is vital to the liberation of Magna Aurea. With this and the now-passed liberation, Magna Aurea will not be able to be claimed as a trophy region, and will be returned into the hands of the native community.

For these reasons, the Ministry of World Assembly Affairs recommends a vote For the Security Council resolution at vote, "Injunct Magna Aurea".

According to the onsite thread, the free speech that the proposal here cherishes included giving free access to fascists like Rusticus. It appears that the natives, after being made aware, will take steps to remove fascist scum, but they didn't notice and take steps themselves prior. This makes the resolution flawed and problematic. As long as the queue is functionally empty (the liberation is ahead and nothing else on track to enter the queue) it's possible for the authors to pull the resolution and resubmit. They could even resubmit an improved version and pull the current one only if the second one enters the queue.
Had the raiders been trying to stuff the queue this would be different, but for now the authors can fix their resolution without any risk. For as long as the authors have that opportunity but aren't using it, I am against the resolution.

It is incorrect to state that this proposal can be withdrawn from the queue and subsequently be resubmitted without risk. If it were resubmitted, another campaign to delegates would be required to enable it to re-enter the queue. This would likely take at least several hours before it could gather the necessary approvals. In the meantime, raiders would have ample opportunity to submit another queue-stuffing proposal and potentially have it enter the queue ahead of this injunction. They have already done this during the current occupation of Magna Aurea with "Condemn the Brotherhood of Malice" (although that proposal was submitted by a disgruntled native and simply opportunistically exploited.)

I did note an option to do it safely:

At any rate, I'm registering my vote against only so long as I believe I can have my cake and eat it too, without increasing the danger to the native community.

Hello everyone! Westinor here, just wanting to report on developments from the sieges that pertain to this proposal.

A few days ago, raiders approached the native government with an offer of a "Peace deal". The raider leads discussed the terms with the region's former Founder, Aura Banitia, and their Consuls (heads of state), RomanAugustus and Cloud Commune. The terms eventually reached were as follows: raiders would "support the growth of" Magna Aurea and allow them to preserve "internal autonomy", in exchange for a "close alliance" following four months during which time raiders will assume the governorship of the region.

These terms were discussed and kept away from the knowledge of everyone, including the natives of the region. When details of the deal reached the ears of the rest of the native government (including Tribune Ovenerium, who has been the native point of contact since the beginning of the liberation due to the absence in presence of the Consuls and Founder until after the invasion), there were protests (screenshots can be shared if necessary), but they were shut down by the Consuls. Defender leaders have since been liasing with the native leadership about the terms of the deal.

Today, the deal broke down. It was discovered that the Founder, Aura Banitia, was attempting to "play both sides", using what appeared to be an alternate Discord account known as "fleetfoxxx" to urge defenders to keep on fighting while moving along the peace deal negotiations in their capacity as founder. Raiders have since refused the terms of the deal and are celebrating the prospect of burning the region to the ground on the RMB..

This update is to ensure that the Injunction is still needed. Raiders are once again aiming to wipe out the region, and the Injunction will stop them from doing so easily by way of transition to a Stronghold. Their only respite now that the Liberation is likely to pass is a password-less refound. Thank you all for your support, be you a member of the North Pacific Army or not!
