AD 88: Two Egyptian obelisks are erected in Benevento in front of the Temple of Isis, in honour of Emperor Domitian.
 
AD 94: The Chinese General Ban Chao completes his conquest of the Tarim Basin by taking Yānqi, which is located on the strategic Silk Road.
 
AD 105: The Trajan Bridge is finished. For more than a thousand years, it is the longest arch bridge in the world to have been built, in terms of both total and span length.
 
AD 121: Cai Lun, a Chinese eunuch court official during the Eastern Han dynasty who was pivotal in the history of paper because of his innovation of adding pulp in the paper-making process, committed suicide after Emperor An assumed power. This was due to Cai Lun's involvement in the death of the emperor's grandmother, Consort Song.
