Hello all,

I must admit I find it kind of odd at times that I’m addressing you again from the seat of the Minister of Foreign Affairs. How wild it seems that scarcely two years ago I was just starting out here in the North Pacific. It reminds me of how far we’ve come and how quickly it’s come too, and for that I cannot be more thankful.

I will be keeping this message necessarily brief. As I mentioned in my original opening address back in May, FA is not really an office meant for measurable goals. We play the game more subtly and while our achievements may be great, they may also not be quantified. With that being said, we will generally keep doing what we’ve been doing: I’ll have the diplomatic corps write reports, we’ll update regions on what we’re doing, we’ll keep in touch with allies and friends and be open to new friends and maybe allies as well. That, at least, is really not for me to say.

Perhaps the biggest point of departure for this term from last term will be the new way I’m approaching the diplomatic corps. We will not have a traditional Ambassador Corps like we have in the past. Instead, I invite any current member of the Foreign Affairs Ministry who wishes to stay on as a member of the Ministry to contact me within 48 hours. In lieu of a traditional roll call, I want to make sure that the Ambassadors in the employ of the region have the minimal skills and knowledge needed to carry out their duties effectively and efficiently.

It is vital to remember that our Ambassadors are supposed to be the representatives of our great region. If they are not carrying out their duties effectively, it speaks to a system that then needs to be changed.

Lastly, I would like to introduce the new team of Deputy Ministers for this term.
  1. @Wymondham will be taking on the new challenge of Executive Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs. For as much as I have been able to do, Wym has been an absolutely invaluable source of knowledge, strategic insight, and wisdom. I would not be the Minister I am (whether that’s good or bad in your opinion :P) without him. The first appointment of his I am going to announce is that Wym will be our Ambassador to Europeia moving forward.
  2. @Treekidistan will continue on as Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs. Treek has been excellent at the margins this term, providing knowledge in areas that are out of either mine or Wym’s expertise, and I certainly look forward to working with someone who has made themselves indispensable when they need to answer the call. I can confirm that, at minimum, Treek will continue as our Ambassador to Forest this term.
  3. @Attempted Socialism will be joining the team as a Deputy Minister. While he is a relative newcomer to the region and to FA, I have no doubt in his skills or his ability to hit the ground running. I hope that through this term, I’ll be working with him to expand his knowledge of the wider game and help him cultivate his own style of playing this game. As a first appointment, Attempted Socialism will be TNP’s Ambassador to Europe.
  4. Lastly, but certainly not least, @Great Robertia will be joining the team as a Deputy Minister. He is also a relative newcomer and my goals with him are the same as they are with Attempted Socialism. He is appointed as Ambassador to The South Pacific.

The other appointments I can release at this time are @Tlomz to the International Democratic Union and @Rewan Demontay to Thaecia, both of whom have been excellent in their work with those regions this term and who I hope will continue their great track record.

To all of my erstwhile staffers, please contact me if you wish to stay on! And to my Deputy Ministers, please take your oaths!

Best,
~~Hulldom
