Balanest: Statement on International Trade

This is a statement of the Ministry of Trade and the Government of Balanest.

With the end in view of streamlining international trade and increasing revenue, the government of Balanest had elected to exercise stricter control over trade into and out of Balanest. All existing trade agreements shall remain in place subject to review by no later than the 31st of December 2019.

The government of Balanest hereby declares that they will encourage firms to sell and buy goods through the Ministry of Trade, who will license current exporters and importers to operate on behalf of them.

Any firms choosing to sell goods directly to overseas customers may do so, but shall forfeit any government subsidy on exports that may be made available and shall pay an export duty of one percent.

Any firms choosing to buy goods directly to overseas customers may also do so, but will be subject to an import duty of 3 1/2 percent in addition to any other taxes or duties on the imported goods.

Owing to treaty obligations as part of membership of the Concord Union, trade to non-members shall be restricted to a total value of €50bn.

This document shall not apply to the provision or consumption of services to overseas.

This document shall come into effect on the 31st of December 2018 at 11:00pm.
