It is a normal morning in SAA Canada. A light snow is falling over the capitol city of SAA Canada. People are doing their daily business. Dr. Jayde is bent over his laptop, filling in spreadsheets of medical expenses. He hears a knock on his office door. He stands up and opens in to find Nurse Ionide on the other side.
"Oh, hi nurse." The docter says with a smile. "What's the problem."
"Hi Leo. We need you down in the emergency room. People have been flooding in since 6 A.M." The nurse responds.
"What's the status?"
"67 alive, 84 dead." The nurse responds with a gulp.
"84 dead! What in the world is happening? I'll be right down."

Little did they know that this was the start of a horrid disease.

Something very distasteful has happened.​
A new disease has been discovered, and it's going around fast. 470 people have died at the time this email is being shipped out.

About this disease... It is been named Spaz-001. It is called this because of it's most common end. This disease is usually going around inside people for about 2-3 weeks before the person collapses onto the floor, having muscle spasms and foaming at the mouth. They will usually die after 3-5 minutes. That is the first possible effect. The other is much better. It will help you clear your mind, it relieves stress quickly, and it gives higher endurance. But that its not common.

Our nation would be incredibly grateful if your nation helped with research of a cure to dwindle this disease. We ask that NOBODY comes within our borders though, as we do not want the disease to spread outside our borders. The borders of our nation are already closed. If you want to email in information and research, please do it over email.

The President of The 2nd Republic of Bohseon shakes hands with the ambassador from SAA Canada, Kaleb Smith, who recently just arrived from the Jewon Airport. "Thanks for exchanging embassies, and welcome to Bohseon." said Junwon Park, in a somewhat casual voice. "Sir? We need to talk." replied Kaleb Smith. Kaleb Smith motions at the Bohseonian Military Police and is escorted to a private meeting room nearby.

"Have you perhaps heard of Spaz-001?"

The Armed Republic of Cogoria while willing to assist in research can do little without permission to send a team to assist on the ground. Also, noting your nation's large border with our own great land, we are reinforcing the border with several motor-rifle divisions. Anything attempting to cross the border will be shot. We regret that we must take such drastic actions, but despite your assurances that the border is closed, the only true way to protect our nation is by relying on our own glorious armed forces. Should you fail to curtail the disease we may be forced to take further preventative actions.

The four corps earmarked for the winter war games were being mustered early, long columns of trucks, tanks and IFVs ploughed along the Cogorian roads towards the border. The border-guard battalions were already laying the groundwork, spools of barbed wire were unwound, thickening the already dense border defences, landmines laid in the days of isolation were brought back online as helicopters made passes along the frontier. With full biological warfare protocols in place, the troops taking up defensive positions stared across at the foreign land through gasmask and rebreather lenses, scrutinising every movement that caught their attention, fingers on the trigger.
 
Cogoria, if you want to support without needing to send in a team, funding would be aprecciated.

As you may know the disease Spaz-001 (also known as Spaz for short)

Bohseon is taking a major stand and is currently playing a key role in preventing the spread of Spaz as well as funding a cure. Our very own scientists at The Bohseonian Colony of Vuenistan are researching a genetic DNA cure that can destroy Spaz.

The 2nd Republic has temporarily closed all borders in all forms including air and seas from SAA Canada in order to combat Spaz. Special Unit Forces are currently arriving in SAA Canada by disposable boat to decontaminate and evacuate citizens in SAA Canada.

We encourage all nations to give aid to SAA Canada and close all borders in goodwill.

Thanks to scientific aid from the 2nd Republic, the cure is about 5% complete at this moment.

But it is going up slow. An estimated 10,500 are dead. People begin to try and illegally cross into Cogoria. They are shot. People are trying to escape by sea. The SAA Canadian Navy is making sure nothing gets into international waters, but some smaller craft have. All we can do is hope they sink, or come back. It may be brutal, but we have no choice. We cannot let the navy outside of our borders limits. Trade has been completely cut off, leaving the economy in shambles. People are beggining to starve.

The province with the least deaths is Gheolad. It is up high in the mountains, and not densely populated.

All this horrible stuff is happening, and it's only 5% over.

Hello, citizens of Bohseon.
Recently, you have noticed the Spaz epidemic on the coasts of SAA Canada. Due to massive exaggerations from the media, citizens in Bohseon have quite spurred a minor panic.
I myself, would like to ensure that this is certainly not something to worry about, as our top scientists and aid workers are diligently working to get this epidemic resolved.
There are no other reported contaminated countries, including ours.
Please remain calm and contribute to the cause.

Bodies lay dead in the streets. There are too many dead too dispose of. As of now, 43,000 have died. The cure is at 8% and slowing. The government has closed school as of now to use the extra money to feed the population. The hospitals are overwhelmed. This is bad.

Very bad.

The World Health Organization has fully and formally classified Spaz-001 as a watch list epidemic and is calling for all nations to be attentive towards the prevention and curing of Spaz-001.

Meanwhile, on the southern part of SAA Canada, a medium sized city has been placed in isolation quarantine, ravaging the city into an organized anarchy. Witnesses within the city say that streets and houses have been flooded with human foam and limbs.

The sudden increase in fatalities further heightened the panic across The 2nd Republic of Bohseon, due to media having a day-to-day update on Spaz, which in turn benefits the media. The Surgeon General of Bohseon calls for immediate action and aid from the citizens of Bohseon, to donate towards funding of the cure, which he apparently told was "working steadily".

That didn't turn out to be so true.
 
People are cluttered together from different clan's, families, and cities into one small place, all using gas masks or some sort of breathing device. The city center of Calgary is cram packed to wait for word from the Prime Minister.
He comes.
The Prime Minister walks up casually and brings the microphone near his mouth. He isn't even wearing a gas mask.
"Hello fellow citizens of SAA Canada! I have come here today to tell you about the troubles we have been having. The government has been silent throughout this epidemic, against my favor. But I hope you can forgive me. I hope you can forgive me for not being here for the country when it was needed most. We are all fighting against each other. "Why?" I ask you. Why do you want to have brothers and sister and cousins fight against each other? If we stand strong, we will make it out of this strong. I ask this big family of a nation to stop your fighting. Stop your bickering, and we can work together to restore what was here before! We just need to band together, and endeavor. Clasp our hands together. As our ansesters have, and stand the test of time forever!"

Out of the 8 major clans in the country, 3 abticated to the government, speeding up the research prossess. It is currently at 13%.

Dr. Jayde is sitting basically motionless at his desk, bending over a microscope, looking at different samples of the disease. One seems different then the others. Slighty more, scrambled.
This is the Spaz-002 and it is slightly more durable to cures. The cure percentage goes down to 12%.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in conjunction with the Ministry of Public Health, has decided to ban all travel to and from SAA Canada due to the recent outbreak of Spaz-001 and 002 that has happened in the country. All Goyaneans who have returned from SAA Canada within the last three months are to submit to a mandatory health examination at your nearest doctor's office or hospital. All SAA Canadian visitors in Goyanes are to check in at the local police station, then proceed to the hospital for a health examination. The status of SAA Canadian visitors will be determined within the next week, as negotiations take place with their government.

1The Royal Council has passed legislation to temporarily ban all travel to and from SAA Canada. Precautions have been taken to ensure that the diseases SPAZ-001 and SPAZ-002 do not make their way into our territory. As such, anybody who has been in SAA Canada within the last six months is to receive a health check from the nearest hospital. 2The Equestrian Commonwealth is offering funding, as well as services from our science labs in Canterlot, to SAA Canada to assist in finding a cure.
 
The family of four were the last through, the young men had gone ahead clearing a path for the others through the razor wire and mines. They did not want to enter Cogoria, but to remain in their village meant a slow agonising death. Leading their small children through the gaps in the wire, the family caught up with the rest of the party, they had come from all over, running from the sickness. Keeping low they crossed the final few meters of the border and ran towards a nearby copse of trees when the sound of a helicopter approaching filled the air, with a new sense of urgency they sprinted covering more and more ground.
As they reached the treeline a spotlight from the hunting aircraft settled on the family spurring them on, faster and clumsier. The helicopter swooped in low and stopped by the treeline, hovering as it dropped of a team of soldiers. For the rest of the night the forest was filled with the sounds of screams and gunfire. By daybreak the bodies were carried out by the faceless gasmasked troops and lined up as they counted their kills. Comparing the bodies to the thermal image taken by the chopper they found something was amiss. The image showed a family of four crossing the border, but among the piled up corpses there was only the body of a single child. "Hound 2 to FarmHouse. The harvest has failed. Border breached."
 
Consul Xaar looked on with worry as more news reports on the Spa epidemics came in. Standing next to him watching the same news reports was the Regime's chief medical officer, Doctor Rondok and behind them was security chief Zagar.

"This...isn't us, is it?" asked Xaar
"It shouldn't be," replied Rondok. "As you know, we have strict bio-security measures in place for anyone who arrives here from the homeworld. Five stage decontamination followed by a short curfew and quarantine before being allowed to join the general population,"
"But what if one of our ships landed elsewhere. Or crashed maybe?"
"We've had no reports of any ships landing elsewhere and all our ships are accounted for," said Zagar confidently.
"OK, is it possible that a ship from another Realm has arrived?"
"Possible yes, but our intelligence reports suggest that this is not the case,"
"Besides, sir," said Rondok, "there is no evidence to suggest that this Spaz outbreak is connected with any pathogens native to the homeworld."
"Still, I want to be absolutely certain, Rondok," said Xaar. "If somehow we are responsible for this, even indirectly, this could have far reaching consequences. And I don't want to have to return to the homeworld to explain to the Imperator why we accidentally wiped out a large proportion of the population of this world,"
"Understood, sir," replied Rondok and he left the office
Xaar turned to Zagar. "Meanwhile, I want confirmation that none of our ships have landed or crashed elsewhere and that no ships from other Realms have arrived here,".
Zagar nodded, turned and left the office. Xaar then continued to watch more reports of the epidemic with the concerns he had in the back of his mind not fully gone.
 
The ITBA (Innovative Technology of Bohseon Association) Lead Scientist walked into the conference room with a not-so-good look on his face. "Sir, we've got good news and bad news".

"Go ahead, pick whatever" sighed the Vice President. "You're also on camera, so don't fool around with your words".

"Good news is that after countless days of pulling off all-nighters, cure is estimated to be around 25-30% done."
"and the bad news is?"
"We found 3 more mutations of Spaz. Spaz-003, Spaz-004, and Spaz-005. Spaz's Mutation Frequency Index is just above the "High Frequency" mark. Also to note, Spaz-004 is the most dangerous one so far, with a possible ability spontaneously combust the victim after the ordinary "spaz". The gore and particles spread after the explosion has lethal acidity and high levels of infection."

The people of Ceretis wish to let your people know they stand with you in this time of struggle and hope for a speedy resolution to the outbreak and suffering in your nation. Hearing the outcry of your people there has been a great outpouring of charitable support for assisting your nation. Furthermore our government has begun to increase measures to assist in resolving this crisis.

Travel to SAA Canada has been suspended since the outbreak, and all those who pose a health risk have been quarantined per Public Health Service (PHS) protocols and are being treated by the Disease Control Directorate (DCD.) Currently there are approximately two dozen suspected SPAZ cases being handled by the DCD and possibly more as we continue to clear the quarantine queue. Those from your nation here on business and other travel purposes after passing screening have been granted emergency assistance and are being cared for as guests of the state until the situation resolves. As well citizens of your nation including students living abroad in our land are being provided with regular updates regarding the situation but know that they are safe and well.

We have received reports of quarantine failure as small boats and rafts of possibly infected individuals flee your nation's waters. Due to close proximity to our territory and the possibility that this disease will spread into surrounding lands we have directed our navy to patrol outside your borders to prevent further breaches. They will conduct searches for any that have already left and will handle them according to DCD and PHS protocols.

Researchers at the DCD, Army Medical Research Institute of Infectious Diseases (AMRIID), and multiple medical research companies have begun researching temporary treatments, cures, and immunizes for these diseases. These efforts are being coordinated by the PHS and they would like to connect their research with yours as soon as possible via video and data link. The DCD, PHS, and Ceretian military would like to establish a few forward bases of operations with the permission of your government. These teams would provide a safe landing point for the charitable donations being offered by our nation as well as any others and currently would include food, medical care, surplus contamination protection gear, containment equipment, and burial supplies. Though we would not be able to relieve all suffering we can at least relieve some suffering. These forward operation teams regularly travel to infectious hot spots around Eras and are known for providing assistance to nations in need. Allowing our medical research staff access to patients would allow for faster research of a cure.

Nationwide charitable aid has begun to be collected and currently stands at 387 million in goods, funds, and supplemental aid, and is continuing to increase. Direct donations from The Royal Estate, Star of Life International Aid, The KRC3 Bishops, religious aid organizations, and numerous other groups are continuing to organize aid packages. Our Catastrophic Emergency Response Agency (CERA) is making available emergency response and refugee support equipment to be used at the forward bases should you allow them, and further inland should that option be made available. CERA has also stated they will assist in connecting your citizens abroad in Ceretis with their loved ones back in SAA Canada.

Streets of cities have become hellish wasteland, covered in corpses. About 56,200 people have died so far. Like schools, public transport has been shut down to afford more money. The cure is at 32% currently, and beginning to speed up as Bohseon invests more money. The government has also evacuated Ft. Sean, the countries 2nd largest city, and is currently disinfecting the town. People will then be cleaned of and put back in the city. This should hopefully slow the spreading in the surrounding area by some.
The SAA Canadian Government wishes to thank all who are helping, so that we can lead the world back to health and safety.
 
December 5th, 202X 6:27 AM

It is early in the morning as Bohseonian Scientists commute their way to the National Laboratory of Medical Sciences. Light showers of snow scatter the building.
Staff member Kim Ui-Seong (???) enters the lobby.
"Feeling a little sick eh?" says the head doctor
Kim Ui-Seong violently coughs
"Take a rest for today Kim, you've worked enough this year"
The head doctor casually walks through the decontamination door and into the lab. Behind him through the glass door, he glances at the staff member who just collapsed.
His heart suddenly races faster. He tries to grab his walkie-talkie, in which was missing from his lab coat pocket.
"DON'T TOUCH HIM" he yells through the glass.
Nobody listens to him.
Dozens of doctors and nurses sprint across the lobby with equipment and start treating the collapsed body.

A blinding explosion of red floods the room.
The body blew up.
Red gore, organs, and stretched bloodied pieces of flesh literally paint the whole room so much that glass windows are nearly opaque with just plain dark red.

"QUARANTINE THE BUILDING" yells the head doctor as he presses the controls in order to airlock the lab as he prepares himself for a long and horrendous self-quarantine.

*30 seconds earlier*
Dozens of cars and trucks flood the National Hospital of new reports of Spaz victims inside Bohseon, the nightmare in Bohseon has officially started.

The Royal family along with advisers in Health, has decided to ban all travel to and from SAA Canada due to the outbreak of Spaz-001 and 002 in your Nation. Since there has yet been any travel between our Nations the status of SAA Canadian visitors in Selvaris is 0 and the status of Selvaris Citizens in your Nation is also 0.

We pray for all of your well-being, and pray for the guidance of your lost.

Leader Alekzander Zarnesti arrives at his modest office at the start of the day, taking a seat in his regular, old, desk chair. He leans backwards, the chair tilting with him. One of his legs crosses the other and he picks up his tanned folder of urgent matters. He lets out a grunt, feeling it's unusually thick. He flips it open and reads the first item, the letter sent by email. As he reads it, scratching at his thick, black beard, he grunts a little. Ringing the bell on his desk, he calls his assistant in and requests that a letter be drafted on his behalf and presented for his signing. In the request, he also asks for a small airdrop to be organised.

A Tupolev Tu-95 Bear passes over SAA airspace after first announcing peaceful intentions and setting it's transponder code to that which represents a support drop. The crates touch down in a field outside the capital. They contain basic medical supplies and diesel fuel for ambulances, along with a sealed letter addressed to the head of state.

SAA Canada's government and people wish to thank all the nations who are helping to fight Spaz.

The dead is at 89,520 with the cure at 38%. The cleansing of Ft. Sean is done. SAA Canada would like to give what hope they have left to Bohseon in so that the disease can be quarentined correctly and they can be spared from his horrific epidemic.

Leo Jayde used to go home everyday to a large warm condo, but now he lives in the lab. He has nothing and nobody to go home to, after his family died. He gets his 1 meal a day from the vending machine, and works from 6 A.M. to 11 P.M. One day at around 5 P.M. he starts to cough violently. Suddenly he feels his mouth filling with foam as tears run down his face. He knows he is dying. He stumbles crying towards the trash shoot, but doesn't make it. He collapses dying ontop of a table, smashing multiple test tubes and containers of materials he didn't have time to read. The foam from his dead mouth mixes with the foam from the mixed materials. One scientist that walked by saw what he fell into and pulled the fire alarm. Scientists and docters filed out of the building, the last one coming out just as the building exploded into fire.
The main labratory in SAA Canada has been destroyed, bringing the cure down to 34%.

The lead scientist of The National Bohseonian Science Association has now been quarantined in a room, which happened to be the main laboratory.

He spent his only time working on the cure, in which if he succeeds, he will gain freedom. His only form of communication is a decent quality PC.

Young children wonder through the streets of large cities, crying for their parents. But their parents are gone. The death count in SAA Canada has swiftly passed 100,000 and is now sitting at around 103,684 deaths. The cure is at 72%, and docters have now produced the first traces of something that can fight back. Having just a tiny drop injected can keep you from dying from the disease for a few days. The bad thing. It's expensive to make, and to buy. The more people flood stores to buy it, the more stores decide to charge. When the government went to make a fixed price, the judge that would make it possible collapsed and died. Still, this is slowing the death count. After about 3 days of it being discovered, the government sends a sample to Bohseon so that they can make their own.

The Royal Council has come to a decision.

In the past several weeks, the diseases SPAZ-001 and SPAZ-002 have run rampant in SAA Canada. Progress is being made towards a cure.

The most recent vote, a motion to provide additional funding for the cure of SPAZ-001 and SPAZ-002, was passed 9-0. The vote was unanimous.

Effective immediately, additional funding will be provided to the nation of SAA Canada to combat the spread of diseases SPAZ-001 and SPAZ-002.

The diseases, SPAZ-001 and SPAZ-002 have infected much of the populus in SAA Canada.
Progress of a cure is coming along thus funding will be provided to the nation of SAA Canada to combat the spread of diseases SPAZ-001 and SPAZ-002 as well as working on a cure.

SPAZ-001 AND SPAZ-002 have spread to Bohseon, and thus we will also provide funding to their government for further advancement of a cure.

Travel is banned from both countries, SAA Canada and Bohseon until further notice.
 
The deaths reach 102,300 or so. The cure is at 78% and going steadily as more nations donate to this struggle.

The first mass grave has been dug about 4 miles south of the capitol. People who volunteer to carry bodies to the trucks, drive the trucks, and carry the bodies to the grave are not paid, and wear gas masks for 8 hours strait. It's extremely exhausting.
 
Foreign Minister Marcus F. Berlamino has asked for condolences from all the victims of the terrible disease and is providing as soon as possible help with medicine and food for the sick and survivors of this tragedy. "It is to ensure our lives - said the minister in his radio and TV address throughout the country -" all flights and transatlantic flights to SSA Canada will be suspended indefinitely "

The dead within SAA Canada has hit 122,450 lives. The cure is at 84% and speeding up as more and more countries involve themselves.

In SAA Canada, celebrations are being held. The public has been informed that the cure is at 96% and the deaths have only risen a few hundred, now at 122,820 dead. Schools and public transportation has begun again. The Queen and Cabinet wishes to thank Bohseon, Xagill, T.E.C., and all the other nations which have provided funding.
