Great Britain and French Republic FLAG CHANGE

Hey guys, I'm thinking of changing the flag of my nation, Great Britain and French Republic, and I'd like for you guys to tell me what you think.

Here's another flag that I'm thinking of:

The second flag would reflect a more 'Royal' attitude, I suppose.

I must say, I do prefer the second flag. Very regal.

I voted for the current flag, but I'm not sure. It looks like the French flag is being constricted by the UK flag. It looks like one flag on top of another (which I suppose it is) instead of just one flag.
This alternate flag is fine, and properly shows what I assume to be equality between England and France. However, as Gradea said, it looks regal, and this can be either good or bad depending on how "regal" your nation actually is. For a republic, I'd say the current flag, picking between these two. But for something closer to a monarchy, the alternate flag would do better.

Since the alternate flag won 5-3, I'll try out the alternate flag for a while and see if it works out.

Bit funny since my country is classified as 'Democratic Socialists', so I wouldn't really associated royalism with it.

Ok it's creating all sorts of problems and I've realised it doesn't exactly fit my nation, so for a compromise....

I love it. I really love it. It combines the two flags well to make a third new, futuristic, and distinct flag.
