The Security Council has nominated McMasterdonia for a seat on the Security Council. The vote for his admission was unanimous, with 7 ayes.

The Chair now presents this to the Regional Assembly for discussion.

Honestly, I think I'm just going to make a habit of voting no to SC applications.

But McM on the SC is obviously a good idea. :lion:

SillyString:
boo hiss. untrustworthy! dangerous! unpredictable!

rah rah rabble rabble.
I have to agree with the angry clump of string. Who knows what will happen with this Lion. Felines can't be trusted. He might eat all the other Councillors.

I absolutely approve of McM rejoining the Security Council. After the vote, I'm gonna get him and a bunch of other Aussie drongos, get a stomach full of piss, walk down to Macca's and we'll show everyone our didgeridoos.

I will vote against this application. Not because of any issue with McM's qualifications or trustworthiness, but because he vacated his seat on the Council just a few months ago. I'm probably the only one who sees that as a bad thing, but oh well.

I'm obviously in support of me rejoining the SC.

McM, will we take bribes for plum seats and pay inflated public money for services. We can call it TNP Inc!

[b/c I don't want to get sued the above post in totally in jest and part of a gag]

I apologise for my late responses - returning from a foreign land is time consuming.
Lord Lore:
McMasterdonia, if you had to assassinate one of the other members of the Security Councillors to protect the sovereignty of The North Pacific. Which one would you choose?

I would choose Eluvatar, because I know he would forgive me and understand.

Eluvatar:
What is a valid reason for the Regional Assembly to remove someone from the Security Council and why?

I think that is up to the regional assembly.

I think the RA should not be afraid to exercise a stronger authority in this regard. I think it is disappointing when SC members stay on the body for a very long time, with very low endorsements. The RA should consider removing people who do not meet a sufficient level of endorsements as reflected in the current state of affairs in the region. Of course this is subjective, and people could argue for and against such a motion.

The RA should remove an SC member who unduly uses their office to threaten citizens or nations in TNP, or to apply undue pressure. Similarly, the RA should remove SC members who act against the legitimate delegate or Vice Delegate, or who act against a council vote on a given matter.

Sounds like a fun night. I'm down.

At the time I was removed, I had been 'suspended' from the Security Council for some months as I served as the Minister of Defence and led operations at the direction of the Delegate. Ideally, I would have resigned however I was unsure if suspension was an indefinite thing or not. Safe to say that when I was removed, I had not participated in the SC for a fair bit longer than that and my activity was taken up by traveling and exam commitments that has since subsided - which resulted in the loss of citizenship etc.

My endorsement level currently is also a fair bit higher than other members, and I hope to increase it further now that I have more time to tart. Hope that alleviates some concerns. If not, then I hope to prove with my activity and endorsement level that I'll return to being a valuable member of the Security Council.

There won't be a need to take bribes, as we will simply play good cop/bad cop to get what we want!
