The commander tapped an interface on his wrist control. The drone squadrons regrouped and flew low overhead.
"I am the commander of all Galactan forces on this planet. We are neutral in your civil war, but any intentional attack on Galactans or Galactan property will be met with the full force of our military in this sector. We have the forces available to wipe out both you and the Royalists; however, we wish for both sides to avoid further conflict on our ground."
Kelram opened his palms. Balls of fire appeared in the sky.
"I have the power to strike you from history. Who says I can't do it now?"
"In doing so you condemn your Convocation to defeat and yourself to trial by fire."
"And in doing so, I guarantee the safety of my soldiers. May I ask why you have Royalist spies?"
Kelram teleported Xi and Zeta to his location, choking them with an invisible hand. Xi tried to shoot Kelram before his pistol was crushed by a telekinetic force.
The commander made a split-second decision. "You are mistaken- those are my troops. Maybe they're Royalist supporters, maybe they're insubordinate and followed me out here. I don't know. I humbly request that they be turned over to me for the appropriate inquiries and punishment."
Inside his boot, he tapped out a sequence on the keypad located by his toes. There were only a few sequences for this pad: one that would call for observation by all forces within range (this was the one he typed); one that would call for immediate reinforcements; and the "suicide code", which would send out a signal calling for an airstrike on his position.
He fervently hoped the suicide code would not be necessary.
Kelram choked them harder until their necks were snapped. They fell to the ground, seemingly dead.
"I admire your sense of comradery. Truly I do, but these Agents....Xi and Zeta I believe, the new generation commanders of the Seraphim? They have no place in this world, or the next."
As Kelram was about to send the fireballs to the ground, the necks of Xi and Zeta snapped themselves back into place. Xi hopped up and slugged Kelram across the face, causing the massive fireballs to dissipate as he lost his concentration. Kelram stood back up and hit Xi hard enough to embed him into a wall, before being shot in the back by Zeta, rendering him unconscious. Xi tried pulling himself out but failed.
"I actually felt that one."
Zeta pulled him out. Zeta placed a containment field over Kelram. The Convocatjon soldiers tried firing back, but couldn't have time as Xi and Zeta dispatched them all in a frighteningly short time.
Xi spoke into his helmet's microphone.
"Commander, we have Agent Sigma with us. Shall we take him back?"
There was a short pause.
"Hm. Right, the ship won't function then. And the Convocation know we are here at their front door, so we can't capture a new A.I to reprogram. Yes sir. Bringing Sigma back."
Zeta looked down at Kelram.
"Why'd you have to betray Kèlmythràn?"
Zeta looked at the commander.
"Thank you for at least trying. I prefer peace over war."
