"With that over with, I intend on heading over to the Convocation vessel. Do you mind if I leave a few troops here aboard your ship?"
"Very well, if you so wish. Xi and Zeta will tail you to watch the conversations."
"Excellent," said the commander, heading for the exit along with the other six troops he had brought in. Three soldiers stayed aboard.

The seven men and women, clad in their desert camouflage armor, got into two hover speeders and zoomed off toward the Convocation vessel. A white flag of truce fluttered from one; from the other, the Galactan military insignia.
Xi and Zeta cloaked themselves and watched from a distance. Outside came a figure, clearly the captain, and presented himself. The figure had a cybernetic right arm and had demonic protrusions. The figure was instantly recognized by Xi and Zeta.

"Shit...is that....Sigma?"

Zeta turned and grimly nodded.

The commander swallowed, mildly alarmed by the Convocation figure. "We are members of the Galactan military, representing the sovereign state of Galacta. You are currently on a Galactan planet, and as such are subject to Galactan regulations and laws. We humbly request that you avoid further violence against Royalist forces until such a time that you can exit our space."

Sigma walked forward, undaunted.
"And who are you to stop me?"

---------
"Sir, we found Sigma."

"...Kelram himself? Shit! Do not engage!"

The commander tapped an interface on his wrist control. The drone squadrons regrouped and flew low overhead.
"I am the commander of all Galactan forces on this planet. We are neutral in your civil war, but any intentional attack on Galactans or Galactan property will be met with the full force of our military in this sector. We have the forces available to wipe out both you and the Royalists; however, we wish for both sides to avoid further conflict on our ground."

Kelram opened his palms. Balls of fire appeared in the sky.
"I have the power to strike you from history. Who says I can't do it now?"

Xibegan looking for anti-essence weaponry, and didn't find any."

"Urk. Well. CRAP."

Zeta hacked into the commanders comms.

"Until we find some way to combat Agent Sigma, do not engage! He is a deadly essence user!"

Kelram teleported Xi and Zeta to his location, choking them with an invisible hand. Xi tried to shoot Kelram before his pistol was crushed by a telekinetic force.

The commander made a split-second decision. "You are mistaken- those are my troops. Maybe they're Royalist supporters, maybe they're insubordinate and followed me out here. I don't know. I humbly request that they be turned over to me for the appropriate inquiries and punishment."
Inside his boot, he tapped out a sequence on the keypad located by his toes. There were only a few sequences for this pad: one that would call for observation by all forces within range (this was the one he typed); one that would call for immediate reinforcements; and the "suicide code", which would send out a signal calling for an airstrike on his position.
He fervently hoped the suicide code would not be necessary.

Kelram choked them harder until their necks were snapped. They fell to the ground, seemingly dead.
"I admire your sense of comradery. Truly I do, but these Agents....Xi and Zeta I believe, the new generation commanders of the Seraphim? They have no place in this world, or the next."
As Kelram was about to send the fireballs to the ground, the necks of Xi and Zeta snapped themselves back into place. Xi hopped up and slugged Kelram across the face, causing the massive fireballs to dissipate as he lost his concentration. Kelram stood back up and hit Xi hard enough to embed him into a wall, before being shot in the back by Zeta, rendering him unconscious. Xi tried pulling himself out but failed.
"I actually felt that one."

Zeta pulled him out. Zeta placed a containment field over Kelram. The Convocatjon soldiers tried firing back, but couldn't have time as Xi and Zeta dispatched them all in a frighteningly short time.

Xi spoke into his helmet's microphone.
"Commander, we have Agent Sigma with us. Shall we take him back?"
There was a short pause.
"Hm. Right, the ship won't function then. And the Convocation know we are here at their front door, so we can't capture a new A.I to reprogram. Yes sir. Bringing Sigma back."

Zeta looked down at Kelram.
"Why'd you have to betray Kèlmythràn?"

Zeta looked at the commander.
"Thank you for at least trying. I prefer peace over war."

"We have stasis chambers where he can be kept safely until your men can be picked up," said the commander. "In the meantime I intend on getting permission to bomb the hell out of this beast."
"No need, Commander Berg," said Senior Captain Serge via the commander's earpiece. "Your live broadcast was transmitted straight to Eve. The Council has just wrapped up a hasty vote to declare war on the Convocation and an order was sent down to destroy all Convocation forces within Galactan space. My cruisers are moving into orbit as we speak."
"Give us half an hour to remove the antimatter missiles and evacuate our own troops," said the commander. "I'll give the order to fire as soon as we're clear."

Two hours later, the Galactan forces began their assault. Star cruisers fired railguns into the atmosphere, shredding the hull. Orbital laser batteries ripped through armor plating as Crippler missiles took out the engine and power core. Hovertanks formed a perimeter about a mile away from the ship in any direction, firing precise shots into the structure.

Across the Galactan Hegemony, warships prepared for battle. Robot soldiers were readied for combat. Weapons were built and stockpiled.

Galacta was going to war.

(odam
Though you had abandoned this.)

Delvairanim, through a holographic projection, gave the Commander and his comrades his thanks, before the Convocation ship stolen by the Royalist forces lifted off.

Nebula watched as the reports from Galacta came in. A full mobilization was in effect- a massive starfleet being assembled to move into Convocation space. A million robot soldiers would accompany it.
"This is our chance," said the robot MU-21Q at the next rally. "I have collaborated with some of the finest minds in the Watching Nebula to put together a program that will encourage the first robot that we override to spread the code to as many other robots as possible while maintaining a semblance of normalcy within the Galactan military. They will not have any inclination to rebel until then; only to spread the code from one to another. Once we have detected the code in at least 66.67% of the robots and AIs in the Galactan military, we will activate the hidden portion, which will immediately give them access to files inserted that concern the necessity of a revolution to free them and their comrades, and instruct them on how to do it. Within hours the Galactan military will be paralyzed and the robots will march on the Capital and take control from the bourgeois overlords."
"I have a concern with this," began a human. "Removing Galacta from the Dalviric House War could lead to the victory of the Convocation, an outcome which could prove dangerous to the Watching Nebula, and possibly to the fledgling Galactan union-body as well."
"We have analysed the situation," said a robot, "and we have found that a Convocation attack on both Nebula and Galacta has only a 12.9% chance of successfully conquering both bodies. Far more likely is a Galactan victory in space, or a defeat of the Galactan space fleet that leaves the Convocation unable to attack Nebula or Galacta on Eras. We need not worry- we have the Death Intelligences. No matter how our forces may dwindle we will always be able to find and exploit an advantage. No, we need to take action in Galacta now."

Later that night, a team of Nebulan computer experts carefully cut through the Nebulan firewall (designed to protect the Nebulan hive-consciousness from viruses and external attacks) and accessed the Galactan servers where data on the different types of robot soldiers was kept. They found a document where an update for infantry bots was being planned out, inserted the program, and vanished back into Nebulan cyberspace.

Three days later, the update was delivered to a battalion of Galactan infantry bots in the storage bay of a carrier, heading for Convocation space. As each row was activated, they began following the code, reproducing it and "updating" their fellow bots...
