Bootsie for Vice Delegate Platform
January 2016
Introduction
Welcome to my campaign platform for the January General Elections. I am Bootsie, and I have been a citizen of TNP for two years now. In September, I ran for Delegate, and did pretty well, considering I was standing up to one of my former colleagues and now incumbent, SillyString. This winter, however, I will not be standing for the highest position in the region, but rather, for the office of Vice Delegate.
Bootsie, what do you know about being Vice Delegate?
The Vice Delegate is in charge of protecting the region at all costs, and it is his/her duty to use their power in accepting and rejecting citizenship applications through security checks, and by utilizing the Security Council, to make sure TNP stays under control of the elected Delegate. It is crucial for the VD to stay on top of all of their duties, and should be both timely and efficient. The Vice Delegate can also help with executive decisions, and I believe if I am elected, if the person chosen as your Delegate needs my assistance, I will gladly give advice and suggestions.
What do you know about endorsement gathering and the WADP?
Endorsement gathering, commonly referred to as its slang word, "endotarting", is the process by which nations exchange endorsements, and through endorsements and time, gather influence. It is highly important for the Security Council to be gathering as much influence as they can, without breaking the "soft" cap in place that is the Vice Delegate endorsement count. I believe everyone in The North Pacific should actively try to get influence, and create an influence blanket, making a coup of the region nearly impossible, as the rogue delegate would have to choose how to burn his/her influence, and would waste time only to find everyone would cost a bunch of influence to banject. I, between missions of the North Pacific Army, have endotarted. Both times I reached around 300, I was asked to participate in the liberation of Lazarus as a coalition member in the Lazarus Liberation Army, and again, was called to resign for the liberation of The West Pacific. I will, if elected, take leave from the NPA and devote myself to the security of our region. In regards to the World Assembly Development Program, I will continue to encourage members to share endorsements and get influence, as long as they stay under the soft endocap. More influence in the natives results in a safer region.
You are not a member of the Security Council, how do you think you could possibly chair an organization you've never been a part of?
I do not think that is necessarily the best question to ask. If someone can do the job well, it doesn't matter if or if not they previously held the position. The chairing of the Security Council is similar to that of a Speaker or Deputy Speaker, both positions that I held. During my terms, I successfully opened, counted, and closed votes with the citizens, and got to know quite quickly what citizens liked and did not like about my leadership and what I put forward as Speaker, and hope to be given the chance to chair the Security Council and the votes that take place to admit members and to amend the procedure. I wish to work with them, and make sure that matters related to regional security are taken care of the way they should be -- with swiftness and with integrity. I will get the work done and I will not disappoint.
Which WA Delegate gets your endorsement?
Some may not like the answer I am about to give. Every citizen has the right to choose who they vote for, and I believe that the two positions are different enough that my endorsement should not be the reason you do vote for a candidate or do not vote for a candidate. The Delegate holds power both within our forum, and in-game. Pick the candidate that you believe will represent what The North Pacific, and in turn, you in all matters of the state, and you won’t need to worry about who I will be working with. I’m a friendly person, and will work well with the elected Delegate if I myself am elected.
What about your activity, will we have an issue with that?
Not this term! My little laptop is up-to-date and running like a charm, since it was my biggest factor of inactivity during my Speaker and Minister terms. I am really sorry I have poorly served my home region in the past and promise that I will be constantly checking the citizenship applications for new checks and making sure that all applicants go through a check, and are not just admitted because I failed to do my job. After all, security is crucial, and being on-time is a key element to this oh-so-important position.
How can I get my questions answered?
As always, #bootsie is available for you to ask me questions, or by PM on the forum, or query my bouncer, Bootsie, and I should respond promptly. I will also try to post all of the questions that I am asked here in the OP, so that if someone asks your question, you do not have to go out of your way just to get the answer again. Please, ask away, I know that you probably have a bunch of questions, and I would like to answer them all!
Conclusion
In short, I want to serve TNP in a way that is both honest and swift in action. We are a large region, but we are also a community, and both must be protected at all costs. We need to be ready at any point for those who oppose us to strike, and that is through the entire process, accepting citizenship applications, endotarting, and maintaining the Security Council. I have got big shoes to fill, but I am ready to step in and get my feet wet. If you are with me, I kindly ask that you grab either the sakura or cherry blossom leaf with the B logo, or the cute little guinea pig (which I have nicknamed Harper) logo, and add my name to your ballot in this January.
