I think we can still use Siren City as the merge point between main TNP and fantasy TNP, thus allowing for those who want to crossover characters to do so, but it would't be a publicly known thing.Vazos:Modern setting for me. I like what I had in mind with the Unseelie Accords thread and want to pursue it further. I do like what mj has done with The Secret City, though, and would love to see those two things merge somehow.
Around that time though. There's something so fitting about the early 20th century that makes magic work well in that setting.Nierr:...
Age of steam was over by like... 1914.
Sounds good.Nierr:I think we can still use Siren City as the merge point between main TNP and fantasy TNP, thus allowing for those who want to crossover characters to do so, but it would't be a publicly known thing.Vazos:Modern setting for me. So should we get the ball rolling? Perhaps a TNP Fantasy Map Claims Thread presided over by the Cartography Team? We could make a political map similar to the main political map; based off the current physical map as the main one was based off its own physical one.Nierr:So it seems like we're going for a new fantasy map for this, which is cool and stuff. I'd like to propose an alternative to Syrixia's map, and that is this.
Is there a reason why I can't find the full map? Is one you made Syrix, or did Madjack post it somewhere and I'm just blind?Syrixia:If I may ask, would this be too much or is it OK? I'm building Valdoria as a wealthy, militaristic, and Klingon-like dwarven empire of mountains, whose primary exports are valuable gems and treasures, and whose cities are carved into the mountains instead of built up. Most of the area this claim covers is mountains you drew into the map. From what I can see, Valdoria is, in comparison, only slightly bigger than Sadakoyama is in the main world.
Oh, and the Valdorians like whiskey too.
EDIT: And yes, I know the claims thread isn't up yet. I wanted to hear people's opinions before I sent in my final claim.
^This. Check the posts above.Yeraennus:or did Madjack post it somewhere and I'm just blind?

This is the post where MJ linked his new map.Nierr:So it seems like we're going for a new fantasy map for this, which is cool and stuff. I'd like to propose an alternative to Syrixia's map, and that is this.
I'd also like to point out a potentially alternative route to us each just rping our nations 'but with magic and ting' (or we could do it alongside our own nations) and that's by having some or even just a few pre-set nations on the map. For example, the map I've linked already has a claim on it, which in my imagining is the remnants of a former human Empire that held much of the three landmasses it currently has land on, but gradually declined. It is violently xenophobic against other species, which leads to frequent clashes to a nation of dwarves which dwells in the mountain range the Remnant holds part of.
Just an idea, and obviously I'm welcome to feedback and suggestions.
Has anyone ever told you that you're a wonderful person? I really suck at noticing things sometimes.Myroria:This is the post where MJ linked his new map.Nierr:So it seems like we're going for a new fantasy map for this, which is cool and stuff. I would like to notify potential FanT RPers of my intent to claim the north-easternmost small island as the territory of the Mycorrhizal Union. It is my understanding from discussions with madjack that that area could conceivably be a temperate rainforest, which is the direction I would like to head with that nation.
I refuse to restrain my equine mammals, good sirrah!Nierr:Woah, hold your horses people. This is not a claim topic!
A claims thread will be going soon-ish. I still need to do a few things with the map. Yeraennus I will say that you won't be able to claim those islands as they've already been requested.
We'll work something out when the topic is up, but first everyone needs to be patient and sort out some of the outstanding issues in this topic. A re-read of the topic would do everyone some good.
Eluvatar did some magic and permanently set her profile pic to the hamster thing, and that's what ZB registers as her profile pic. It takes a few seconds for ZB to pick up the JavaScript and change it.Yeraennus:Oh. Hmm. I want islands, but all the good ones are taken and I don't want to isolate myself from civilization further.
Edit: Also may I ask why your avatar flashes a picture of a hamster before going into its normal gif?
Not quite. Eluvatar set my avatar to be the stringy one in the admin control panel, since it's too large for me to upload my own (15 kb maximum). My background uploaded avatar is still the lemming, so if you're looking at it without a stored cache, often your computer/phone will pick up the lemming first before the string one kicks in.Bootsie:Eluvatar did some magic and permanently set her profile pic to the hamster thing, and that's what ZB registers as her profile pic. No one was kicking you out of those islands, Wolf. You can have them if you want. I was just commenting on the apparent lack of available islands.Wolfsea:Well can I have the crescent mountain and the darker green surrounding area on the south-east continent then? give me a Mordor vibe
