They literally asked for it. The whole thing was temporary anyway, under the original agreement Rhuvanland was to be let go when its economy got back on its feet. Thanks to Nebs, that had to wait a bit.

But back on topic. What do you guys think about a 600,000-man Syrixian military?
 
Hopefully the last and final time that I mess with my nation's military statistics.

Federation of Kalti (Ordu Oileain)
Military: 100,000
Air Force: 87,500
Navy: 87,500

Total: 275,000

Free State of Tir na Andalucia (Whakahau Te Maunga)
Military: 60,000
Air Force: 40,000
Navy: 40,000

Total: 140,000

Free State of Callaici (Marmore Mandatum)
Military: 80,000
Air Force: 65,000
Navy: 65,000

Total: 210,000

Reserves
75,000 ... 25,000 per country

Guardians (Police)
50,000 split between the Castelli, the Free State and the Confederation

In total, I have 625,000 personnel in my military with an additional 75,000 in reserve which brings the total active troop level to 700,000. There are 50,000 police forces spread across three divisions (Castelli, Free State and Confederation). In each case with the military, the number of personnel never exceeds 0.5% of the total population (55 million for Kalti, 28 million for Andalucia and 42 million for Callaici) of the respective country and altogether my military constitutes 0.55% of the Confederation's total population of 125 million.

As such, we view a military force of 400,000 personnel a considerable defense size for a population of ~80 million (I slightly rounded up your population) as a military that size would constitute 0.5% of your nation's population. We would be willing to settle at either 500,000 personnel (0.625% of your nation's population) or 600,000 personnel (0.75% of your nation's population). 500,000 personnel will get no opposition from the Confederation but at 600,000 personnel, the Confederation will only be in favor if the majority of other nation's are as well.

I'm going for 600,000. Apparently that was enough to impress Bootsie; he edited his vote to Aye earlier today. Around 6/9, or two thirds, of the total voters are in favor, with two nays and one abstention.
 
While we still view 600,000 as slightly excessive, the Confederation will give their consent if it is the will of the majority.

I don't think any nation need 100 nuclear weapons and I applaud Bootsie for pushing for tougher sanctions. It is unrealistic and silly to allow a nation to have that many in our RP world. You cannot use that many anyway, unless you wish to destroy the entire world. The appropriate action would be to sanction those nations for doing so.

I do think though that Syrixia has a fairpoint about Kalti having 250,000 troops per territory, even that sounds excessive given the total size and land mass of the nation, but it is at least a bit more workable. 1 million troops is /massive/.

It's also pretty clear that New Sekai's numbers are totally unrealistic.

I also think that Myroria makes a good point. Why would you need 100 nukes and 1 million troops for an RP purpose? How does that improve things for you? Again, we do not allow nations to simply declare they are the strongest in the world and that is the end of it. Nations who intend to fight wars all the time would have to negotiate how these wars will end in advance, and sometimes they would likely need to lose, in order to keep it fun and interesting.

Ok I will change the numbers of The United States of New Sekai military.

The United States of New Sekai Armed Forces:
  • Active Military Personals: 812,500.
  • Active Paramilitary Personals: 812,500.
  • Total Active personals:1,625,000.
  • Reserve Military Personals: 812,500.
  • Reserve Paramilitary personals: 812,500.
  • Total Reserve personals:1,625,000.
  • Total personals:3,250,000.

The United States of New Sekai Weapons of Mass Destruction:
  • Current stockpile: Current stockpile: 800 total.

(I hope this is now realistic?)

I keep the rest as the same due The United States of New Sekai's history.
 
I still think that is very excessive, unless you are going to RP all of the issues that would come with having such a military dominated society. Think North Korea on steroids :P
