And yet the Helmebaine and Faibuaizu Alliance's are fulfilling their purposes? One let a region wide war start and the other looked the other way and did nothing to stop it.

The Helmebaine Alliance didn't throw in the whole roster because you and the other sit-on-your-hands folk didn't jump in when the oath required you to. I'd say the Helmebaine otherwise is a success; Cronaal and Rhuvanland have both been liberated and pacified. For God's sake, Kalt, Helmebaine is a military alliance -- if we don't fight when we need to, what the hell are we? Just a bunch of pansies who promise they'll help their allies, but don't.

I do think we should expand and reform the DU. The NPTO was supposed to be a NATO, but it has gone too far, and the Faibuaizu and Helmebaine have filled the purpose I envisioned for the NPTO. The DU should be expanded, I agree, but as for the NPTO, I believe it has failed its intended purpose and has gone too far. I think it should be abolished, and its non-DU members offered membership in the DU.

I also think we should rename the DU. It implies a democracies-only rule is enforced in the organization. I propose we rename it to either the World Assembly or the Union of Nations.

Let me stop you there. NPTO was never supposed to even rival the DU. I messaged four members, including you, about creating an entente, similar to that of the G8. I even called what would further become NPTO as "Entente of Five" or "E5". You specifically came to me with the name and flag, and told me you'd even write the OP. It sounded like a pretty good name for the organization, so I chose it. For someone so concerned about it from the beginning, you seem to be very anti-NPTO.

I'll say it once, and I'll say it again. I'm not joining the Democratic Union. I don't believe it is an organization for my country, and I will not have Guslantis in its roster. Never.

Then maybe that's my fault. We need to find the 5 original invitees, make them all members, and remove everyone else. We'll call it the G5.

The Helmebaine Alliance didn't throw in the whole roster because you and the other sit-on-your-hands folk didn't jump in when the oath required you to. I'd say the Helmebaine otherwise is a success; Cronaal and Rhuvanland have both been liberated and pacified. Did you read the answer I gave you in the communique thread. The reason the Confederation did not intervene on the world stage is that the overwhelming majority of citizens of Andalucia and Callaici voted no towards a foreign war that would give nothing positive back to them. The members of the Forum (d'Entesa and de la Saviesa) cannot act against the will of the people they represent (be they from Kalti, Andalucia or Callaici)... It would greatly disrupt the solidarity that the Confederation is built upon. Furthermore, while Kalti (both the citizens and the representatives) were for helping the Helmebaine their hands were tied by the bonds that form the basis of cooperation for my nation.

Not condemning -- not even lifting a finger to a nation that so blatantly and openly invades and lands troops in another nation, places missiles to threaten to a nation's sovereignty, splits an occupied nation into two for the sake of establishing a dictatorial regime... That's beyond dumb, that's plain stupid. Good for you guys who don't have to worry about anything; we just here ensuring there's still such concepts as freedom and national sovereignty, don't mean to rain on your appeasement party. And yet my communique condemned not only Syrixian and Kannexian actions, it also focused on Nebula to a small degree. While it is true that my original statement focuses more on Syrixia, I am in the process of writing up a following statement (that I state I'm doing at the end of my message) that will focus more on Nebula.
 
Avoiding conflict and appeasement are very different.

If Nebula decided to invade us we would fight them off. We are not "bowing to their will."

The fact you condemn our actions is :facepalm: . What's our sin? Defending a country from blatant violation of national sovereignty multiple times? Defending our security in the Syrixian Strait? Helping to topple the North Cronaali despots and reunifying Cronaal?

Did I condemn you? No... Did I mention you in the context of a condemnation of another? Yes...

Two very different things. While I am still uncertain of how I feel about your actions I can neither commend or condemn what you did in helping out a fellow nation. However, Syrixia did mention that they wished to utilize the NPTO Peacekeeping Forces for peace and instead of prompting them to follow that line of thinking you helped them with more war.

Edit: My nation is at this point probably some hippie tree-hugging bastardization combo of Switzerland and Sweden.

The good thing about the DU is, as far as I know, it doesn't have a Security Council. The bad thing is, it's inactive and it's only open to democracies. Where's the fun in that? Absolutely no drama.
