ARCHIVED: Riots in Ryccia

OOC: Wow wow wow, hold on Syrixia. If the Progressive Front dared to march forward to the capital, they would be killed! The capital is at the center of Ryccia, and very well defended. Plus, they can't even march to Kylosteia! They are way too far south! Syrixia, edit your posts or else. That is godmod!

IC:
Although the Worker's Army fought fiercely with Nebulan troops against the Ryccian Government, they eventually lost. About 100 militiants were killed, but 7,000 Ryccian troops were killed. The Battle of Kylosteia resulted in victory for the CNP, but at a dangerous cost. A Pyrriac Victory.

Meanwhile, the Progressive Front began to expand, with help from Syrixian Army. They expanded quickly, and they aimed to go to Daonlathas.

OOC: Map will into updatings soon.

(OOC: Well you coulda told me it was well-defended. I thought the government army was in tatters. Post edited.)

Nebulan aircraft streaked toward Daonlathas. About 10 miles south of the edge of the suburbs, paratroopers were dropped into forested areas, along with supplies with which to wage urban warfare.

Daonlathas

Anti-air defenses in the city costed Nebula a lot of its paratroopers(Daonlathas has the most anti-aircraft defense). Their landing site was noticed. Troops surrounded the site, calling for the Nebulan troops to surrender. Daonlathas was surely a well-defended city, and it could deal with a Nebulan offensive like this.

Unfortunately, Daonlanthas had two groups of assailants. The Progressive Front, with significant Syrixian backing, snuck into Daonlanthas from nearly all angles, seizing control of banks and neighborhoods as they went further into the city. Meanwhile, Progressive Front air forces began engaging the Workers' Army in the skies...

As Daonlanthas is abandoned by the Ryccian government, the Progressives take over the government buildings and proclaim a new Republic of Ryccia. Battles between the Republic and the Workers' Army continue in the skies as Republic ground forces prepare and gear up for a march to Castiana.

The Ryccian Government has managed to repell TPF and Worker's Army advances in some areas. Yet in others, they keep further on.

...This just in! TPF forces have occupied Democratia Palace, Ryccia's Parliament Building. The two militiant groups are fighting against each other, making it easier for the Ryccian Government to repell them out of the city.

The Republic of Ryccia would like to offer a temporary truce to the WA so we can neutralize the corrupt CNP before all else.
Republic forces begin the march to Castiana, to neutralize the CNP once and for all. However this was merely a distraction, as Republic planes begin bombarding the city and other regiments secure Daonlanthas, as with the Castiana bombings and eventual Republic ground invasion, CNP forces are forced to fall back.

OOC: Map is of update! Since the CNP cannot defend its territory anymore, both rebel groups are marching across the lands, facing weak opposition like local police forces.

The Worker's Army pushed to the coast, moving to attack a naval base and commandeer the ships stationed there. The Worker's Army had also seized several fighter and bomber aircraft, which were used to attack Progressive Front forces in the wilderness, where no word of the attackers could reach command.

The Xentheridan government congratulates the successful ousting of the evil, despotic conservatives by the joint efforts of the Worker's Army and the Progressive Front. We wish this new Republic of Ryccia the best of luck, and offer aid should there by any issues; from funding, to peacekeeping. In the mean time, however, we urge the two-now rival-fronts to cooperate in a two party governmental system, and also endorse the idea of a temporary truce while relations progress.

Another letter was sent to the Nebulan Emperator, again from the same person. This time, however, the distaste in the writer's language was obvious.

Straight to the point. Seeing as the corrupt conservatives have already been ousted, I'm redacting my previous offer of a coup on Ryccia. However, should another... situation... like this arise again, I will offer my-and my army's- services to you. As per usual, arrange the place and time, and I'll be there.
XDPFY.

Republic forces, with tons of Syrixian technological and vehicular backing, pushed through Daonlanthas, securing it from Workers' Army forces. Syrixian-provided Republic planes knocked Workers' Army air forces out of the sky and many retreated. Most towns in Ryccia, fearing socialism and its expansion, preferred a democracy and joined the Republic. Once the land previously unclaimed by either the Republic or the Workers' Army was in Republic hands, the Republic began a massive offensive against the Workers' Army, pushing towards Kylosteia, winning most of the battles while losing a few. Castiana came into the Republic's hands the same day, and the leaders of the CNP were taken to a maximum-security prison in Dandeliontown. The Republic was winning by far, but they weren't out of the woods yet. Nevertheless, elections were being planned and the infant democracy was beginning to take political shape. Election commissioners had already been found.

Nebulan reinforcements have arrived at the naval base seized by the Worker's Army. The withers m Worker's Army, equipped with Nebulan aircraft, has begun nightly bombing raids in Daonlathas, particularly the dock areas and industrial centers.

In response, Republic forces began to bomb Kylosteia and all major Workers' Army-controlled cities using a scorched earth policy. Republic ground forces did the same on the way to Kylosteia. While they had lost some industrial assets at home, Syrixian industrial and equipmental assistance was able to keep the Republic afloat while these assets were repaired. All the while, the Workers' Army was losing ground.

OOC: Hold the phone, Syrixia. The Worker's Army is as armed as the TPF. So, stop. What is the Worker's Army? Some bowling pins?

IC:
After the CNP surrendered, both Worker's Army and TPF fought, but then, they agreed to divide the nation in half from Daonlathas(like Berlin. North Daonlathas is Worker's Army territory and South Daonlathas is republican territory). The nation was divided into North Ryccia and South Ryccia. But, as both claimed Ryccia for them, the fighting resumed.

Meanwhile the Royal Family has arrived to South Ryccia, and a referendum considering the monarchy will be done(Syrixia, I'll conduct the referendum).

OOC: The Republic has more forces than the Workers' Army and more ideological influence. I should also note that as the Workers' Army is OOCly controlled by Nebula and the Republic is OOCly controlled by me, you have no right to suddenly make them agree. If they're going to agree then Nebula and I will make them agree of our own accord. The fighting continues.

OOC: But who created them? Me. And what's the country? Ryccia. So I dictate the battlefield(and this would be the Vietnam situation you are looking for).

OOC: That's not how military RP works. The "It's My Country" logic only leads to bad RP. Good RPers let the story flow with them, and make decisions based on what happens.

OOC: The second the Ryccian government fell it became our fight. And as Nebula and I control the WA and the Republic respectively, we don't agree until we say we agree. Thus, the most recently updated map has zero precedence.
Whatever, fighting time.
A couple battalions of the Republic's now large ground forces had marched from Daonlanthas and were en route to Kylosteia. They had marched in a line, though not quite straight, through WA territory, decimating anything that could help the WA's forces along the way in a scorched earth policy. They were only a few towns away from Kylosteia when suddenly they ran into a Workers' Army regiment. The regiment was smaller than the Republic battalion, but it still could put up a devastating fight. After analyzing the scenery, the Republic forces emerged from the shadows and quickly advanced on the regiment, guns ablazing.

Nebulan bombers darkened the skies. The battalion was taken by surprise, but was able to retreat in an orderly fashion to defensible positions while the bombers took out Republican tank columns and advance troops.

Republic large bombers took to the skies, accompanied by regular bombers and fighter jets, targeting groups of Workers' Army soldiers, killing many of them with single explosions. Meanwhile, Syrixian-provided Republic destroyers cut off Nebulan supply lines to the WA, leaving them trapped, as the Ryccian coasts were secured by the Republic. However, back on the ground, WA soldiers kept appearing out of nowhere. The Republic soldiers held the line against any of them that got through the Republic Air Force's bombings, however advancements were slow. Nevertheless, they were still advancements.

The Julius Corporation of Kannex offers to sell to the Progressive Front scores of small arms, ammunition, artillery, anti-aircraft missilery, and tanks.

The Republic of Ryccia accepts the help of the Julius Corporation and thanks it for its further help against the socialist forces.

Nebulan warships off the coast have begun naval bombardments and missile attacks on Ryccian positions. Meanwhile, Worker's Army troops have begun establishing bases in remote areas of Ryccia in preparation for guerrilla warfare should things worsen.

Republic forces finally break through the Workers' Army defenses and begin marching towards Kylosteia, picking off any Workers' Army soldiers who straggled behind on the retreat. Meanwhile, Syrixian-provided warships and and planes began to fight back against the Nebulan ones. Kylosteia is within sight of the Republic ground forces and Kylosteia's airspace is Republic-dominated. A final attack will soon be imminent.

OOC: Yes. If the WA wins you'll become a Nebulan puppet state, and if the Republic wins, you'll become it- a free democracy.

The Worker's Army has retreated to their remote bases. Guerrilla attacks, hit-and-runs, and armed robberies became more and more common in nearby areas. Meanwhile, in several major cities, AFI agents began bribing gang members and criminals to target government areas.

Many arrests are made against robbers, terrorists, and a couple crime lords here and there as the Republic closes in on Kylosteia. As Republic forces surround the city, the rest of WA territory is slowly captured by Republic battalions using a cross-cut-and-finish strategy.

The Republic has responded by mass-bombing the key airfields used by the WA airforces and shooting the planes out of the sky via fighter jets and warships. Republic forces still surround Kylosteia.
