Would anyone be interested in a historic RP

I think just generally international relations at the time, and crises. I call the crazy empire who invades everything spot!

EDIT: I got it! How about one nation owns Ixelonia as a colony, and then there is a multinational war over its resources once gold is discovered! Syrixia would end up winning, of course, since that's how the canon played out in the end.

Please.
We just had a roleplay surrounding around you, not again !

Here are a few ideas:
Volcanic eruption destroys 5 cities and devastates surrounding area or causes some weather or other disaster event. The precursor events, the event, and the aftermath. This may effect some nations while others react and assist or take advantage.

A NPC nation that has long been closed to outsiders opens its borders to trade.

A plague event.

A great race.

An astronomical event (possibly a meteor shower or discovery of one or more planetary bodies.)

Syrixia:

No, that's my spot. You have to be the moderator that stops Kannex and I from strangling each other. :)

Remember the technology. This is the 17th century we're talking about; we'd still be using muskets.

A NPC nation opens its doors... given the slow communications technology, I doubt it would be that big of a deal. Just a few ships here and there sailing to the nation's ports. We'd all have to be huge colonial powers (not everyone can be a Spain) to really care or have the resources to do anything big.

A plague... we'd just be dying left and right. Correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think they had many disease-control methods back then.

A great race... of what sort?

Astronomical event... we'd react to it, yes, but what then?

How about we do alternate history, so that we're free from accidentally screwing up our canon histories? We'd have more freedom to maneuver then.

Well, we could do a Syrixia vs. Nebula thing. Scramble for colonies? Maybe.

An alternate history is less fun because it doesn't have as much an impact on the universe of TNP. I like the Scramble for a New Continent idea.

Speaking of, what should we name our continents, including the new one?

An NPC nation opening its doors:
Technological advancements and trades. Travel opportunities seeing this new nation and bringing back new foods and cultural items. New goods to your nation and to that nation which you can contract through a major trade power. The internal effect this has on your nation with new goods or loss of trade to others. External effect this has between you and others as they may no longer need your goods or may now buy goods enhanced with items from the nation.

Plague:
How it started in your nation, the spread, and the way your nation reacts to the event and the fallout from those events.
Treatments for diseases may include Bacteriophages, Ointments, Poultices/Traditional medicine, Serum treatments, Isolation, Vaccinations (Pre-treatment), etc
Yes, some actually work, and are the basis for modern medicines. Also some items such as Bacteriophages and serums are being used now to treat antibiotic resistant bacteria.

A great race:
A race for a prize of course and the pride of the nation. Water, land, who knows... that's up for discussion.

Astronomical event:
What if the event causes some problem such as violent violetists seeing it as a prophecy to do something.
Maybe it is a physical meteor shower that does not get completely broken up in the atmosphere.
Discovery of new technology such as the telescope allowing planets to be discovered and named.
Argument regarding a new astronomical theory.

Natural disaster event:
Volcanic eruption, our assistance to the victims or taking advantage of the situation. People leaving the area that may land on our shores or cross our borders and try to seize new land.
Earthquake unsettles debris in the waters and opens vents poisoning some waters temporarily. Darkened skies, poor crop yields, starvation, drop in temperature from regular climate, etc

We can also scramble for colonies as you say either in an alternate timeline or current timeline. Either in TNP or outside. Ceretis has holdings outside TNP and this could explain how some of that happened.

Hiskjriaana:
The crusades seem a little too historic, but the Thirty Year's War would work.
Why's that? :P Both are pretty historic if you ask me. And both are religious wars.

^This. Perhaps a more Seven Year's War type conflict, one that is fought across the whole region, in both the mother nations and their colonies?

So basically a much earlier version of World War I? We could have the Allies VS the Nebula Axis or Central Powers or whatever.

Syrixia:

I call Syrixia, Guslantis and Cronaal Alliance.

But see, that's the thing. Syrixia was an evil empire at the time. It may still choose allies for political manipulation purposes though.

Nebula, where can I find a history of your nation? If there was a time before Nebula was socialist, I would like a Kannex-Nebula alliance. It would make for some interesting history.

Well, actually, this would have to be after the mid-18th century, because Kannex doesn't even exist until 1756.

Nebula:
I call the cool people.
So, me basically. :P

During this period, my nation was a formidable military force, so I like this idea quite a bit. Shall we determine the alliances? Maybe you guys can give me an overview of your nations at this time so I can best determine whom my nation would ally with at the time?

Syrixia:

Cronaal's heir, pre-murder, raped the daughter of a royal family. Your point?

Kannex:

As a matter of fact, I've not written one. I'll try to find time, though.

Cronaal:

Nebula:
Is it just me, or does Cronaal have a graphic imagination? :)

I blame jazz music, video games, and the internets.

At the time we were as always militarily strong with our land forces, and good with our navy. Our forces strength though was not in their numbers, but in their excellent training, technology, and tactics.

We have remained a rather stable cultured, nation with many freedoms through much of our middle and modern history. However due to their extensive and quality military training on land and sea, they formed private military corporations licensed for operation through the government, as well as merchants, and privateers with letters of marquis. (Early through middle history and somewhat through more modern times including this time period.)

In a nut shell our people are religious capitalists (not corporatists) ruled by a monarch but enjoy many freedoms. Nationally they do not extend their military might unless required seeking alternative methods instead, and usually only in their colonies/territories or against active threats to their sphere of interest (nation, people, etc.) They are interested in science, culture, and education, hate failure, and seek continual improvement. (They Deming Cycle their 'world' be it their self, house, community, nation, or world.)

They have not always been this way, but this is the path they eventually settled upon.

Kannex:
In other words, Ceretis, we can't match your perfection.
No, Kannex, we're certainly not perfect. We're all just flowers in a field, beautiful and different. Is one flower better than another?

We strive to perfection only because we see the imperfections in ourselves. People could say our government is heartless because it has low social protection. But that only forces the private sector / religious sector to fill the void. We do not lavishly spend through the government because to take from the government treasury in charity is to take what is not yours to give in taxes.

Our people have freedom because they have tasted oppression and rejected its bitterness. We choose capitalism because it's the most effective economy to reward those who try, the most effective at pulling the poor off the street, and allows the rich to fall if they are fools.

We are a religious and faithful people because we see the darkness in ourselves and seek the light we can attain through grace. To say that we do not have a dark past and at times a dark present would be to speak only part of the truth. We each have a path to walk in life, we seek to be washed in perfection, but know that we will stumble and fall. Together though we can at least try to help each other along.

Culturally we are strong and seek to improve because we have seen the brutality of war, the darkness in our hearts, and the darkness in this world. We can either choose to wallow in that darkness or adorn our lives with moments of beauty and share in others expression of the light. Culture also gives us great food, song, laughter, and wine.

We like science and education because it makes cool stuff for us to sell, keeps us from pooping in the forest, starving to death, dying of some stupid thing, having crappy places to live, having to work all day, or getting cheated.

Last but not least, we're mercenaries, we'll chop your s*it into mince meat if you try something. Even our birds are used as weapons. ;)

Hah, you use birds as weapons? The Empire uses real weapons!

...such as toenails!

If this is in standard history this will need to be sometime in the 1600s earlier the better or it'll cause issue with another RP of mine with Plembobria and Xentherida. If it's alternate history whenever is fine.
