Candidacy Declarations: September 2014 General Elections

This September General Election, The North Pacific will be electing a Delegate,a Vice Delegate, and a Speaker to serve until the next election in January 2015. Any Regional Assembly member who has been a member for the last 15 days is eligible to run for these offices and eligible members may run for more than one of these offices if they so wish. Loss of Regional Assembly membership before the conclusion of this election will also result in loss of eligibility to run for any office during this election.

To run, one must either accept a nomination or declare candidacy in this thread. To withdraw from running, one must post a withdrawal of candidacy in this thread.

Acceptances of nominations, declarations of candidacy, and withdrawals of candidacy posted outside this thread will be discounted. Acceptance of a nomination is understood to also constitute declaration of candidacy even if no nomination has been made. Acceptances of nominations, declarations of candidacy, and withdrawals of candidacy must be posted during the candidacy declaration period to be valid. The candidacy declaration period is from September 1st 8:15 AM to September 5th 8:15 AM. Voting will be approximately from September 6th 8:15 AM to September 11th 8:15 AM.

This topic is intended for nominations, acceptances of nominations, declarations of candidacy, and withdrawals of candidacy; it may not be used for campaigning. Please keep in mind that lying about the election is election fraud, and that lying for any purpose is fraud.

Thank you for nominating me but I respectfully decline.
 
I must decline my nomination for Speaker. I unfortunately cannot devote the time necessary to serve until January at the earliest. I have not ruled out a future run.

I appreciate the nomination but I don't feel I am yet ready and accustomed enough to the policies and regulations of the RA to do a good enough job :)

But I will probably try to get more knowledgeable about it and hence perhaps the next time!
 
After thinking for a while, I decide to rescind my declination of my nomination, and announce that I am running for the office of Speaker.
 
As the original post of this thread was not specific as to time zone, I now declare the period for Candidacy Declaration closed.

Voting will begin tomorrow. Good luck to all the candidates!
