Shadows moved through the forest. Lights shined in the distance. Dogs could be heard barking. The lights and dogs were getting closer. The shadows reached a clearing. A dirt road winded through. Seeing no options the shadows jumped into the trees. The night was still once more.

Silence was soon broken by five military vehicles rushing down the dirt road. A helicopter could be heard coming. The vehicles suddenly stopped in the clearing. Bright lights were shown into the trees. A helicopter appeared with more lights. A commander shouted, "IN THE TREES! SHOOT THEM OUT!" Soldiers appeared and fired into the trees. Screams could be heard. Bodies fell out of the trees and the shadows were no more.

The soldiers returned to their vehicles. The commander began to move when she heard a grunt. She turned around swiftly to notice a shadow limping towards her.

The shadow spoke, "Sub-commander Nadal! We finally meet. A pity not on equal ground. But it doesn't matter. You can't stop this rebellion. The revolution shall begin. And Vicci will fall."

"How misguided of you. Your fighters are dead. You Captain have lost. Your little 'rebellion' is finished."

"Nadal you are the fool! The people shall rise and take back what is theirs! And I will fight to the last breath!" The captain pulled out two grenades from his jacket. "And now that last breath comes." He opened his jacket revealing a bomb vest. He threw the grenades and ran towards the commander and the vehicles...

Officers Headquarters in Viccea

"General Karn sir!"

"At ease soldier. You better have a good reason for waking me up this early in the morning."

"Yes sir! We have lost contact with Sub-commander Nadal. She was hunting the Shadow Corps of the North. Her last known location was fifteen miles south of Tiraspol. The entire area has gone cold. None of our Tiraspolan forces have made contact in the last four hours."

"Damn the North! Damn the Northerners! Damn them all! Get a response team out to Nadal's location. Find her! And get contact reestablished with our forces!"

"Yes sir! Right away! But where are you off to?"

"To meet with the King. The proud spirit of the North ends now."

A village somewhere in the North East of Malvad.

The door opened and in walked Erwin August. "Hello again, Erwin." "Hey, Dan, what've you got?" "Some good, some bad."
August's personal radioman swiveled his chair around and picked up a sheet of paper on the table in front of his radio and looked his notes over before beginning. "Since the word was given at 12:30, the other rebel groups have been very successful. As of an hour ago most of the country-side has been taken outside of some pockets of resistance but fighting continues over Tiraspol and some other cities and towns throughout the North. No word from the Shadow Corps on Nadal yet. On the whole, the effort has been going well. No word as to what the government's response will be just yet, but no doubt it'll be swift and brutal."
"What's the bad?"
"As of 55 minutes ago, the radios in our area have been jammed, I have no idea how anyone outside this village is doing. Somewhere, someone is jamming our radios."
"Damn, it's government forces jamming our signals, no doubt. Must be somewhere that wasn't overwhelmed quickly and stayed loyal. Those jamming systems are our first priority for now. I need to re-establish contact with the rest of our section and the rest of the rebels. Thanks for the info, I'm going to speak to the infantry and work on eliminating whatever pockets of resistance remain in the North East. I'll speak to you later, Dan, I've got my walkie, if the jamming gets lifted let me know.
"Good luck, Erwin."
"Thanks."

Presidential HQ, Capitol District, Democratic States of LibertarianLand

President Paul Washington sat at his desk sipping a latte fresh from the presidential Kitchen. He had just finished lunch, he had decided on a steak cooked medium-rare and scrambled eggs since he missed breakfast this morning due to sleeping in. Every President is entitled to sleep in every once in awhile, plus he was exausted (slightly hungover) from having drank too much bourbon the night before at a state dinner where the D.S.L.L entertained foreign dignitaries from The Constitutional Monarchy and Kindom of Alunya.

He was looking over some classified intelligence reports when his phone buzzed. The President picked up the line and said "hello" it was his chief of staff Christopher Dale Allen: "Sir, The Foreign Affairs and Intelligence secretary is here and she would like to speak with you." The President responded "Very well send Paige in."

Shortly after a Special Services agent clad in a black suit and a ear piece swung the doors to the Presidential office open and in walked the most stunning brunnette you had ever seen. Paige Victoria the Presidents secretary of Foreign Affairs, Intelligence, and Under-Secretary of defense looked very disturbed. At 45 years old Paige was probably the youngest on the Presidential Cabinet, her parents were shocked when instead of deciding to follow her mom, a Harvard law professor, or her dad, a influential banking executive, she decided to serve her country. At 18 she enlisted in the LibertarianLand militaries Naval Branch and her high IQ was noted quickly as she was recruited into Officer Candidate School almost instantly. She rose thru the ranks of military intelligence with ease over a 10 year career then she was recruited to leave military intelligence to join the L.I.A. (Libertarian Intelligence Agency) where she eventually became a Bureau Chief before being selected by the President.

The President looked up and smiled and said "What can I do for you madam secretary?" Paige Victoria responded "Things just got real heated around Vicci, last night our satelites picked up heavy resistance fighting and we have recieved garbled radio transmissions." President Washington smirked "About time those Malvadians started fighting back against that dictatorship."
The Madam Secretary just stared at the President "You know if we would have got on board with the WA we could have liberated it a long time ago. That only fell by one vote." The President got irritated "Yes Paige but that is not OUR FIGHT! You know my opinion on being the police of the world, anyway Malvad is close to our allies in Aurora Orb and has The East Pacific Embassy there, correct?"

The Secretary nodded. The President went onto say "Very well as Under Secretary of Defense get with Mr. Venture and send in one of our Carrier Groups and station them between Orb and Malvad. But let it be clear I don't intend to get in other countries petty squables this is just for show for the damn 'international community'." The president used his fingers to make air quotes.

"Very well" retorted the madam secretary and she turned around and walked out to find the Secretary of Defense Johnny Venture. The President stared at her long legs in her black skirt and high heels until she was out the door; then he took a long pull from his latte and picked the phone up to call Emerick Alexander Johansberg the Presidents Press Secretary.

A letter to the current head of state in Malvad, King Ronald Vicci

Salutations,
The Federation of the Principality of Legington has been noted in the conflict between your current government and that of the rebellion of a faction you dubbed 'the North'.

It is in the best interest of the Legi people and the government to remain neutral in this conflict, as it has neither merit for the people nor does it satisfy our current goals.

However, recent information suggests that a man by the name of Ivan Slothgard is assisting the rebels in the fight against your government. This man is considered a criminal under the law and constitution of the Federation of the Principality of Legington under the charges of illegal espionage, industrial sabotage, disturbing the peace, open military conflict on Legi soil, treason and among other crimes.

Due to the list above, Ivan Slothgard is considered a traitor to the Legi government and must be brought to justice.

While it is not in our best interest to assist your government in this conflict, the government of the Federation of the Principality of Legington proposes that in exchange for assisting the Legi Armed Forces find, capture and execute Ivan Slothgard, the government of the Federation of the Principality of Legington will assist the government of Malvad in maintaining the peace in society.

We hope you heed this letter with consideration.

Regards,
Tyrant Fredericka Gurgen
Prime Minister Reginald von Slu
Minister of War Elsa Bjuren
Minister of Foreign Affairs Hakura Mushini

4:00 PM
City Central Hall, Tiraspol

The army never saw it coming. In the early morning hours all communications were taken out. Within the next few hours most of the far north fell. Tiraspol saw heavy fighting until the afternoon, but finally the army retreated. Tiraspol and the far north were free from Vicci.

Commander Sans Vigil, leader of the operation, stood in the Great Room of Central Hall. He had done it. He had taken back his home. He smiled at himself, content with his success.

Suddenly the doors swung open. In walked two men in uniform. "Hello gentlemen," Vigil greeted, "Let us sit. We have much to discuss." The three men took their seats.

The first man, Minister Andrew Winters the exiled leader, started, " Well friends. It has begun. The Revolution is here. The North is mostly under our control and it took only a day. We must capitalize on this success. We should prepare our forces to march south and surround the Southern Cities!"

The second man, Fleet Commander Admiral Samuel Lourdes, spoke up, "My friend! We can't be so cocky and arrogant. Vicci may have lost the battle but not the war. We took them by surprise. We can not expect to be so lucky next time. We must consolidate our current power."

"Maybe Admiral. Commander Vigil, what do you think?"

"Minister, I understand you wish to free Malvad as soon as possible but...we can't be too headstrong. We should place forces at the Northern border. The rest should be used to consolidate our control."

"Excellent compromise Commander. Give the order."

"Yes Minister. I am also deploying a unit to search for the Shadow Corps. We've had no word since our operation began."

"Good Commander. I also want you to head South with our border forces." Winters stopped for a moment. Then started again, " And Admiral, I want you to head to the Democratic States of LinertarianLand. We need more support. And they are just the country to help."

"Yes Minister!"

Yes sir!"

"And as for me, I will remain here in Tiraspol. We will need to organize before anarchy ensues. Goodbye gentlemen." The gentlemen rose from their seats and left the Central Hall.

The Thundering Palace, Viccea

The King rose from his throne to speak, "General Karn!!! What the hell is happening!?! And where is Nadal!?!"

The General was speechless. The Armed Forces had lost control of the North. Sub-commander Nadal was presumed dead. The King was furious. The people were in full revolt. Karn could lose his head for this.

Suddenly the doors slammed open. A cloaked figure entered the room. The figure slowly removed the cloak and limped closer to the men. The figure wore a burnt security uniform which appeared to be melted onto the person. Three-fourths of the figures face was severely scarred. The figure spoke, "Nadal reporting sir! Your Highness, you know what the hell is happening. Your citizens are revolting. The North is lost. And now the South is at risk. Action must be taken!"

Karn reacted, "Nadal you're alive!"

The King yelled, "Of course she is alive you idiot! Now shut up!"

"Yes sir," Karn mumbled.

Nadal approached the King. "All of our forces must be mobilized immediately. We can't let this revolt proceed any further."

"Thank you Nadal. Karn mobilize our forces. And tell the Legis their criminal will be shot. And 'peacekeepers' would be most helpful. Now get out of my sight, the both of you!"

Karn and Nadal exited the room. Karn pulled Nadal aside after leaving. "How are you alive? I heard reports the Shadow Corps massacred all of you."

"The Shadow Corps has been eliminated. One pulled some explosives trick. He tried to kill me and failed. My forces are gone though. I was lucky enough to find more of our forces on my way south. And I'm alive. And this rebellion ends now." Nadal pushed Karn back and walked away.

An estate 20 miles north of the new border between north and south

Erwin August looked around the long teak dining table. Seated around it were various leaders of rebel infantry battalions under his command. Most had been up for hours before 12:30am when the initial word was given and all had been fighting throughout the day to secure their objectives and mop up remaining resistance. It showed on their tired faces. "Gentlemen, we've successfully taken the North-East and re-established communications with Vigil in Tiraspol and they've captured the city. Elsewhere, the North has been virtually secured. Dan, could you re-read the orders from Vigil?"

"Sure." August's radioman looked down at his notes and began to read,
"Command has asked us to place forces at the new Northern border. Others should be used to consolidate and establish further control and stability in our respective areas of operation. The Northern border he's referring to is roughly 20 miles south of us. In the meantime, there's still no word on Shadow Corps and Nadal but Winters is dispatching a unit to look for them and command is also reaching out to other countries seeking support."

August again looked at the men around the table and continued.
"I think you'll agree with me that they've chosen the right course of action. I had some doubt in Winters' strategic prowess, but him or his command staff seem to be making the right calls so far. Let's hope that continues. As far as our orders goes, from here on out there will be 3 equal sections in the North-East: South at the border, Central in the middle and the North at the top. Versi? Lanning?"
Two men looked away from their maps and up at August.
"You two will take the two sections away from the border, Versi take the Northernmost half, Lanning take the other. You're objective is to consolidate our power and make sure we're in stable control with the troops under your command, I want you to also begin establishing proper supply lines. Everyone else will be setting up along that new border to the south, take up good defensive positions, build fortifications, and I want all major roads blocked off at the border for the time being. I'm devoting most of our troops to that defensive line to ensure that any counter-attack they might begin does not penetrate the new border. Bring your troops there tonight and then rest gentlemen, a tired army does not fight very well and the counter-attack will not come tonight. Any questions?"
The room was silent. "Dismissed."

11:30
"I think we've a real chance at this, Dan."
The two men were the only ones left in the dining room. August still stood at the end of the table pouring over the map of the northern regions of Malvad before him.
"We've helped start something amazing here, Erwin, let's hope we do not falter." he replied.
"I imagine Vicci is mobilizing most of his forces as we speak. The advantages they have of proper armoured vehicles and air support are not things to be taken lightly. We're fighting an uphill battle or I don't know what an "uphill battle" is. Nonetheless, I can feel the spirit of the North pulsing through the people and the soldiers and spurring us along every step of the way. I think we've a real chance at this, Dan, I really do."
"Aye, I think we do. In the meantime, we both need sleep. We've both been up longer than any of the men at that table had been. There's nothing to be done for now." Dan headed for the door.
"I just want a couple more minutes."
"Suit yourself, but I'm calling it a night!" he replied and closed the door behind him.
August stood before the map and traced his finger along his birthplace east of Tiraspol and various other villages where the state had commited brutal acts under Vicci's reign. Finally his reign shall be ended, he thought, finally Malvad shall be free again.

Port Red, Stratgardt, F.P.L.

The Minister of War Elsa Bjuren and Lord-hood Gregory Storm overlooked the massive shipping of supplies onto a fleet of ships.

"We're really going to war. Aren't we?" Gregory asked the minister.

"Of course. This isn't something you should be familiar with though. Need I remind you your rank?"

Gregory chuckled a little. "That isn't necessary. I just thought we would be fighting some organised pirates or trying to establish a colony. I never thought we would be assisting a dictator keep his country."

"You know this is what has to be done." Elsa pointed out. "Slothgard is extremely dangerous. If he is assisting this war it will get five times worse for both sides. Even if the rebels do win he's going to make it difficult for them."

"But to help a tyrant like Vicci? This country had to deal with people like him in the past, and all it did was bring misery."

"Well, it's not our country. We have no right to judge. All we can do is think and act."

Elsa patted her hand on Gregory's shoulder for reassurance. "You're too sentimental. That fact that your Lord-hood surprises me."

Both Elsa and Gregory laughed at the comment, then went straight back to work.

"Do you remember what you have to do?" Elsa asked.

"My first set of orders is to have my forces arrive in Viccea, Malvadiana City and Vienna via airplane. From there we will distribute goods and needed supplies to the people to try to get Vicci some support. We will try to interact as much with the locals as possible to secure order."

Elsa applauded Gregory. "Right. You should be in Malvad by 1100 hours. Remember. Most of the supplies I'm giving you is for the civilians. As far as equipment goes you'll be armed lightly compared to either the rebels or Vicci's forces. And there will be fewer of you to. You're the to act as a military police until the other shipments arrive."

Gregory looked puzzled. "I'm guessing that's it over there?" said Gregory pointing to the ships.

"That's right." Elsa nodded. "Everything from tanks, ammunition, food and even toys for little kids will be coming in those ships. That's when we can make a presence."

"When does that arrive?" Gregory asked.

"About a day or two. We're not crossing McMasterdonia like originally planned, so the trip will take longer."

Anything can happen in two days. Gregory was not only uncomfortable fighting armies that did him no harm, but now he has to wait to defend his armies in a time period that could get them wiped off Malvad.

"I'm sure it will be fine. We're not going near the Border. And we're here as a police force. Even if conflict erupts our job will be to evacuate civilians while Vicci and the rebels fight it out."

"This just doesn't seem right to me."

"Lord-hood Storm. We are after Slothgard and nothing else." Elsa barked. "I suggest you get yourself ready. You need to be prepared in an hour."

Gregory saluted. "Yes ma'am."

The LibertarianLand Naval Carrier Battle Group Alpha (CBG-A) were crusing at a comfortable 20 knotts about 2,400 Nautical Miles northeast of Malvad (OOC: roughly the distance between RL New York and California)

The group was comprised of the best Aircraft carrier in the fleet; The D.S.L.L. Libertas; escorting her were 2 cruisers, 3 destroyers, 2 frigates, 2 anti-submarine warfare ships, and various supply ships. These ships were arranged in a specific pattern in a 25 NM radius around the carrier to insulate her from attack.

The carrier is capable of holding 100 fixed wing aircraft, 6 supply helicopters, 3 Search and Rescue choppers, 2 transport choppers for the special forces detachment assigned to the carrier, and 4 AWACS (Airborne Warning and Control Systems) aircraft. The Libertas was preparing for nighttime operations.

In the Tactical Operations Center various crew were manning the insturments. A Petty Officer looked up from manning various communications equipment.

"Skipper, I am recieving communications from EagleEyes that two of our submarines - codenamed 'NightStalker' and 'GrimTar' - The GrimTar is a guided missle sub and the NightStalker is a attack sub - the subs are about 1,500 NMs due east of our location - EagleEye is reporting the subs sending out signal that they are being pinged by unknown ships."

Captain Max Killgallion perked up.
"Well we better send someone to check it out."
The Captain picked up the phone near his command consol and dialed in the number for the Airboss, the Chief Air Traffic Contoller, it is their job to coordinate all launches, landings, and movement of aircraft on board.

"Commander Billicks!"

"Commander this is the skipper..."

"What can I do for you Cap?!"

"Who do you got on Alert-5 right now?"

The Airboss looked down at his charts. "CAP, I got a Lieutenant Pete Schaffer callsign "Donkey Punch" as Pilot and Lieutenant Commander Bill Thompson as the RIO callsign 'Sea Wolf'."

The Captain let out a large audible sigh. "Those cowboys? Alright, listen up tell Donkey Punch that a couple of our submarines are getting pinged 1,500NMs due east of us by unknown shipping. Unknown if they're military or civilian. I want them to see if they can identify."

The Airboss responded "Yes Sir, Right away sir."

FMS Czar Godric, 5000 miles north of Malvad

Admiral Lourdes stood on the bridge of the aircraft carrier, FMS Czar Godric. It was good to be back on his ship. The ship had once been a part of the famed Second Fleet of Malvad. Vicci had dissolved the fleet to prevent any threat to his rule. The Czar Godric, at the time the IMS Vienna, had been left in Tiraspol to rust. It was recovered after the retaking of the city. Lourdes thought it fitting to rename the ship after Czar Godric. Vicci had captured the Czar the first time he took power in 2012. The Czar was not seen or heard again. Godric had been a symbol of freedom and prosperity. Lourdes thought it best to rename the ship to better represent the revolution.

The Admiral turned to a sailor at one of the stations. "Son, how long have you been in the navy?"

"Almost five years now sir."

"What fleet were you with? Ever seen some action?"

"Twenty-Second Fleet sir. No action."

"Twenty-Second? Where was that stationed?"

"In the Southern Bay. Only a few ships. We were tasked with guarding Modino Maro."

"And look where you are now. With the famed Second Fleet. Or at least what's left of it. I'm sure your family is proud."

Not proud sir. They would be disgusted if they knew. My family is from Vienna. They are strong Vicci loyalists."

"I'm sorry son."

"Thank you sir."

"What's your name son?"

"Benjamin Clifton sir. Private First Class."

"Well Benjamin Clifton Private First Class. Ever been to LibertarianLand?"

"Can't say I have sir."

"Well we should be there by nightfall. You'll be joining my detachment there."

"Sir?" Clifton's voice shook. Why would the Admiral choose him to help? "Why me sir?"

"I'm not sure son. I just have a feeling. I feel you're meant for greatness."

"Thank you sir."

The Admiral walked off the bridge leaving Clifton and two other sailors. As soon as Lourdes was gone the three gathered close. Clifton pulled out a transmitter. "The plan has been put into motion."

"Welcome Your Highness to Central Command," Karn welcomed. The King had never visited before. And Karn had nothing good to report.

"Pleasantries will not help you Karn. Nadal has already informed me of your incompetence. I'm only here to oversee the transition."

"What transition Your Highness?"

The King smirked. "The transition of Nadal to acting Commander of the Armed Forces."

Karn turned white. "But Your Highness-"

"Enough Karn or I will have you executed! Consider this an early retirement. You just haven't got the ruthlessness or the skill for this job. Nadal has shown herself to be all of that and more. Now get out of my sight!"

Karn slowly walked out of the room. Nadal stood outside the doorway with a charred smirk. Karn became enraged. "How dare you do this to me!?!"

"It was coming anyway Karn. You were never fit for this position. I am the obvious option if we are to save Malvad. If you were kept you would fail and our glorious nation would collapse."

"This is not over Nadal." Karn swiftly left.

Nadal smirked and spoke softly, "Oh, but it already is my friend."

The skipper sat at his desk at the ready room on the phone with the Admiral in charge of N.H.C (Naval High Command).

"Yes, sir, we are still monitoring those Fenichi supply ships that were pinging our subs. Yes sir they were definately heading toward Malvad. The last approxamation had them reaching Malvad terrirorial waters by evening. Also, dad...there is one other thing. Our ships and AWACs have witnessed Malvadian ships a small old rust bucket of a carrier and 2 even rustier old style crusiers and 1 supply ship heading towards our neck of the woods our logistics personnel feel they'll be off the coast by evening. They didnt seem hostile when they were in range of our shipping."

Admiral Lennert Killgalion spoke up. "Thanks son I'll let the President know, keep your head on a swivel out there kid. Love you."

"I love you too dad."

The Captain and the Admiral disconnected the call.

The Defense secretary put a cigar out on the ashtray and downed some hot black coffee. 'Sir, Admiral Killgalion at Naval High Command says he has gotten intel report from the Libertas Carrier group that a small contingent of Malvad navy vessels are heading here and will be here by 19:30 hours. With unknown intentions.

The President put his latte down and stopped trying to steal glances of Foreign Affairs Secretary Victoria sighed and said "I want the Libertarian Guard on Alert, in fact put all our domestic troops on high alert. I want defcon 4 ordered. And send the Navy and coast guard to the edge of our territorial waters. We don't know what their intentions are so lets meet them in international waters and signal them to find out."

"Yes sir, right away sir."

Today was like any other day, Seren Andrew Donavan's Leadership Office was quiet while he was busy editing a bill he was trying to get Congress to pass(Which failed the first time, it's not easy being a new leader). Suddenly the office door slammed wide open, it was his Head of Foreign Affair's Carla Riddick. Carla was angry today, a bit to angry(Her mood is usually calm and collected, she didn't get mad often), she was also holding a newspaper. Andrew looked up for a second, then look at the paper he was working on.

"Hello Carla, how are you today?"

"I'm fine."

"That's good"(He continued to work on his paper)

Carla walked up to his desk and slammed the newspaper on the Seren's desk, with the headline in plain site.
"Sir, do you know what happened"

He looked for a second, "Oh ya, the rebels took Tiraspol in Malvad. Why are you showing me this?"

"Because this happened 3 days ago."

"I know, I am the Seren. Remember, I'm briefed daily on things like this."

"Why didn't you allow us to intervene then?"

"Because Carla it's not our problem, we have good relations with Malvad and I don't want Armed Interventions this year"

"But sir, we could use this as a negation deal, we could offer to help the rebels and get something in return, thing's like trade or allowing companies in New Haven to expand into Malvad. Besides, the rebel's did ask for help."

"And what if they don't win with our help? Our relations with Malvad would crumble, then we get thrown into another war"

"And if they do win, we can spread our influence throughout the region, and we do have one of the strongest militaries on the planet."

"Carla, give me a few days to decide. Until then, get out of my office."

Carla turned and stormed out, slamming the door on her way."

Andrew continued to work on his bill and thought to himself "Why did I pick her for Leader of Foreign Affair's."

Legi HQ "Spirit", Vienna

"Admiral Thnir. I'm glad to hear that you'll be here on schedule."

"Don't thank me until I actually get there Lord-hood Storm. You know how fate treats the people of Legington."

Gregory and Thnir began exchanging reports. Thnir explained to Gregory that to save time he sailed close to Libertarian waters.

"Were you caught?" Gregory asked. "Most definitely. You can't hide a shipment of this size, and I doubt the Libertarians are idiots. I don't know if they found out where we're landing yet."

"If you spot a Libertarian ship approaching you just keep sailing casually until they message you. Those shipments for the people."

"I'll keep that advice in mind. What about the docks? Will they be ready for the cargo ships?"

"You can fit a few in each port, so you might have to make a few trips. Be sure to secure a defensive perimeter around the ports when the supplies are being unloaded."

"I understand what to do. Admiral Thnir out."

Gregory rubbed his eyes together. He honestly didn't know how he can pull something off this huge without causing a conflict. The biggest threat to the Legi forces, in Gregory's opinion, is LibertarianLand. If they thought Gregory's forces were a threat they could cause serious damage to the Legi operation. While the Minister of War disagrees. She believes that Ivan himself would be a much greater task to deal with.

Gregory's thoughts were interrupted by a knocking of the door.

"Come in." Gregory said. When the door opened, General Mushido was there.

"Sir, glad you could come at such a short notice. How are things?"

"Very well. I have full confidence in us securing a presence in Malvad. Look at these charts you asked for."

The charts Mushido handed over were dubbed "popularity polls". These polls showed the general consensus of the current situation. Most of the polls seemed to favour Vicci, but the comment section was almost filled with remarks about the Legi support aid.

"I don't know whether to be flattered or embarrassed." Gregory spoke.

"This will definitely make securing the people a lot easier. And if we ever do travel north we could apply the same tactics to gain support."

"General, you are in charge of the forces here in Vienna. I suggest you keep you remember that."

Mushido looked almost embarrassed. "Please forgive me. I just can't wait to get out of here."

"Why do you say that?" Gregory asked with a hint of curiosity.

"We're only involved in this war because of Slothgard, and the reason why we're helping Vicci is because of Slothgard."

"Aye. That is a way to look at it."

"Than why don't we just ask the Rebels to hand him over?"

Gregory almost smiled at that remark, as if it was the most base question ever asked. "While Mr. Slothgard is a psychopath, he is exceptionally brilliant. He graduated from both the University of Legington and the University of Urusa. He went into the railroad business and joined the military as a technician. He is useful as he is intelligent. If the Rebels need all the help they can get, Slothgard is definitely someone they would be interested in."

"But what about Vicci? He hasn't helped us at all since we got here."

"I completely agree with you, but we're in a position where we need a man dead. I don't say this lightly general, but that man needs to die."

"I agree. Well then, I should be off. Anything else I should do?"

"Yes. What can you tell me of the recent radio reports ?"

Mushido just shrugged. "I can't tell. We need better equipment. Vicci and the Rebels are just organising positions but we can't get anything accurate. However, there is a lot of talk about this "Shadow Corps"."

"I'm sorry?" Gregory asked.

"I don't know anything about them. I tried getting permission from Malvadian documents, but I either get a "please come again later" or a top secret document I can't access."

Gregory nodded. "Good work. Return to your duties."

Mushido left without a second thought, leaving Gregory to his thoughts. "So, Vicci has a little secret. I guess I can't dig in too deep. I don't want a war on two fronts, and I don't want to completely set this country into a world of flames. Oh, Goddess of Fate, with your cruel intentions. What exactly do you have in store for us?"

International waters near Malvad and Fenichi

The Thongham a At-Sea Replenishment Ship with assistance with a detachment of an At-Sea Coast Guard Search and Rescue cutter was conducting an alongside-connected replenishment with the hospital ship Hermes. It was rough waters and a heavy storm. The crew noticed flashing lights in the distance and just assumed it was lighting from the storm shruged it off and kept on working. After awhile they heard faint mayday calls come over the radios.

"..hel...p...tak..water...Feni...Supply Shi..The Baleine....compartment flooded....heavy listing to the side...we are sinking!!.mayday may day!"

The coast guard cutter sprang into action along with rescue elements of the hospital ship. A nearby construction and matience vessel was signaled and came to assist the Baleine. Wounded and drowning victims were taken back to the Hermes for treatment.what supplies and documents could be salvaged were salvaged. It became apparant the Fenichians were transporting goods and weapons to assist the malvadian government. Everything was done to help the Fenichians. Naval command was called it was decided that The LibertarianLand military is one of the most elite in the world however they only fight if provoked. The situation in Malvad is none of LibertsrianLands business. Who cares who the Fenichians were assisting. After Fenichi repair ships showed up and their own hospital ship wounded and dead from the Baleine were transferred off the Hermes to them. LibertarianLand vessels and personnel left the area and let the Fenichi alone to finish cleaning up their mess.

"Admiral! We will be in LibertarianLand waters within the hour."

"Thank you sailor. Tell communications to tell the nearest Libertarian ship of our presence. We'll need their permission to enter."

"Yes sir!"

The Admiral was quite tired. He was very worried about how the Libertarians would react. They could think he was coming to declare war. Although LibertarianLand was a relatively new power, they could still destroy the rebel forces easily. The situation had to be handled with the utmost delicacy.

"Admiral! The Libertarians are hailing us!"

"Visual or transmission?"

"Visual sir."

"Send it to my screen." A small screen popped out of the Admiral's desk. The ship might've been old but it had some of the latest military hardware. A man appeared on the screen.

"This is Admiral Killgalion of the Naval High Command. I demand you cease further advancing towards our territory and state your intentions toward us."

"This is Admiral Samuel Lourdes of the FMS Czar Godric. My people and I are here on behalf of the Free Malvad Movement. We have come to ask for assistance in our revolt against the tyrant Ronald Vicci. As a major power in this region and a proud supporter of freedom and democracy we thought LibertarianLand might be willing to help." Always good to say they're powerful and like freedom. It makes many a country proud.

"Please cease all further movement until I can inform my superiors. In the mean time, escort ships will be sent to your location."

"Thank you Admiral Killgalion." Lourdes switched off the screen. Hopefully everything would work out well.

Executive Council Chambers, Viccea

Vicci had called a meeting of his executive council. Present were his advisors, ministers, and Head of the Armed Forces. It was rare for everyone to be in the same room. Vicci only called such meetings during crises. The King raised his right hand and all talking ceased. The council took its seats.

"Councillors. My Kingdom is in a time of extreme national emergency. As you know the north of Malvad has been seized by terrorist rebels. They wish to see an end to my rule. I need every contingency we have, every plan, every possibility." The King was rather calm for the situation. His rage had most likely gone to a point so high that he appeared to be calm while in his mind he was executing half the population. You know, the normal kingly thoughts.

The room was eerily silent. No one was sure how to proceed. "Well? I'm waiting you half-wits."

A minister rose. "Your Highness, we could firebomb the North."

Another minister stood. "What? Are you crazy? We should send in our best troops."

"NO!"

"DEATH TO THE TRAITORS!"

"YOU'RE WRONG!"

The room had erupted into yelling. Nothing could be heard but bits and pieces of incomplete shouts.

The King suddenly stood. "SILENCE!" he boomed, "Unless any of you has a legitimate idea that makes sense, sit down!"

The council sat back down, quiet and defeated. Nadal remained standing. "I have a plan Your Highness."

A minister stood back up. "Do you Miss Scarface? Well I'm sure-" He didn't get a chance to finish. Nadal had already thrown a knife and wedged it into his skull. The minister slumped back into his seat. The other ministers remained silent.

The King sat down. "Excellent Nadal. He was bothering me anyway. Now your plan?"

"Yes Your Highness. I began the implementation immediately after I returned to Viccea. I tracked down the criminal Slothgard that the Legis wanted. I brought him under our command."

"And how does this help us Nadal."

"The rebellious navy has left for LibertarianLand. Their goal is to gain the assistance of the Libertarians. I placed Slothgard and two of my men on the command ship. Slothgard has assumed the identity of Benjamin Clifton, a deceased navy commander. Slothgard, once in LibertarianLand, will assassinate the Libertarian President. It will look like the rebels killed him. The Libertarians will have no choice but to destroy the rebels."

"Excellent Nadal. How did you convince Slothgard?"

"The usual ploy of money and freedom. Of course he will no doubt die. That will further ensure the support of the Legis. LibertarianLand will think rebels killed the President and Legington will think Slothgard was working for the rebels. And if Slothgard tries to escape my agents will take him out."

"Thank you Nadal. Much better than this pack of swine could have done. This plan shall work perfectly. In the mean time send forces to the rebel border. Secure the entire zone. Don't let a single person into the South. Shoot on sight. Shoot to kill. Dismissed."

The Libertarians were preparing the Rebels for when they board their ship. While this is happening, a clever Legi remains incognito.

'It's good to be a rebel. Or terrorist. I haven't figured out what I am yet.' Slothgard thought to himself. 'Seriously, even that grumpy scar chick wanted me to cause a little chaos. I probably would have done it if she just asked, but it's good to get paid for the things you love.'

Slothgard tapped the board near his station. The adrenaline inside him just kept rushing harder and harder, it became almost impossible to hold his excitement.

'No, if I blow it now, I won't get a chance to kill Mr. President. I never killed one before. Well, I tried. Kind of failed. Oh well. She was too guarded for her own food.'

The soldiers from Libertarianland began unlading themselves onto the ship.
'Alright, just got to keep up this disguise for a while. Law number three, conceal your intentions. Can't wait to cause some trouble.'

Presidental Retreat 75 miles from the Capitol

Admiral Killgalion stood in a secured sound proof room to take the call on his secured phone. The only other soul nearby was the Special Services agent currently assigned as his bodyguard. The rest of the party, The President, Vice President, their chiefs of staff Christopher Dale Allen and Phillip Hollister, The Foreign Affairs Secretary Madam Victoria, and the Secretary of Defense Johnny Venture were meeting with the visitors from Malvad.

The Admiral was just finishing up his deployment orders.
"How soon can the Kestrel be resupplied and meet up with the Libertas Carrier group?...two days great, I want the Kestrel reassigned temporarily to Carrier group Alpha, tell Captain Scott that Captain Killgalion is still in charge of the group. Also, I would like 3 Amphibious Assault Ships and 2 LCS's (Littoral Combat Ships) assigned to the group just in case we need to put our marines boots on the ground. We are not at war or any hostilities with anyone yet and the President would love to keep it that way. As far as he is concerned it is for the citizens of Malvad to decide, he is just doing this to appease the other World Assembly nations. I want that carrier group to stay at least 200 miles from Malvad, I know we don't have to worry until 15 miles as that is their sovergn territorial waters but we don't want to provoke tensions."

The Admiral paused and then continued speaking "I want the Nightstalker and the Grimtar to remain radio silent I don't want anyone picking up their location I want it to be a surprise if the Grimtar has to breach to deliever a cruise missle to someone I don't like what those Fenichians are up to they are plotting something. I really hope my instincts are wrong on that one." The Admiral took a breath and barked out his final orders. "Finally, I want the Lovejoy and her battle group to be on alert. They are doing joint training exercises off the coast of The Republic of Astana. Tell Rear Admiral Thompson that I am reassigning 2 Amphibious Assault Ships and 2 LCS's to his battle group; and tell him to be prepared in case he has to make a break for the Southern Malvadian coast. That way we have 2 carrier groups operating in the area. 1 in the North and 1 in the South. Got all of that? Good. Carry out my orders." The Admiral disconnected the call and walked out of the room being followed by his bodyguard to join the conference already in session.

Admiral Killgalion walked into the room. "Sorry Mr. President." He looked over at Admiral Lourdes and his assistant Private First Class Clifton "Admiral.."

Admiral Lourdes spoke in his heavy Malvadian accent "No problem Admiral Killgalion, I understand Naval business is very important."

Admiral Killgalion turned to President Washington and as he was taking a seat at the table asked the President what he had missed.

The President sat his latte down and looked at Killgalion " Well Admiral..the Admiral here.." President Washington was interrupted by Admiral Lourdes "Please Mr. President, call me Samuel." The President smiled "Very well SAMUEL, You can also call me Paul. Anyway Admiral Killgalion, Samuel over here was trying to get me to commit Libertarian forces to help his group liberate Malvad from King Vicci."

The President looked straight at Admiral Lourdes "Now, Samuel, as long as you and your men are here please enjoy the hospitality of our country, however The World Assembly has been trying to get us to move off our Abstain on the Malvadian Liberation attempt and have been unsuccessful. I really do sympathize with you and your people but sorry, No is the answer. LibertarianLand is neutral and must stay out of other countries private affairs. This escalation is between you and Vicci and does not concern us."

"Lord-hood! Forgive the intrusion."

Gregory turned to the open door, which showed colonel Svaldir with a handful of letters.

"You may come in." Gregory said. While it was meant to be a joke, it was said with such disdain that it could have been mistaken for a grumble.

"Sir, this is very important. We managed to intercept some transmissions that were coming near LibertarianLand."

"Excuse me?"

"Sir, a Rebel ship left and we're pretty sure they're headed for LibertarianLand for assistance."

"What makes you so sure? It wasn't even your job to track so close to other countries."

"Sir, we don't know if Slothgard is attempting anything at this moment. It was an act of caution. But I have no doubt that the Rebels will ask the Libertarians for help."

"Let me see those." Svaldir handed Gregory all of the documents. He first looked for clues on Slothgard. None that would be useful at the least. However, the colonel was right. The rebels will ask for help.

"The question is will the Libertarians help them."

"Sir, if Vicci finds out about this we can work around it."

"Is that so?" Gregory asked. It would definitely be useful to have a possible load lifted off the Legi forces, but Gregory doesn't want to put the Rebel's lives in danger for a silly assumption.

"Sir?"

"Yes?"

"What is your decision?"

"Actually, may I ask you something?" Gregory asked while walking to the paper shredder.

"Of course, sir."

"Did our Tyrant get the message about the Libertarians saving some of our men?"
this day."

"Is that so..." Gregory said as he lowered the papers into the shredder.

"If you do that sir, you are putting our lives at risk."

"Son, I am at least fifty years older than you. I'm pretty sure I can gamble a bet if I know I can win it. The Rebels aren't our main threat, and Vicci hasn't put pressure on us to attack them yet. By presenting him this letter it will only provide him reason to attack."

"I hope you know what you're doing."

The colonel exited the room, closing the door behind him.

"Yeah," Gregory said to himself. "I do to."

July 7, 2014
Presidental Retreat Conference room
8:15 p.m.

"Mr. President. I understand you position, but consider the opportunity that you can unravel by assisting us. Malvad will be free from tyranny, and you will have the chance to further relations with us."

"That seems like a problem between the government and it's people. Understand I do feel sympathy, but we are put in a very difficult situation here."

Blah, blah, blah. That's all they're doing. That's all they've been doing for the last half hour.

Lets see here. What kind of man are you Paul? You obviously have an interest in your people. Maybe I could use that to my advantage. I can't cater to these rebels. It will probably just make things more difficult.

Sorry, scar lady. I could kill the President and give your government an advantage, or I could persuade the President and create a full scale war that would continue for at least a few months. That should give me enough time to further my plan.

"Um, excuse me Mr. President. I hope you don't mind me intruding."

"What is your name, son?"

"I'm Clifton, sir."

"You're too formal. Call me Paul."

"Of course. I understand why you won't assist the rebels, but I'm not convinced you don't want to. Your strong country is a symbol of political and military power, and is a prime example within the North Pacific. You lead your country with a firm yet gentle hand, guiding the citizens to a brighter future through a safe and democratic society. But people like Vicci don't want to accept that future. They have potential, but waste it on improving their own selfish lively hood. Democracy is dying because of people like Vicci. He is trying to destroy a future you are building with your own hands, along with the people that came before you, and those that will come. Even those Fenichians are under a dictatorship as well. It is only a matter of time before their poisonous influence grows, and while your military is strong and courageous, the logistics these dictators will eventually grate at your country, and will continue to do so after century, after century, after century, until the very foundations you build you country on will be nothing but of legend. The World Assembly doesn't even know what's best for them. They need leadership. Someone to set an example. Someone like you. What say you Mr. Paul Washington, President of the Democratic States of LibertarianLand?"

OOC: I'm going to let Paul take over from here.

"Listen Mr. Clifton.." The President began, Slothgard was perspiring under this Malvadian Rebel Navy uniform, his palms were sweaty he had waited months to get this close to Libertarianland's President; he had taken a contract from an unknown woman simply known as 'scar lady' to false flag attack LibertarianLand and force them to pick a side, any side really. Slothgard wanted this to be over soon his back was acking with the weight of his suicide vest; that was a last ditch effort he didnt really want to die he had months of evil planning in the works but if he doesnt do something to get Washington to pick a side scar lady said they would kill his wife and daughter; if he does what they say he will get 1 billion dollars to go towards his schemes and his family back. No, maybe he can talk Washington into picking a side. Make him Help the rebels get rid of Vicci instead of posing as a Malvadian Rebel terrorist and forcing LibertarianLand to wipe the rebels off the map for Vicci.

"Mr. Clifton.." The President continued "...you are right I do value democracy and I would like to keep it I dont send brave young Libertarians off to fight in wars that arent our concern. Despite being in the WA we try to abstain from the Security Council matters we ARE NOT the policemen or nannys to the world. Vicci may be a dictator but he has not attacked us. Therefore as of now we see no reason to intervene. We mind our own business and everyone else minds theirs."

Just then the door to the conference room whisks open and in rushes several Special Services agents followed by the Presidential details chief agent in charge Mr. Rockwelle.

"Mr. President we have to remove you immediately.."

Slothgard gasped he had been caught he reached for the hidden ripcord on his wristwatch he could take the President and Vice President and at least two cabinet members out oh yes that would put a dent in the line of succession.

The President stood up "What is the meaning of this Mr. Rockwelle?"

"Sir the intelligence agency and federal investigators recently uncovered a plot on your life, there is reason to believe slothgard a famed legi terrorist may be heading to LibertarianLand or already here..sir please Now! We have Marine One ready to take you back to the capitol and put you in the safety of the PEOCC (Presidential Emergency Operational Command Center) we need to go NOW!"

As the President was being led out he turned to his V.P. Mr. Underwood. "FRANK! YOU ARE IN CHARGE OF THESE NEGOTIATIONS! DON'T LET ME DOWN"

Slothgard looked up took his hand off the cord this could work to his advantage. He hadnt been found yet but he needed to work fast. The V.P. Frank Underwood was a bit more hawkish and more pro interventionist maybe he could convince him to help the rebels take down Vicci.

After things had calmed down and the President was safe in the air with Marine one, Frank Underwood turned to Slothgard and with the twang in his Southern LibertarianLand accent said:"Now Mr. Clifton, before we were so rudely interrupted....you were saying?" The V.P. brimming with a smile toward Slothgard/Clifton and Admiral Lourdes.

President Washington sat at the large table flanked by his security personnel, and essential advisors including his cabinet; minus the Foreign Affairs/Intelligence Secretary Paige Victoria and Defense Secretary Johnny Venture who were left back at The Presidential Retreat with The Vice President Frank Underwood, his Chief of staff Phillip Hollister and the Presidents Chief of staff Christopher Dale Allen.

"Mr. Rockwelle, who exactly is this Slothgard? What risk does he pose to me? What the bloody hell is going on to find him? I want to return to my normal duties and not be cramped in here like a frickin sardine." He then turned to a comminications specialist "Get me a secured link to Frank I want to know what is being said in that negotiation, Now!"

The Seren was sitting at his desk, nervously twiddling his thumbs. Just then, the door slowly opened, and a voice was heard.

"Hello, Seren Andrew."

"Hello, Lead General Mattaus, please sit down", the General took up a seat at the Seren's desk.

"Do you know why I called you here, General?"

"No sir, I don't, but I expect it has something to do with Malvad."

"Yes, it does. General do you remember what the rebels in Malvad did 4 days ago."

"Yes sir, they took the northern area of the country. Quite impressive if you ask me"

"Indeed, it is.... General, yesterday Carla as rambunctious as she is, asked me to hold an Armed Intervention against the Malvadian Military. I told her I'll have an answer about it in a few days" The Seren stood up.

"I'm not going to have an intervention, General."

"Okay... Then why did you call me here if you weren't planning an Intervention?"

"Because, I was thinking of having a Black Ops mission into the country, send 2 subs to the rebels with supplies and weapons... unmarked of course. I will not hold an Intervention, but I will try to help."

"Sir, that's a very risky idea you have, are you sure it could work?"

"I know it is, and I'm not sure it will, but that tyrant Vicci has been in control of the country for far too long. You understand why I'd want to help?"

"Yes sir, I do."

"Good" Seren Andrew walked up to the General, "I'd like it if one of your squads would help with the mission, if that's ok with you?"

"Why of course, sir."

"Alright then", the Seren whispered to General Mattaus, "And if you see anyone acting suspicious, contact me as soon as possible, and if you'd be so kind, don't tell Carla."

"Yes sir."

"Good, get a team to start loading the subs and start assigning members for this mission, I want them ready to sail by 2:00 PM tomorrow. I'm willing to send aid but I refuse to get involved in this, make it as discrete as possible. Now, you are excused"

"Sir yes sir"

The General walked off.

"Thank you Mr. Vice President. Malvad is in your debt." Lourdes was overjoyed. The Vice President was very supportive of the rebels cause. He was willing to commit at least a few military advisors. Any help was good help.

"Well Admiral, I'm not sure how the President will react to this. But I am sure he will understand. Eventually."

Just then the Presidential satellite link was established. A screen in a wall turned on. "It's about time! You call yourself a Presidential tech crew. My grandmother could do better than you."

"Paul, we can hear you."

"Oh. Yes. Well how goes the negotiations?"

"Quite well Paul. I have promised some advisors to the Malvadian rebels."

"WHAT!?!"

Admiral Lourdes stood to speak. "Mr. President, you must understand that we are in dire need of assistance. You might not believe you should help us. But your officials do. They want to help. Your nation stands for freedom. Your nation is supposed to oppose tyranny in all forms. And only a tyrant refuses to assist against tyranny. Are you a tyrant Mr. President?"

"No I am not. But I am not the policeman of the world."

"I'm not asking you to be. Just to help when help is asked for."

The President seemed to ponder for a moment. "I shall consider your words Admiral. Washington out."

The Admiral smiled. "I guess it could've been worse."

Forward Command Center, 80 miles south of Malvadiana

Nadal stood on a balcony. In the distance she could see the Central Mountain Range. In there was the city of Malvadiana. It stood right on the border between north, south, east, and west. It was built as a symbol of unity. It was meant to be a new capital but the city was never finished. The rebels had captured the empty city three days previously. Nadal needed to take it back.

An assistant came running onto the balcony. "Commander! Word from your agents in LibertarianLand."

"Good news I hope. Haven't had any in a week."

"My apologies Commander. None to report. Your agents believe Slothgard has gone rogue. The Libertarians know he is in country. They've lost communication with him and is assisting the rebels in negotiations."

"GAHHHHH!!! Never trust a Legi. Send word that they are to silence him. And the President. Do whatever it takes."

"Yes Commander!"

"And send word to the King. Tell him I am beginning the assault. The North will be ours soon."

"Yes commander!"

The assistant quickly ran off. Nadal smirked. The time had come. Nadal grabbed her radio. "Captain Flind, move your troops toward Malvadiana. Burn the city. No one is to be left alive."

"Yes commander!"

The order was given. Now the war kicked into high gear.

Minister Winters sat at the head of the meeting table. In front of him sat the Council of Revolution, comprised of the top members of the revolution. Commander Vigil and Admiral Lourdes were off on their missions. The remaining members ranged from commanders to officials to civilians. This was only the second meeting since the start of the revolution. Much had to be discussed causing the meeting to run late into the night.

"Only four items left everyone. We can go sleep soon. Item one: Commander Vigil and his forces have secured the city of Malvadiana. Although it was abandoned it is still an important symbol of unity. Praise be to Commander Vigil."

"PRAISE BE TO COMMANDER VIGIL!"

"Yes, quite right. Item two: We have secured access to Capt Pegleg Industries. They have promised us a naval contract for at least two years. We can begin negotiations at any time."

"CHEERS TO THE NAVY!"

"Thank you Councillors. I'm sure Admiral Lourdes will be pleased to hear that. Which brings us to item three: Admiral Lourdes is in negotiations with LibertarianLand for support. He has currently secured military advisors from the Vice President but has not gained consent from the President. Best of luck to the Admiral."

"BEST OF LUCK!"

"Yes, he needs it. The President is a tough one. Finally the last item. The nation of New Haven America has promised to assist us. Discreetly of course. Their General Mattaus has informed me they will be sending two submarines with supplies in weapons. This mission is strictly off the record. There can be nothing tying New Haven America to us. They leave at two in the afternoon. They should arrive by morning."

"CHEERS TO NEW HAVEN AMERICA! CHEERS TO MALVAD!"

"Thank you Councillors. This meeting is adjourned."

The Councillors left swiftly, hoping to gain as much rest as possible. Minister Winters stayed behind. He hit a switch and the table became a large digital map of Malvad. He began to examine the border. He looked closer and saw something red moving. He zoomed in towards Malvadiana.

"No! I must warn Sans!"

Somewhere on the North-South border

The former General Karn moved swiftly up the hill. A small stream flowed to his right. A forest stood at his left. And behind him were Royal Guards. Karn knew that Vicci would want his head. And now he had come for it. Karn reached the top of the hill. He could see a small new fence roughly 200 yards away. That must be the border, he thought, I can make it.

Karn sprinted down the hill and could hear guards shouting. He kept sprinting and was halfway to the fence. Then he turned around. Less than 50 feet behind him were three Royal Guards. They were selected for their athletic skill, their strength, and their brutality. If he was caught, Karn had no chance of survival. He was almost there.

But the guards were nearly at him. Without thinking Karn dove for the fence. He closed his eyes and waited for the worse. He heard three gunshots...

But Karn was still alive. He stood up and turned around. The guards lay dead on the ground. He turned back around to see a gun in his face.

"Alright mate. Who are ya?"

"Don't shoot!"

Legi HQ "Spirit", Vienna

"So, our forces weren't able to secure Malvadiana?" Gregory asked the General Dimitrov.

"Sorry sir. We couldn't take it without engaging in a conflict with the Rebel soldiers. It was your orders..." Dimitrov said before being interrupted.

"I know what I said. Good job. Make temporary camps about thirty miles away from the city, just until I figure our if I should put you in Vienna or Viccea. I'll meet you there when I make a decision."

"Of course sir. Anything you ask. I'll give frequent reports while I'm out there."

Dimitrov left to leave Gregory to his thoughts. Vienna is pretty fortified as it is, plus there is naval support if needed. Viccea is a stronghold city, so it doesn't need the extra defense. Although some forces might be needed to maintain order, that way Vicci can take his mind off the civilians (and Legi's) for a time being.

Gregory rubbed his eyes after a long hard look at both digital and paper maps. He's getting far too old for this. While not as old as Elsa, he's old enough to retire and think about supporting the grand kids he has now.

All of his thoughts were interrupted by Mushido.

"Sir! Forgive the intrusion, but this is far too important." Mushido stated, almost out of breath. We picked up some Malvadian transmissions. They're saying Slothgard is at LibertarianLand."

If Gregory had a cigar in his mouth, it would have hit the floor by now. Whatever news that involves Slothgard is bad. Any news that involves Slothgard and another country might as well be like saying "Macbeth" in a movie theatre.

"How fast can Admiral Thnir get his forces mobilized?"

"He's the one that picked up the transmission. He's on standby waiting for you to give your thoughts."

"Listen here. I want Thnir to do everything in his power to catch this guy. Board the ship by surprise, send them a warning, anything that doesn't involve killing them. I don't want to cause more trouble for my forces over here."

"Yes sir." Mushido almost made it out of the room before a soldier bumped into him.

"Sir!"

"Oh, Holy Goddess, damn the one that..." Gregory looked over to see who interrupted his chance of some peace.

"What is it boy?" Gregory barked.

The soldier stood at attention without hesitation. "Sir, Malvadian forces are mobilizing their armies. They're heading for Malvadinia."

Gregory froze. He didn't intend for Vicci to engage the Rebels so soon. And of all places Malvadinia...

"Has Dimitrov left the base yet?" Gregory barked.

"No sir, he should be..."

"Tell him to wait for me. Mushido, you're in charge of the base while I'm gone."

Mushido stood looking as confused as ever. "Where are you going?"

Gregory took out his field coat and hat as he scurried to the door. "A battle's afoot. Dimitrov will need the extra willpower to hold up against Vicci and the Rebels. Is the city populated?"

"No, it's abandoned." the soldier informed.

"Good. That'll make our job easier. And Mushido, tell Thnir I approve of the decisions he makes. I doubt he wants to start a conflict between the Rebels just yet."

LibertarianLand

Hook, line, and sinker. Slothgard felt he played the president like a fool, and in his mind that made him feel very glad. Almost ecstatic.

Soon the Libertarians will assist the Rebels, Vicci's forces will attack the rebels and the Legis will be forced to fight. And who knows, maybe more nations will join the fight.

In Slothgard's mind, the only thing that could make him feel better is if HMS Unicorn invaded McMasterdonia. That would be a battle to live for, thought Slothgard.

But he must remain vigilant. The scar lady the contacted him doesn't appear to be a push over, and the way she talked to him before definitely indicates she's a woman of rank and power.

'Probably used to getting her way.' Slothgard thought. 'Wonder if she's a dominatrix. Oh well, it doesn't matter. She will definitely find the time to say "hello" to me again. Well, guess what lady? I'm not that easy to kill. Just ask Gurgen that. You're gonna have to learn that you need to work for your meal rather than depend on others.'

A town-hall in a city of NE Malvad, headquarters of Rebel Erwin August's Eastern Command.

"Erwin? You're gonna want to hear about this."

Erwin August excused himself from a discussion he was having with a battalion commander and went to his radioman.

"What is it?"

"Well, we've just had a report of activity of Vicci's Royal Guard near one of our outposts. We killed a couple but an unarmed man claiming to be a former general of Vicci's has surrendered to us. The Guard fought briefly but backed off once we had the man behind our lines. In addition, Vigil reports enemy troops moving on Malvadinia."

"Vigil will hold, in the meantime Vicci is capable of anything and any plot. This 'surrendered general' may very well be part of some sort of ruse. I want that man thoroughly searched and questioned. Then bring him to me. This could be very valuable intel. What's the general's name?"

"Uh, 'Karn' from the looks of it."

"Now that is interesting news..."

"Sir?"

"Don't worry about it, Dan, just get that man searched and to me. Quickly."

"Sure thing, boss."

The meeting was over, the rebel admiral and his crew was on his ship sailing back home. The Presidential Staff were back, The President still in the PEOCC until Slothgard was found alive or dead. Little did the President know he would soon get an early release from this underground bunker; Slothgard would be found blown into bits and the President would be sending the might of the Libertarian Military to aid the rebels much to his dismay.

At the same time:

The rebel Admiral Samuel Lourdes was back on his ship he was on the flight deck of his old carrier and he flipped the collar on his pea coat up took a drag from his cigar. The rebels were heading home after soliciting help from LibertarianLand; some military advisors were better then nothing.

The Admiral wondered what happened to Private First Class Clifton he seemed to dissapear right after the meeting. Ah well he thought I told Clifton I saw great things for him and who could blame a young handsome bloke like him -- if the Admiral was younger and not dedicated to the cause he would dissapear himself in the great democracy of LibertarianLand and start a new life. Admiral Lourdes wished all the best to Clifton. Little did he know Clifton was Slothgard and Slothgard was about to do something to give the rebels more then just 2 military advisors.

1:35PM
Capitol District near the Legislatures building

Slothgard had shed his rebel navy uniform and now was clad in traditional clothing from Malvad. He had been running from Nadal's people he knew scar lady would soon be sending people after him but not this soon. He still had his suicide vest strapped to him. The Malvads were gaining on him. Slothgard was tired of running -- he had an idea that would take the Malvads to hell with him along with the entire North Pacific.

Slothgard with the Malvads loyal to Nadal and King Vicci gaining on him quicky dashed into the legislators building and hopped past the security turnstyle and body scanning machines. The Malvads pulled their weapons to aim on Slothgard and the Capitol police aimed their assualt rifles at the Malvad loyalists. Slothgard stopped outside the empty office building of Harrison Reeder Speaker Pro Tem of the Senate. Turned to the Malvads smiled and pulled the ripcord. A violent explosion ripped through the legislation building -- taking Slothgard, King Vicci's men, and a few Capitol Police to hell together.

1:40PM
PEOCC

"Sir!!!!!" Rockwelle busted in, "Mr. President....The Legislation building....it....it....it has just been attacked. Preliminary reports suggest it was Malvad loyalists loyal to King Vicci!"

Through gritted teeth the President let out an esaporated sigh. "Rockwelle, get me Admiral Kilgallion on the phone...I need to know how fast the Libertas and Kestrel can begin flying combat bombing missions...and to get the lovejoy up on Malvads southern coast...then get me King Vicci! I have much to discuss with him."

"Yes Sir!" Rockwelle said as he went to establish the satilite link with Admiral Killgallion.

The PEOCC
3:30PM

The President had got off the phone after a 20 min phone call with Admiral Killgalion and green lighted bombing runs to begin at midnight followed shortly after by naval bombardment of the shoreline and cities loyal to Vicci. He would send the Marines in later and possibly scramble some Army Paratroopers - King Vicci had attacked soverign Libertarian Soil - it was Harrison Reeders office and he hated that Nanny Party prick; but still. He would take King Vicci down single handedly if he had to and install a Democratic government with the rebels.

Then he was on the phone til just barely 10 mins ago with King Vicci himself sharp words and accusations and threats abound - the conversation was ended abruptly with both countries declaring war on the other. If Slothgard was still alive he would be proud.

To compound the issue a contengent of Legi soliders had just landed and wanted to track Slothgard down - The President sent Rockwelle to construct a joint Libertarian-Legi taskforce to find him.

The President also had just been briefed on the damage -harrison reeders office was in ruins it served the prick right. No one killed thankfully except 4 Malvad nationals (3 of Nadals men and Slothgard in disguise) and 6 Capitol Police officers. - He was looking through the reports when he noticed a capitol police report with DNA analysis of the terrorists. One sentence struck him as odd -- it said one Malvad national had legi decent in him. SLOTHGARD!!! It had to be. When Rockwelle got back he would show him and get out of this god forsaken PEOCC and back in his office with a latte. And he would let the legi soliders stay on their wild goose chase. No one would be the wiser; after all since declaring war on Vicci he couldnt back down now lest be seen as a coward to the region. Finally he picked up the phone and dialed the WA ambassador from LibertarianLand and ordered him to change his Abstain vote to an Aye to liberate Malvad.

Mushido answered the phone

"General Mushido. How may I help?"

"Mushido? This is Admiral Thnir. Where's the Lord-hood?"

"Lord-hood Storm is away at the moment. He accompanied General Dimitrov to reorganize his forces."

"That's problematic. Would you mind doing a me a favour then?"

"What is it Admiral?"

"We tracked Slothgard down. Libertarian civil forces claim Slothgard died in an explosion, and are willing to cooperate in regards to the body."

"I'll inform him when he comes back. Mushido out."

Slothgard dead? That really is news. Of course Thnir has to confirm the body, but wow. He might actually be dead.

Looks like Legington doesn't have to be in Malvad anymore. Gregory is definitely going to be interested in this.

T-minus 7 hrs until Operation Gallant Thunder begins

After the President was able to show Rockwelle the inteligence reports that Slothgard was dead Rockwelle loosened the Emergency protection order and allowed the President to return to his office. The President was not sure at first how he could use the information to his advantage. He had already Insulted and threatened King Vicci - backing down now would make him look like a coward. Having Slothgard there with the other Malvad nationals complicated things at first....then the President thought..we don't actually know why he was there. He very well could have been assisting Vicci's men. I was told *I* was the target maybe this was plan B.

In any event the President planned to go ahead and help the rebels overthrow Vicci after all there *were* 3 Vicci loyalists with Slothgard.

The President had an idea on how to get Legington to make it up to LibertarianLand for one of their citizens committing terrorism on their soil.

The President called the Legi leader Gregory and guilt tripped him into helping LibertarianLand. For saving their sinking ship and for Slothgards attack the Legi forces will help with the Malvad invasion. They don't have to run combat ops if they don't want to but the Legi navy will run a blockade of the Malvadian ports and run interdiction routes to keep other countries from running supplies and weapons to Vicci's men.

Malvadiana

The Armed Forces had begun their attack at dawn the previous day. They quickly overwhelmed the defenses and secured the southern half of the city. From there it had become a siege. There was constant mortar fire and shelling. Commander Vigil was only able to prepare his troops thanks to Minister Winters' warning. Without it the entire city would have fallen.

Vigil was based in an unfinished office building in the northern part of the city. He stood in a conference room with his two captains looking over different strategies. A small screen turned on in front of them and Minister Winters appeared.

"Minister, please tell me you have good news."

"Yes and no, Commander. We have secured full support from LibertarianLand. Apparently some Legi terrorist and some Loyalists destroyed part of their legislatures building. They have given the one vote the World Assembly needed for a liberation. They are also using the situation to gain Legi support for us. And submarines from New Haven America have arrived in Trident with supplies and weaponry."

"Why no good news then?"

"Well, the President of LibertarianLand and Vicci have declared war on each other. The Libertarians are invading at midnight. They have not asked for our consent and the situation is very heated. The nation will be completely destroyed."

"There must be a way around this."

"That's why I called. The New Haven Americans are in Trident. Admiral Kilgallion will be there soon. And the Legi Lord-hood is heading to Trident to meet him. I need you as our Commander to meet with all of them and take charge. You must assert that all operations go through us. We are not some third-world backwater they can just march into. Dictatorship or not, we are a major power and a modern nation. This is our nation. Make sure they understand."

"Yes Minister." The screen switched off. Vigil turned to his captains. "Make contact with Erwin August. Notify him that he is needed in Malvadiana and will be acting commander until I return.

"Yes sir!"

Vigil quickly left to go see if they still had one working plane. He needed to be in Trident fast and would be killed easily if he went by land.

War Council Chambers, Viccea

"This is a disaster! We are at war with LibertarianLand! All because of your agent, Nadal!"

The King sat in front of his War Council. Nadal was on a screen at the end of the long table. She was currently at the forward command center near Malvadiana.

"With all respect Your Highness, he was a rogue Legi terrorist. My agents tried to stop him-"

"And then the legislatures building blew up! It was a terrible plan from the start!"

"This 'terrible plan' had your blessing Your Highness! You consented to it! The blame is with you too!"

"How dare you talk to your King that way! I am the reason you are where you are! Without me you would be nothing!"

"And I thank you for what you have done. But your failure to control the people has led to your demise."

"My demise? You may notice I still sit on this throne!"

"Really? Well I must have timed this wrong."

"What?"

Suddenly a figure swooped down from the ceiling. They grabbed the King's head and snapped his neck. The figure stood. It was Nadal.

A minister stuttered, "But..but..but you're on the front lines."

"Body double, dear man, body double. They come in handy. Only my allies have them of course. Vicci never thought of it I'm afraid. And neither did you."

More figures jumped from the ceiling. Within 20 seconds the War Council was dead. Their throats were slit. The figures took their seats at the War Council.

"Thank you all. Now that the coup is done, time for the formalities. I guess I'm Queen now. But I think I would prefer to be addressed as...Your Grace."

The President had gotten word from long range satilite communications from Admiral Lourdes that the rebels were uneasy about the war decleration between The Libertarians and King Vicci. What they don't understand is the Navy plans are a surgical strike only on key loyalist positions. The Navy Pilots plans are to bomb Vicci Loyalist strongholds and provide air superority to the rebel forces. The Naval ships will provide bombardment of key Loyalist positions. He hopes that will be enough to allow the rebels to waltz in and gain complete control. The President has no intentions of destroying the country. The Marines are nearby but The President hopes he wont have to actually put them in country. The Legi are sending ships to cut off supplies to King Vicci's men - hopefully they should be at their stations by early morning. Admiral Lourdes has relayed a message to the President to request Admiral Killgalion of the NHCHQ (Naval High Command HQ) to meet with Rebel Leaders and NewHaven supply troops and their Admiral in Trident to discuss these misunderstandings futher. Admiral Kilgalion is leaving the Capitol now and being flown by Cargo plane to Aurora Orb and then onto a Sea Stallion chopper which will be refueled midair and finally landing on The Kestrel Aircraft Carrier which is in theather of operarions with the Libertas carrier battlegroup. All in all an 8 hour journey. Then flown by chopper into Trident another 45 min flight. All in all Admiral Kilgalion should be discussing things with the rebel forces at 0630. Well after Gallant Thunder has commenced.

There has also been reports of al alleged coup' coming from Malvad. The President thinks real hard about changing the mission time to strike now while Malvad loyalists are in a state of confusion.

What he should do is order the GrimTar to surface and deliever a cruise missle strike right into the Malvad Royal palace and let the Rebels waltz in and take over. But that would take all the fun out of it now wouldnt it?

Just off the coast of Northern Malvad

The two subs the Seren sent to Malvad were approaching the coast of Northern Malvad. General Mattaus had just woken up and stepped into the bridge of the first sub.

"Good morning everyone, anything to report?"

Admiral Carzac spoke up "Yes sir, we're approaching Northern Malvad, we should make land in a few hour's."

"Alright good, any word from the Seren?"

"Yes sir, he said when we make land we should ask the rebel leadership in the area if they'd need anything else."

"Anything else Admiral?"

"No sir, that was it."

"Alright, let's hope this mission works." The Lead General sat next to the Admiral.

"Yes General, lets hope."

6:00 PM
Trident, Malvad

The first sub had landed and preparation for unloading the supplies had started. The second sub was just about to make land. Just then, the first sub started opening it's front containment passage. The sub was met by Admiral Kilgallion and his rebel party. The Lead General and Admiral started out of the sub with supplies being unloaded.

"Hello Admiral Kilgallion, I am Lead General Anthony Mattaus."

"And I am Admiral Ross Carzac. Pleased to meet you." Both shook hands with the Malvadian admiral.

"Oh thank Flem you arrived" said Kilgallion, "just in time too."

"Any update on the situation?" Carzac asked.

"Yes, the Royal Military has started going to the North-South divide, and the Libertarian's declared war on Vicci. The situation is dire and we are so thankful for these supplies."

"Well, the Police of the World have done it again" General Mattaus joked, "At least we're not the only one wanting to take down Vicci." The General turned watch the second sub make land and start unloading. "Tent's, packaged food, water, sleeping bags, head flashlights, mobil vehicles to carry supplies and soldier's, helicopters, mini drones, bombs, ammo, and guns, anything an army could ask for. Though are you sure your soldier's know how to use this weaponry, it's some of the most technologically advanced in the world."

"Don't worry General, I've been around TNP and seen some great weaponry, and I trust my men"

"Alright Admiral, we trust you."

"Now I should wait for the Legi Lord-hood delegation."

"Of course Admiral. Though the Seren did have a question, he wanted to know if you needed anything else from us?"

"I'll think about it General, tell him I said thank you for the offer."

"Okay." General Mattaus and Admiral Carzac walked into the sub.

Commander Vigil took one of the last available fighter jets. He would be in Trident within the hour. Hopefully he could secure rebel superiority among the different factions at war with Vicci.

The communications console started beeping. "Commander Vigil. This is Winters. Do you read?"

"Yes Minister. Loud and clear."

"Good. I've received clarification from the Libertarians. Their operation will provide us with naval and air support as we proceed south. Our soldiers will be the only ones one the ground."

"That's excellent news!"

"The Libertarians do have a marine unit available to deploy. I'm going to ask that they work with our men that take Viccea. Any assistance there is good. Also Admiral Kilgallion will be in Trident by dawn tomorrow. Discussion however is no longer needed. I will inform the Libertarians of such. I have a different mission for you now."

"Which is?"

"Erwin August's troops captured General Karn. He was fleeing from Royal Guards and was trying to cross the border. He has asked to join us. Vicci apparently threw him out in disgrace and wants his head."

"We could use Karn for intel. We'll need it to break through his fortress."

"Precisely. Make for August's camp and find out what Karn knows."

"Right away Minister. Anything else?"

"Yes, actually. We're getting strange reports from the Viccea. It appears that Vicci has been killed and Commander Nadal has claimed the throne."

"Highly unusual. Vicci is smarter than that."

"Yes. But we will find out when we get there I guess. Winters out."

"Vigil out."

Nadal was hard at work putting her face upon the country. "Let's see. I want a black, red, and yellow striped flag. Motto: The People Are Mine. Official title: Glorious Queendom. Change Viccea to Nadalia. Here is the list with rest." She handed a list to an assistant. "And I want my coronation by ten!" she barked.

Nadal called over another assistant. "I'm thinking of a title. Queen Natasha Nadal, Lady of Nadalia, Protector of the South, and Ruler of Malvad. How's that?"

"Perfect Your Grace."

"Yes I know. Now go away."

"Yes Your Grace."

"It is good to be the Queen. Now where is Commander Forrest?"

"Here Your Grace."

"Good. I've had enough of this rebellion. Send out our bombers. Level the Northern cities. Firebomb Tiraspol, Trident, and Malvadiana. Send our closest fleets to LibertarianLand. Begin bombing their cities. Destroy everything. Understood?"

"Yes Your Grace."

"Good. And fortify the capital! Nadalia will be impenetrable!"

"Yes Your Grace."

Nadal walked towards the Bolt Throne. She sat down upon it. "Move up the coronation. I want my crown now."

A man ran up to her. "I proclaim Natasha Nadal Lady of Nadalia, Protector of the South, and Queen of the Glorious Queendom of Malvad. Long may she reign."

"Long may I reign."

Unity Building, Legington, F.P.L.

There is one thing about Legi politics that always remains interesting, it's that the politicians always get heated over the littlest things.

"Prime Minister von Slu! You must listen to what I have to say!"

"Mistress Mushini, for the last time, keep your peace!"

"This is what we get for letting a Yulmarian as the Minister of Foreign Affairs." commented one of the other ministers.

"What did you say, you Sedonian swine? My people would have conquered yours if it weren't for those damned Tebwans!"

"Mistress Mushini! Watch your tongue or you will be charged for racial slur and abusing your responsibility of free speech!" shouted Petra Dominya, who was born and raised in the province of Tebwa.

"Forgive me, Mistress Dominya."

"We need to calm down," Prime Minister von Slu stated. "We aren't each other's enemy. The Libertarians and the Malvadians are a bigger situation that needs to be addressed."

"I say we pull out immediately." stated Susan Tyelo, Minister of Economics and Finance. "We spent some of our excess money buying ships from Pegleg Inustries preparing for a war that ultimately never came. Not that it mattered, since half of the fleet went missing!"

Minister of War Elsa Bjuren stood up. "It's not that it went missing. Some of the ships went to a different address and we're unable to trace the trail."

"Who's fault is that?" Tyelo mocked.

"Listen, you stuck up bigot! I personally wasted two and a half hours of my life getting permission to sign the papers, only to waste another hour signing them all!"

"Mistress Bjuren!" shouted von Slu. "And Mistress Tyelo, pick your battles properly. Yours isn't with the Minister of War."

"Forgive me."

"I don't like how LibertarianLand is blackmailing us." Mushini pointed out. "The government is disgracefully calling up old favours to make their life easier."

"It isn't against the law of either Legington or the World Assmebly." stated the Minister of Justice. "We just need to approach the situation with caution."

"I agree with the Minister." Mushini explained. "We don't want sour relations with LibertarianLand, as they have done nothing up to this point to harass us."

"Than I suggest looking at this from a different perspective." proposed the Minister of Education. "If we figure out what we should do with Vicci, than we can figure out with President Washington."

"Should I also remind you all the the only reason why we're in Malvad is because of Slothgard. Now that he's deceased there's no point in staying any more." stated von Slu.

"I agree." Mushino commented. "While it is important to maintain foreign relations with other countries, LibertarianLand has a larger population, military and economy that they can sustain themselves in a war."

The Ministers of Internal Affairs, Economics and War also agreed Legi forces should pull out of Malvad. The final decision rested in the Tyrant, Fredericka Gurgen.

"Tyrant Gurgen, what is your decision?"

"The government has spoken." Gurgen announced. "The armed forces will be removed from Malvad. If Washington has a problem with this decision, we shall discuss it under more suitable circumstances."

"What the hell are those Legis doing!" Washington shouted while viewing his map.

The map showed the Legington navy retreating away from Malvad.

"Get me connected with their admiral!"

The President's staff did everything in their power to get a clear connection. It wasn't after a few minutes an image appeared.

"This is Lord-hood Gregory Storm. Who am I speaking..." Gregory said before being interrupted by the President.

"Listen here, Storm. I suggest you call back your fleet now. We had an agreement."

"We had no agreement. You called in favours and expected to play off our good will. While the majority of the force is gone, no doubt to your completely uncalled for incivility, I am staying for my own reasons. And don't worry. My forces are enough to suffice for a blockade. Oh, and Mr. President, I suggest you address me as Lord-hood from now on if you want to cooperate properly from here on. Storms out."

The President rubbed his eyes as the screen went blank. "Never trust a Legi."

The President was upset. He sat down at his desk and reached in the top shelf and pulled out a bottle of his favorite bourbon and poured some into his latte. He went to take a sip when his Foreign Affairs/Intelligence secretary Paige Victoria and the Defense Secretary Johnny Venture walked in. The President looked up "The Legis are pulling out, we save their ship and crew and one of their citizens blows up our legislature; I call in a little favor to make it right by asking them to run blockades for us and THIS IS HOW THEY BLOODY THANK US?" The President sighed. "I don't want a war with anyone else. I don't like war period. I wouldnt be conducting operations in Malvad if our legislature didnt blow up." He took another drink of his bourbon-latte concoxtion. "Any news to report?"

The Defense Sec. Spoke "Yes sir, apparently they rebels no longer need Killgalion they understand the operation."

The President Pondered for a second. "Ah let him still go it might give us a little goodwill "

Anything else?

"Yes." Spoke Paige Victoria the Inteligence Secretary "We have it on good authority that Malvad loyalists to this new leader Nadal are starting to launch bombers against the rebels in the north and are planing to send a carrier to us to start bombing the capitol."

The Preaident picked the bottle of bourbon up still sitting on his desk and took a big swig. "Contact kilgalion - have the kestrel scramble fighters to intercept the Malvad bombers, have the Libertas launch aircraft for bomb runs against loyalist targets -- the lovejoy do the same from the south. Tell our ships NOT TO LET ANY MALVAD MILITARY SHIPS OUT OF THEIR HARBORS! And DAMN those Legi! Send in our own blockade ships."

11:45pm
A local airstrip in NE Malvad.

Erwin August and essential members of his command staff prepared to board the transport plane bound for another airstrip just north of Malvadinia. Vigil was needed to deal with different tasks, namely Karn. August had been chosen as his successor in the defense of Malvadinia - and by extension Central Command - until further notice. Malvadinia was an essential objective, losing it would be a huge blow to the rebel cause. Though slightly nervous, August was confident in his abilities to defend the city. It seems like Karn was legitimate and his discussions with him had already been very interesting. "Vigil should gain invaluable intel from him." he thought.

He stood outside the transport plane while the personals of his command staff were loaded on board. Finally, the aide he had been waiting on pulled up in a commandeered sedan and approached him.

"These are my final orders for Eastern Command. Commander Albert Lanning will take over until Vigil gets here. I'm leaving Karn under guard at my old HQ in the town-hall. Lanning should lead from there and that's where Vigil will meet him to deal with Karn. I don't know whether Vigil will be taking over Eastern Command while he's here but Lanning should be prepared for the possibility that he doesn't. I will be contacting Winters once I get to Malvadinia and work on understanding just what foreign support we have, and how we can go about coordinating attacks and defense with whatever support we have. Lanning should do the same from here. Understood Lieutenant?"

"Yes, sir."

"Dismissed."

The aide returned to the sedan and went to deliver his orders. August watched the sedan drive away before boarding the transport plane. In a couple of minutes the plane was prepared to leave and he watched the rear door close and strapped in for the flight ahead. He thought briefly about the latest word from the South. Something was up down there within the leadership. "God knows what's going on down there but either way I feel this war is about to get really rather interesting." he said to himself.
"What was that, sir?" one of his command staff asked.
"Nothing, nothing. Just enjoy the flight."
"Yes, sir."

11:50 PM
City Central Hall, Tiraspol

The Council of Revolution was meeting in the Great Room. The Libertarian attack would commence in minutes. The Council had met to watch the map as the war progressed. Admiral Lourdes and Commanders August and Vigil were linked by video call.

Minister Winters stood. "Ladies and Gentlemen! I wish to congratulate us all on our current success. The Legis have pulled out and the Libertarians and New Haven Americans are supporting us. We have captured Tiraspol, Malvadiana, and Trident. General Karn has defected to our side. Vicci has been killed by Nadal. The monarchy is weakened. And now at the perfect time the Libertarians will help us strike!"

Suddenly the lights went out and the screens went black. The power was cut. The emergency power kicked in after a few moments. Lourdes' screen turned on but Vigil's and August's did not.

"Commander Vigil are you there? Commander August respond. Check the map. See what is happening!"

A minister switched on the map. "Sir! They're are planes! Hundreds of them! They're over Malvadiana. And over Trident. And..and over..Tiraspol."

"How is this possible? Contact the Libertarians! Admiral Lourdes contact Admiral Kilgallion! Inform them of the situation. Tell them we need help immediately. The South isn't important! We must protect the North!"

Planes could be heard overhead. Something else could be heard. As if something was falling...

"EVERYONE! GET DOWN!"

"Your Grace, we have begun bombing the northern cities."

"Excellent. Were they expecting it?"

"Not at all Your Grace."

"Excellent. And the Libertarians?"

"Our ships are not within bombing range yet Your Grace. But this has interrupted the Libertarian attack plans."

"Excellent. Now leave my sight."

"Yes Your Grace."

Nadal walked towards the war room. She came to the map of Malvad. Red dots appeared on it. She clicked a button and the map switched to LibertarianLand. There were dots on it too. She clicked another button. "Agents. What is the status on the targets?"

"Minister Winters was in Tiraspol."

"Commander August was in Malvadiana."

"You were right about the New Haven Americans. General Mattaus was in Trident."

"Admiral Lourdes is at sea."

"As is Admiral Kilgallion."

"Commander Vigil was in the skies."

"President Washington is under heavy protection in LibertarianLand."

"Lord-hood Storm defected. He was in Malvadiana."

"General Karn was with Commander Vigil."

Nadal smiled. "Thank you agents. Make sure your target is dead if they were in the cities. The bombing should end within two hours. If your target is well and alive make sure they are dead by midday."

"Yes Your Grace."

Nadal switched off the communications and turned off the map. She left the war room and proceeded to the throne room. She shut the large doors to it and sat upon the Bolt Throne.

"And now I have won."

Bunker somewhere in Malvadiana

Storm and his squad of Legi and Malvadian soldiers locked themselves in an old bunker they came across.

"So, this is how Nadal attacks a city?" Gregory said to aloud. "Absolutely no class whatsoever."

"Excuse me sir?" one of the Malvadians asked.

"There's a reason why I used to be one of the highest ranking military commanders." Gregory retorted. "I didn't get here through how much paperwork I did at my desk."

One of the Legi soldiers turned to Storm and the Malvad talking. "Sir, I know we are technically defected, but don't you think you should talk more formally? You still have a reputation to uphold."

"Good point lad, but in all honesty I'm getting too old for this. Fate has frowned on me and decided that I shouldn't be in this world for much longer."

"Sir..." the soldier said with an uneasy tone. All Gregory did was laugh and slap his shoulder.

"Relax! Not Nadal nor her bombs can get me until this fight is over!"

"We're with you a hundred percent!" the Legis shouted.

"You all are an odd bunch, if you don't mind me saying." a Malvadian said. "You help Vicci, then when that terrorist dies you're all supposed to leave. Only you guys stayed to help. Why?"

Gregory only made a fist and shot it in the air. "We are our own persons! We choose how we live and we will do so to our fullest so that our families, government and tyrant can live in a more acceptable world!"

It was quiet in the Seren's office, Seren Andrew was simple on the computer resting in his free time. Just then he heard a ringing, it was coming from the top of his desk. A small red dot was beeping, it was part of the closed government communication system, he pressed the button and a screen appeared.

"Ah, hello General Mattaus. Hello to you too, Admiral Carzac."

"Hello sir" they both spoke in unison.

"So, did the supplies arrive yet?"

"Yes, we're heading back right now", Said Carzac.

"Good. Now General, do you think the heads of Southern Malvad figured out you were there."

"Oh, I'm sure they did." Mattaus said happily, "Hell, I'd be if surprised if they didn't."

"Anything to report?"

"Yes sir", Carzac said, "The south was couped by one of Vicci's most trusted militant's: Natasha Nadal. Also we've caught a large reading of airplanes over the rebel's main cities, they're southern planes."

"Heh, those idiot's in southern Malvad must think I'm a fool, luckily we're safe."

"Safe" sir?" Mattaus asked confused.

"Yes, safe. You see, we only helped the rebel's, we never declared war on Malvad or picked a side. I simply gave help. She cannot declare war on us unless she want's the country to get a condemnation. Even if she did, Malvad's capitol city would burn and the rebels would win. Plus, I had our teams sneak in a little surprise in the supplies we sent them. Nothing big of course, but I'm sure Nadal will have a tricky time dealing with the rebels" The Seren said with a smile. "You did tell them I'd offer more assistance if needed, right Mattaus?"

"Yes sir, Kilgallion said he would be grateful if we could."

"Alright, keep me updated, we'll talk when you two get back."

"Sir yes sir!" they both spoke in unison.
