PWL 42 for Court Justice...

Im doing this on a whim with no thought put into it whatso ever while on lunch break at work.

Why elect me Justice?

Cause Im a rules lawyer with conviction

A work function hot dog eating champion.

I have mad reading comprehension skills and can read the text of the law and look at evidence objectivly and all relevent testimony and make a fair reasonable decision.

And depending on who has the most blackmail and extortion capabilities on me I will do whatever the Elugarchy/ IRCabal want.

Do you feel like you're at a disadvantage due to the lack of calling dibs on the role of justice on your part?

Probably. Among other reasons. While I am an active participant and generally a straight shooter I am also still newish. Only been here 3 months and have not broken thru and into the inner circle. So I do not feel I have the popularity to actually win a TNP Beauty contest...er uh election. Unless of course the electorate decides to give a fresh face an opportunity to excel.

Also I would like to note that I realize my choice of a weak attempt at humor in my OP may come off as I am doing this as a joke candidate/for the lulz. However sometimes I just like to use humor and lighten the mood as Patch Adams says laughter is the best medicine.

I would seriously like a serious go at this. And run a seriously honest campaign. Seriously.

So if anyone has any questions for me or any support for my campaign I do encourage you to post your questions or comments of support.

The reason for this special election is because love him or hate him Romanoffia resigned as Justice while facing a recall vote in the RA. For conduct during a recent trial. Admittedly I was away from the computer on a mini vacation with my IRL Girlfriend and was on a nationstates ban of sorts. (Would have been in bad taste not to pay attention to her and neglect her for a game) anyway so I personally did not pay close attention to that trial or how it ended. Though to my knowledge the AG is free to refile on JAL if he sees fit. This campaign is not an attack on Roman, I have no ill will towards him political, personal or otherwise. And so Im not commenting on that subject. But merely on my merits to objectionably look over law and evidence for the month or so remaining til the actual judical elections again. If I win this special election I have not decided yet if I will seek an actual term of my own in the actual judical elections.

Anyway as I said questions or comments are welcomed.

You should totes run for AG next time, like you wanted to some time back or something.

I think the incumbant chasmanthe will be stiff competetion if he seeks reelection.

As potential justice. I would like to see the AG more agressively pursue cases and shine light on criminal activity in tnp and safeguard our citizens.

please don't take this wrong, PWL. I will not be voting for you. Being a justice is in part about knowledge and application of the laws, and in part about maturity and wisdom. You do not come across as - yet - having the maturity to be a good justice. This may be about posting style, in which case i have misjudged you.

I am sure your time will come. But I do not think it is here yet.

Im pretty sure it is posting style I can be very mature when called for. And if elected Justice I would certainly use proper decorum in the court room.

That is exactly why I am running for Justice I feel our current court system lacks Decorum. I have been here since March and have witnessed two trials H&H and JAL. (While I did not watch all of the JAL trial) and my whole time here there have been jokes about how the court is a joke and no one can get convicted and the AG smells of elderberries.

If the Court of TNP is meant to be little more than troll bait or satire? Then fine fair enough. Or do we really want to hold folks accountable for violating TNP law?

I dont want to make things over complicated. But what I saw out of the JAL trial was a defense strategize to troll the case by submitting the same motions over again with different lawyers in attempt to make the justice pissed and get the case dismissed. Which is what happened.

We need stricter controls. I do support the current contempt of court proposals. While it is true the BOR says a defendant can have the defense counsel of their choosing. It doesnt say that counsel can troll the trial and be disruptive and hamper the process and deny their client their TNP due process.

Also, I am not opposed to bringing civil trials back if they can be streamlined and revamped and the process not be convoluted. Perhaps a seperate civil court with seperate justices can be created. Call them magistrates or something. Elect them like the criminal court Justices or allow them to be appointed by the delegate or justices or something.

That way the court isnt confusing by having criminal and civil jurisdictions and language intermingled.

Leave the current court in place for all criminal trials and create a seperate civil division.

Also, for Role Play purposes. I think the idea of a TNP Bar Association and a Public Defenders League to be interresting if it could be fleshed out more.

So if you want the court to continue to be a laughing stock vote for someone else. By all means.

But if you want someone who will fight for reform and give TNP court some teeth and make The TNP Courts be the most feared court this side of nationstates and make Mall and JAL think three times before trying to coup a region again. Vote for me.

It also bothers me we charge nations for committing crimes in other regions. Even if they reside in TNP. The Courts of TNP should only try crimes against TNP. If it happened in another region let that regions court try the accused in their jurisdiction.

Again, DECORUM is what we need. IF YOU WANT DECORUM I AM YOUR JUSTICE.

Vote for me if you want The court of TNP to stop being an extention of the Internetz court!

It was to make a rhyme. Do you take all poems/raps seriously? Historically there is usually slight lyrical embellishment.

Besides if elected justice and therefore actually being in a constitutionally mandated position. I would have to resign from at least one of those.
