Getting Ready to leave TNP

After Wham and Tim banned me from the IRC #TNP channel for RL political opposition to Obama, and the fact that Elu let them get away with it, I is with my deepest regrets and sorrow that I feel that I must leave The North Pacific to move on to another region.

Why? Because this region's government has become a farce. It is ineffective, it bends to the will of people who let RL political opinions rule the game. It is because you have a Delegate who bends to the will of those who seek to undermine him out of Politically Correct reasons and personal RL political opinions.

What I have experienced is censorship and the dictatorship of the few over the will of the many. I have witnessed the spineless cowering of those in power just to assure their reelection. I have witnesses the trashing of a life-long citizens of this region just to satisfy a Tim and Wham who have their own agenda contrary to the Delegate who they claimed to speak for and banned from #TNP for RL political beliefs.

As a warning to TNP: You had better clean your own house before those who have been here for 10+ years abandon the region because of garbage like this.

As for me, I will soon be leaving the region because I cannot stand the hypocrisy and constant clinging to bureaucratic minutia.

I saved this region from Gatesville who supported a rogue Delegate. I convinced Gates to withdraw from the region. I was also offered to be passed the torch of Gatesville and I refused. Now, I am almost sorry I did not take the offer.

It makes my heart ache to no end that I spend at least ten years in TNP to see it come to this. You people (and I mean the People) have thrown away your heritage, your freedom, your stability just for the sake of a handful of people who are pulling the wool over your faces. You have no freedom; only what your masters drop to you in the form of crumbs on the floor for you to pick up.

I am a true patriot of The North Pacific, but I cannot concur with the Delegate and his opinion to support my ban from #TNP on IRC because I disagrees with someone's RL opinions. This isn't free speech or freedom, It is dictatorship by Tim, Wham and Elu, their lapdog in robbing TNP of Liberty.

Given these recent developments. I am left with nothing more to do than to leave TNP and wait until it is liberated by its own citizens.

I have fought for this region since its creation and since the beginning of NationStates. I makes me ill that I must leave.

I give my special thanks to Great Bights Mum for her comradeship against Great Bight; Flemingovia for being Flemingovia; Tresville (who left for nearly the same reasons as I); and everyone else who had the freedom of this region as their goal.

My resignation of all government positions and my citizenship of this region shall be effective immediately.

My loyalty to this region shall be eternal.

Let The North Pacific be Free and if not, let it be liberated!

Whamabama doesn't like Obama either.

He banned you because you told him to screw himself after he warned you to stop offending people all over the place.
 
Indeed, let her be free forever. Sorry to see you go, Romanoffia. We weren't always on the best of terms, but you were indeed a TNP Patriot and I don't think anyone will ever sensibly argue otherwise.

I suppose a re-election is in order for the empty seat in the Co5, or perhaps the Co5 will just appoint someone to fill your spot.
 
I wish it hadn't come to this Roman. You love TNP, and I don't think you should resign or leave. I understand your feeling of frustration, but I urge you to reconsider.

Unibot has routinely told people to duck off (you know what I mean) but because it's outside the channel and forum it's fine? I don't see the logic in that. Although Unibot is just one example so we won't pick on him.

Although I also see he's already got his eyes on a Co5 seat. This doesn't surprise me. My prophecy is coming to fruition.

At any rate - regardless of our disputes Romanoffia it would be sad to see you go and I would much rather you take the time to think it over.

I will not run for cabinet. I think there are much better candidates for Internal Affairs than me and I'd rather Mahaj maintained his post as WA head.

Doing the whole "bash Unibot" thing here, really isn't necessary.

I have done nothing of the sort. NickServ says your nick has been registered since May 17th. It hasn't been deregistered.

Have you seen the exchange in #tnp that got Romanoffia banned from there?

And I don't see how you got that from Unibot's post.

That said I do hope Romanoffia reconsiders. I won't be accepting his resignation just yet.

As for unibot - how could you NOT get that from the post? The dust hasn't even settled yet and he's talking re-elections while the rest of us tell Romanoffia to think it over.

Oh well. Just have to hope Roman reconsiders.

As Mall said, he was warned. And the OP's present at the time believed a ban was appropriate, and while I wasn't present at the time, I fully agree with their decision.

There was no warning whatsoever. Wham booted me specifically because I criticized Obama. Tim stated that he would have done the same but 'wham beat me to it' and 'I couldn't find the ban button', etc.,,,

The problem here is that some people like freedom of speech as long as they agree with that speech. When they do not agree, they stamp all over that freedom and use all manner to tortuous reasoning to support their totalitarian attitudes and agenda. It's pathetic. God help TNP if the majority of people wake up and realize that simple fact.

Yup, in TNP,you are free to agree with whomever is in power. If you don't agree, you will be trampled under foot and it will be called Freedom.

And I'll tell you what the problem with TNP is: It always insists on a weak government that wanders around willy-nilly except when those who are in power decide they disagree with someone and then they walk all over that someone. The government is inept except for its ability to deliberately trample upon the rights they claim to promote, and does so at every opportunity under the guise of 'law' and the 'Constitution'. TNP is its own worse enemy and that's why it gets couped so often. And those coups always come from inside the government and are conducted by those who use the 'Constitution' as a tool for its own destruction. And until people here wise up to that fact, any government is just a sham until the next rogue comes along, and then everyone complains about their rights being violated. Yeah, their right to stamp on anyone that disagrees with then in game or in RL.

People in TNP complain about regions like GGR but I suggest that TNP take a good look at itself.

I've got logs too which I may publish in other forums beyond the scope of TNP Law just to see how those concerned like it. And ironically, TNP law says I can do that simply because it is not controlled by TNP law. How do you like them apples?

And if I do, certain people in this government will regret it and this government may not survive. In fact, I know it wont should I publish certain logs I have. Those logs will show what a farce is being perpetrated on this region by certain elements in the government.

I agree, I was banned because I cussed a nonTNPer out and because Finn doesnt like me. I know if I would have been there TIm would have kicked me to, as for the Eluvatar staements, I'll disagree. I hope you stay.

I was not warned and you know it. Tim kicked me the first time specifically because I criticized Obama. No warning that time, either.

Apparently free speech is dead when you cannot say anything that someone might disagree with or take offense at. I've got some news for you, sunshine, the world is an offensive place and someone somewhere will be offended by anything anyone says. I get offended all the time but do you see me wetting the bed and demanding censorship? No.

The problem here is that this region has become a sham. Everyone somehow thinks that Democracy means mob rule. All we need are a few feet of rope and it's called 'Democracy'. This region is governed by a lynch mob and a Delegate who bows to the lynch mob instead of standing up for free speech.
 
I'm writing up a very nice little editorial for the forum that will open up a few eyes to the fact that we aren't a Democracy. We are a lynch mob that silences anyone who doesn't go along with the mob du jure.

I guarantee it will be enlightening.

Roman, I've been kicked muted and banned from the chat room. My Free speech ripped from me by Finn and Abbey, I pleaded with Elu to let me back in. SO look, You can throw a fit because your Free speech was denied, but thatts what they(whoever banned you) Wants, more then likly it was a string operations(i cannot be certain) Just leave them alone, say yes or no and dont get into arguements, I figuered that out about 1-2 weeks ago, I have a much better life now.
 
It sounds like there may be some confusion between #tnp and the government. That channel is not owned by the government, and it is not under the auspices of this forum.

I've said it before, but what happens on #tnp ought to stay there. It's mere chat. Just because rising blood-alcohol levels contributed to a Saturday night brawl, doesn't mean the rest of us should have a headache the next morning.

The problem is that it spreads to forum, or should I say it starts in the forum and then IRC is used as a tool to destroy free speech and inflict censorship there and in the forum.

Judging from the communications I have received from any number of people, a lot of people outside TNP are quite irritated by what Tim and Wham did with the banning. In fact, I've had several offers from several regions to be either part of their government or Delegate. There seem to be a lot of former TNPers out there who left the region for precisely the same issues involving censorship and mob rule that is rampant around here.

That's the main problem. Little kiddies being power hungry and silencing anyone they disagree with in a flash. This is especially true when the victim of the lynching has something interesting on the, ;D

Flawed logic is flawed.

One of the reasons that we have many OP's is so we can have the channel moderated, hopefully, at all times.

Your idea, if used in the current line-up, would mean we have one active US OP, one active Aussie OP, and one active European OP. That would be Eluvatar, McMasterdonia, and Flemingovia. Grosseschnauzer and GBM, the other two admins, are not the most active IRC people in the world.

With our current system, it allows for new OP's to be appointed so as to better cover and moderate during the entire day. You must remember that with a limited number of OPs, you will have many times of absense due to work/school/etc. The system of many OPs per Timezone Area increases the probability that there will always be a channel operator on o moderate the channel from flaming/spam/etc.

You are incorrect. Government Position =/= OP. You have to earn #tnp OP, and I believe that every single OP in #tnp has shown that they deserve to an operator of the channel.

To further disprove your point, I'd like to point out Wham, Ananke, and Asta. Asta is a Foreign Envoy. Wham is a Citizen. Ananke is an RA member. None of them are Forum Admins in TNP nor are they Delegate/Vice Delegate/ Minister.

The fact that an Admin gets OP is also incorrect, as it it noted that Grosseschnauzer does not have OP status in #tnp.
