VZ's random postcard spree...

As promised, now the first postcard arrived I will explain what all this about.

Exactly one week ago, I started sending PM's to all the people in TNP that came to my mind, asking them to send me postcards.
The first thing that happened was of course a flood of PM's, with reactions ranging from "Sure, will send it out asap. :)" to "WTF??". Some reacted immediately, minutes after they received it, some after days or one week (today!). Some, though, never answered, which I find a tad impolite, worse even than a "WTF??". You know who you are, thank you.

How comes?

My flatmates and I were thinking about a way to brighten up and embellish our grey and empty kitchen wall, at which we have to stare every morning and evening. Besides, the kitchen is also supposed to be some kind of living room.
We thought about different ways to do it, and then decided to start a postcard competition. Who of us four will have the most postcards be sent to him within one month?

Today, the first two arrived, one from Mallorca from friends of my flatmate, and one of you TNP'ers.

Congratulations go out to MO! She has been very quick, despite being one of the last to have read my message she's the first to having it sent. A super-fast mail service, by the way, it took them only 4 days!

Thankee!

Many of you asked me what will be in there for them. Unfortunately, I had to answer them that there's absolutely nothing in there for anybody, as long as you don't give me some informations about yourself, for example your address. Then I will send you a postcard, too, if you want.

If anyone feels that her/his town should be represented on my kitchen wall, too, I heartily invite them to contact me via PM, I'll give them the address. :)

Thanks to you all.

P.S.: Perhaps we can start some sort of postcard mass movement?
Alright, most of you might be too prudent to tell some random person from the webs the RL address, I guess...

We should start a TNP Odd Pen Club. We did that at an old poetry site I used to post at. We'd pm each other our addresses. The idea was you could send any odd, random things you had around that would fit in a standard envelope (or a bigger one, if you felt like paying.) I got all sorts of stuff, from fishing lures to an old arrowhead, to a bunch of scalped Barbie doll hair. It was funny to see the random things people would send and then we'd make up a poem or story about what we got. We also got letters and Christmas cards, mix cds, etc. ...it was awesome.

I need more stamps. Mom was supposed to stamp it and send it, and she didn't. Sheesh. What are mothers for? Clearly if I'm living at home, I shouldn't have to be responsible for sending my own mail. :eyeroll:
